Bullshit I got a 5.3 out of a 2000 Silverado and put it in my 79 c10 and I didn’t need to take the computer in to get anti theft delete I was able to start it with only 3 wires and starting fluid

Getting ready to do this swap I’m seeing on forums you need to change the crossmember and oil pan using those engine mounts eliminates that ?thank you in advance if anyone can help thank you

Hey what engine mount did you use?

Uglytruck on TH-cam makes an AC mount for the OEM compressor and the use of ICT mounts. There is also Dirty Dingo AC kit. Just some other options.

I have a 78 that's been butchered all the hell, and finding right information and repair manuals are a 🤬🤬🤬🤬ING joke, and trying to get info on boob tube here is getting rediculous with the fake sites, and it's a total of frame rebuild, frame weld, dumbass butcher the wiring and gonna stop there jackwad stupidity that's messed with my 78 prior to me, and nope not giving up on him and my rebuild budget is zero $ ! I'm doing this for my wife and I can fix anything but her health, so with that said to anybody else thinking of doing a complete rebuild just remember this , have minimum $20,000 and one hell of tolerance level cause you may find foolish stupid repairs from prior fools who didn't know jack ! So best of luck to u all.

We didn't camouflage the vehicles until the end of 1973. Prior to that, everything was O.D., except the stars on the hood, doors, and bumpers which were white. The bumper unit designations were also white along with the U.S. ARMY and the USA #'s on both sides of the hood. The O.D. paint was easy to touch up. The white parts had to be touched up every 3 months. When the decided to camouflage, it was done by the Installation using the patterns specified by TB 43-0209. CARC paint was very expensive and was strictly controlled by unit commanders.

Better to just spend the money and get a ZZ4 crate motor w/warranty. A used LS engine out of a junk yard is a crap shoot. You never know what you're getting, and then you have to worry about motor mounts, wiring, PCM and programming. The crate motor drops right in.

Do you by chance have a list of parts you used for the swap. Like the oil pressure sensor adapter and the temp adapter. Also the fuel line parts fuel pump and stuff like that. Going to be doing my swap on my 79 K20 soon. My donor truck is a 2011 Silverado with a 6.0L. do you have any recommendations for this year of motor?

Did you have to change your crossmember ?

The goal is not just to narrow the rear end but to also eliminate the c-clips and install larger outboard bearings. This method isn't the best solution.

Are you same trans that came with the truck if yes .what do you need for parts to put on the ls engine

Seen many Ls engines survive abuse to well over 250k-300k miles untouched internals.

Is that clearance with or without a body lift?
