@@kevandale thank you!!!
@kevandale I'm an over the road truck driver and this is the third book of yours that I've listened to in the past week already! Once again it was another banger bro. Thanks again and I'm off the next one 😄
Wow - that’s awesome, John! Glad the stories could keep you engaged out on the road!! Be well out there 🚛
Another Banger! Thank you kevan
My pleasure!! Glad you listened 🎧
I was pleasantly surprised at this story. It started off kinda slow. I'm glad I stuck it out. I really enjoyed.
Glad to hear it! 🙏
Thank goodness...a decent book with a decent narrator....i went through a period of telling anyone who would listen that information taken through the eyes is taken on differently from information taken through the ears. Prob because my ears are close to burnt out .totaly 1 side.90pc other side. Mumps-menengitus... then i came to the realisation that 99pcent of e books (are they still called ebooks?ha. Are narated by morons. Happyto find this isnt the case here Highly recommended... great naration.... Best for ages....Thankyou.....i need more of these.....Thankyou ..❤
Glad you liked it! Tremendous job by Gary Furlong on the narration, I 100% agree!!
I’m listening now 2024, I’m enjoying this book, great narration!
Awesome! Thank you! 🙏 Mark does such a great job bringing this story to ‘life.’ 👻
I loved both books thank you, well done well written and brilliant.😊 X
Thanks so much! I’m glad you liked both of them - it was a blast telling that whole story from two perspectives, so I always hoped people would have fun reading both. 📚👻🙌
Heya Kevan, we spoke a while ago (you pointed me in the direction of findaway). I've enjoyed a bunch of your stories on here, and wanted to repay you with one of mine. A Third of Infinity on my TH-cam page is a free full audiobook if you're looking for a quick, spooky read
Awesome - thanks William! I’ll check it out 🎧
Very much liked listening to this book.
Thanks for listening! I’m glad you enjoyed it👻🙏
New Author to me, but I'm sold😊
Thanks so much - glad you checked out my stuff! 📚🙌
I'm 64 years old and I've spent a large amount of my reading time when I was able to read reading horror ghost stories of fiction science fiction nonfiction whatever and the sun's going blind and having access to audiobooks and stuff and and the internet when that became available listening to horror ghost stories et cetera at first I didn't think I was going to like this but listening for a while and then I really did enjoy it it was really really a great book what else can I say kudos to the author and to the narrator again I enjoyed this book really really great great great great great great great book sincerely Bob the blind bedroom
Thank you Bob!! I’m so glad you liked the story. Mark Sanderlin does an amazing job narrating this one, 100% agree. 👻📚
Oh I loved both books,I couldn’t wait to finish work so I could listen to them.will you be writing more similar books? ❤
Thanks, Cece! Yep, that’s the plan. I’m just wrapping up a new novel now & already have another in mind after that. Glad you like these! 👻👍🙏
please upload more thank you
👍 Working on the next one now, it’ll be here eventually. ⌨️✍️📚
Thank you for the upload. I am also a new author 'Robert Liddy, Rise of The Phoenix, the Admiral's Diaries 1 through 4'. I am trying to get my fifth book out but having issues with my publisher
You’re welcome, Robert. And good luck with your publisher - and keep writing! ✍️ ⌨️
@kevandale Thank you. I hope you get to read my series Rose of the Phoenix the Admiral's Diaries.
Thank you for uploading this!
You bet! Glad you liked it!
This was a lovely book. Was not sure in first bit if I wanted to stick with it, but definitely worthwhile. Nice narration too.
Glad you enjoyed it, Dee! Thanks for sticking with it. 👻🙏
Very Well Done. 8/10 Coming from someone who's read over 100 books.
So glad you enjoyed it! Here’s to another 100 books! 📚
@@kevandale The uniqueness of the idea makes it a fun read. I have been following a lot of horror in last 2 years.
KAREN!!! OMG.. 😂 1.5 hrs in and i just realized who she is from the first story. 🙈
Yup, that’s her!
I can honestly say this is pretty much my favorite ghost story i heard audiobook style in the 20 or so i heard in the last few momths. It made me laugh cry,it made me root for characthers,it made me cringe and scared, disgusted and optimist. It rival with steven kings books in my opinion. I just loved this and am feeling so much emotions at the ending.
Thanks so much, wildrabit! 🙏 I’m psyched you liked it so much and grateful you took the time to share your reactions. You might like the companion audiobook, Ghost at Dawn - it tells the other part of the tale: Karen Jarvis’s role. 👻🏠
Loved both books, ty for this.
You're so welcome, Aken! With Halloween coming up, I wanted to get this one up on the channel. Karen & Tim’s *least* fav holiday, heh. 👻🎃💀
This was so great! I listened to Timothy’s story, and it’s great to hear Karen’s side. Your math is incredible.
Ha ha, that’s what I call ‘the power of fiction’ - my math is not my strong suit. Having Karen work all that out was painstaking stuff, lots of research / dart throwing. 🧮🎯But I’m glad it FELT solid. And I’m glad you enjoyed it, Kat!! 👻
I listened to 'Ghost at Dusk' a year or more ago, I'm going to listen to it again. I know I liked it but it's even more interesting to me now that I know it's related, in some small way at least, to Finn from of 'The Devil's Key'. It doesn't surprise me that you get grumpy and angsty in between books. True creativity is painful and angsty, it seems to be a part of the natural process of creativity but I'm sure you already know that Kevan. You probably wouldn't admit it but you are a bit of a genius yourself. I had a very small stroke 9 1/2 years ago that unfortunately was in just the wrong spot. My Lifetime Love of reading came to an end. I can still read paragraphs and write a little bit however, until I found audiobooks I was at a total loss (I've never been the kind to watch TV and that hurts my eyes anyway). I've kind of struggled with listening to audio books, it isn't as satisfying to me as reading (I'm the kind of person that comprehends best by actually seeing words). I'm grateful for it nonetheless. I am so excited to have found your books and extremely grateful that you offer as much as you do for free. Money's tight but I do feel I owe you a couple of coffees!💙
Don’t worry about the coffees, ☕️. I’m glad you found the audiobooks. I love to write these books & share them with anyone who finds them interesting. Not all art has to be pure commerce - there’s more to life. Also, glad you picked up on the connection with The Devil’s Key. All my books (including the fantasy series) connect in various ways. More to come! 📚
It took me a few days to understand what it is about this book that makes it so frightening. I think I finally figured it out. Subsequently I've been listening to Stephen King's 'Duma Key' which is my favorite Stephen King novel. Stephen King is good. When he describes the horror as he's writing, his descriptions are technically correct but to me it feels like he's actually stops to think about what he wants to describe, what he wants to say and how he wants to say it. In 'The Devil's Key', Kevan Dale becomes the character and writes what the character is experiencing. The horror flows naturally as we the readers are allowed to experience what the character is experiencing as if it's first-hand! This makes for a much more visceral feeling than mere description. I have read hundreds of horror novels over the fifty years I've been reading. Very few have actually frightened me. 'The Devil's Key' not only frightened me but has captured my interest well past my reading of it! I know I keep writing you Kevan, I hope you take my interest as the compliment it is. Hoping to hear more from Finn & Co. I can't promise I'm done with my analysis😅. You have truly and sincerely impressed me with this book Kevan! So many thanks for sharing it, especially freely!💙
Thanks, Karen! High praise I’m too humble to take, ha ha. I grew up on King, and still think ‘Salem’s Lot is his finest, most terrifying book 📖. An influence on this book in particular, if you look closely enough. (Or maybe not even that closely…) I’m thrilled you enjoyed it so much. Finn is still in the back of my mind, so we’ll see! 🙏
Pomeroy, my favorite character!
Yes! Same! He was the first character I wrote who sprung off the page, fully developed. (This was my first real novel, so he holds a special place in my writer heart.) 🖊️🧡
@@kevandale listen to some many audiobooks and majority of character’s are hard to like. Pomeroy is wonderful! Thank you for that.
First book ever that had me hooked in first 5 minutes! Absolutely love the Major and Thomas characters. Thank you@@kevandale
@@johnchidester7648 Thanks so much, John! Really glad to hear you enjoyed it! They were fun characters to let loose on the page 💥
Great plot. Great narration
Thank you kindly! Mark Sanderlin does a breathtaking job with this story, doesn’t he? 🎤🎧🤩
I'm listening to the book again immediately after having listened to it because it is just that good! You are so talented Kevan, I don't know why you're not as popular as Stephen King! In my opinion you're better than King. These characters beg to be a series! They are simply too good to be only one book! If you do decide to write more stories about Finn and his terrifying, heroic adventures, please, please keep Gary Furlong as the narrator! He truly is Finn! So many thanks for letting us listen to your work!💙
Working with Gary Furlong was amazing - he brought Finn to life, made Finn’s world real, and kept the atmosphere vibrant. If Finn & Co. have more stories to tell, I’ll 100% ask Gary to narrate. Thanks for letting me know you liked it! 🙏
This book is extremely well-written, very dark, intense, suspenseful, and scary as hell! The characters are completely engaging and the plot is ghastly! I haven't experienced a book like this since I read Blatty's 'The Exorcist' 40 years ago and horror has been my main genre all these years! To top it off the narrator is excellent! If you're easily frightened this is not the book for you. Bravo Kevan Dale👏and thanks for letting us listen to you're incredible book!
Wow - thanks, Karen! I LOVE Blatty’s work, so that comparison made my day. Glad the story drew you in. 😈🗝️🎧
@@kevandale You're very welcome Kevan, thank you so much for sharing your amazing work! I'm really hoping to see Finn & Co. again! In my opinion Kevan, King's got nothing on you.💙

Loved it. Thank you👍
Glad you enjoyed it, Maureen!
