Sheepfolds looks fab. I hope it's well supported throughout the year & not just the footy season.
Such a great place to visit all year round 😊

Used to have brilliant pub routes in the 70s and 80s then too many bars opened which were empty then closed.. greed.
Hopefully the good times will be back again with the investment coming into the city! 😊
Brilliant video, how are you not the size of a hoose end like.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and for the positive feedback! 😊
City of Sunderland council have made the city in to a sanctuary for refugees but never ask the public. Crimes rates has rocketed over the last 4 years like many city's in the UK.dome by the people who landed only wanting a better life ffs whatever. And it's those working class that pay the wages for the counsellors. .this is the same council that's banned words like working class as it deem too British.😡🤬 the council has turn Sunderland into one of the worst city's in the uk.and the people of Sunderland are working class and if that is too British then it's too British.and the people offended by that know what to do.
Good video, I've lived here all my life and I have to say it's not that bad, seems to be on the up anyway. Do miss the leisure centre and the glass centre though. My only advice to prospective visitors, try and avoid coming here by road if you can, pothole central.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. It feels like it’s a city on the up with lots and lots of investment. Hopefully good times ahead for Sunderland 😊
Ordinary Sunderland folk won't be able to afford the prices.
Looks banging in there 👍🏻 we didn’t even realise there were pubs back there. Will defo hit it up 👍🏻 thanks for sharing
It’s a fantastic pub, thanks for taking the time to comment 😊
Do Millies chicken chips n gravy next
Ha ha, there he is! Cheers for watching my mate! ❤️❤️❤️
Love their bar snacks, excellent.
Yeh superb place for a few pints and some bar snacks 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Pit pony has nothing to do with dray horses, pit ponies worked underground in the coal mine along side the miners.
Hello, thanks for taking the time to comment. Apologies, the logo itself for “Pit Pony” refers directly to the dray horses.
@@ganforbaitlike Dray horses are massive heavy horses specially bred to haul heavy loads and used by Vaux breweries for years, ,a pony is a small horse no taller than 14 hands at the shoulder would be uncappable of pulling such a load what the pony was bred for was working underground in Monkwearmouth Colliery Sunderland's largest coal mine.
@@PatrickKelly-lz3pv aye you are correct they were small horses used to pull the tubs of coal underground in most pits. 60 years ago my brother worked at Castletown pit and they called them gallowas.
@@alanbennett2140 The Galloway pony is an extinct horse breed, once native to Scotland and northern England. It was said to have "good looks, a wide, deep chest and a tendency to pace rather than trot." In the 18th century Galloways were bred in Swaledale, to haul lead ore. The breed was mentioned by Shakespeare as "Galloway nags" in Henry IV, Part 2. "Thrust him down stairs! know we not Galloway nags?" Pistol - Henry IV, Part 2 by William Shak
@@PatrickKelly-lz3pv not Galloway but gallowa which is a slang term used in the north east/Sunderland pits

How much did the council pay you to make this video?
I did this video free of charge off my own back. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

We loved it there, despite how close it is to The Stadium of Light 😉 look forward to going back
They’ve done such a great job, nice place to visit for a change of scenery 😊
Looks mega!!!! Love this Sunday offering. Will add to the list 🫶🏻💥
Great value for money, you’ll love it 😊

What's "chipenpen?"
I've not left a tip when the service was bad.
I've travelled by subway alone late at night many times. Never had an issue.
The Rose hill (jillys homebake) in howdon is the best I’ve tried proper Sunday dinner
Thanks for commenting, will add to the list 😊
We tried the Waterford arms in seaton sluce today they had the Sunday dinner which was huge and really good loads of slow cooked beef I had the whale which is a huge fish and chips definitely worth a try our first time but highly recommended
Sunlun? Best place to be? Shush man😂
And every place he went to was empty sunderland has nothing worth visiting museum is an hour glass centre has gone seaburn has been crap for years shield is better most city's have food and pubs but there's nothing to see
Thanks for taking the time to comment
Sunderland is on the up whether you like it or not pal
I lived there for 20 years. Seaburn is the best it has ever looked. Glass Centre is still open.
@@tigershootdefinitely a city on the up 😊
The thing people don’t realise is, Newcastle city centre has many listed buildings whereas Sunderland had the options to demolish buildings and restore. It’s on track to be something Newcastle couldn’t be and will soon be known as the UK’s first and only Smart Green city. A 5G network, The brand new Housing Innovation Construction Skills Academy and Geothermal Energy Centre, Culture House and Eye Hospital are all going to be catalysts for a specific niche to Sunderland and will draw people from all over. And that’s without the economics benefits of Crownworks. Watch this space Sunderland will be the place to be.
Brilliant comment, thanks for taking the time 😊😊😊
Brilliant honest review 👍
Thanks so much for the feedback 😊😊😊
The centre used to be lovely. Like South Shields town centre. My god if you weren’t depressed you will be if you went there now. I’ve never seen so many shops with chip board doubled glazed windows.
At least Sunderland Council are doing something about improving the city, it seems like South Shields was given up on a long time ago 😢
Be sweet for cooking up onions and peppefs
Definitely would, I’ve never tried that
Lets hope the chavs stayaway so there is no litter dropped, vandalism, swearing, etc because they want to spoil everything in Sunderland city.
Been a few times now, this place is going to be a big success. Just a thought on the dance studios. I think they are in the wrong place, they occupy a prime retail space.
Agree it’s going to be a huge success and bring people to Sunderland who would never usually think to visit. Thanks for taking the time to comment 😊

Slagging Sunderland off you can see why if you live in the north east ..and know the rough spots and seek them out ignoring the good spots .. there are many good parts to Sunderland..If there's deprevation and rough areas and not much to do its down to the Southern powers that be ignoring the region over the years ..no investment or govt funded projects of note ..This region has been short changed and left to rot for many many years..The people are fine people and warm if they take you into their community..Im from Newcastle and have went out with many a Sunderland Lass. and was always well loved by many families on Wearside. Jimmy Montgomery my Sporting hero and don't forget that great Sunderland side from 1973.. the greatest cup final ever, Im a Newcastle Fan but grew up with many of those players from back then..I was never out of the Gym at the Northumbria centre and used to have egg and chips at Ritchie Pits house ..Maisonette in Washington.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Sunderland is on the up 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Never really go down to Sunderland but I might well give this place a look in.
It’s a great spot, would definitely recommend it, maybe not on a match day as it will be crazy busy but they’ve done some fantastic work putting this place together
Not even a sniff off a Yorkshire pudding...looks canny mind
I know! Some places are quite traditional and only do the Yorkies with beef, which is what they’re doing this weekend coming. It’s not a proper Sunday dinner for me without Yorkies, stuffing and mash but everywhere is different 😂 still a fantastic meal though and as I say the meat changes weekly so the lucky people getting beef will get the Yorkshire puddings 👍👍👍
Oysters. I love em. I could eat plate after plate of them Good video mate stay safe 👍
Thanks for commenting and for the compliment. Take care and see you on the next video! 👍👍
