Beautiful, what happened?
There is no comparison when it comes to aggressiveness to a 2ft male Dovii. When Dovii are full size they are by far the most aggressive cichlid
Years ago I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pair of breeding five star Generals the male was super aggressive for their size they are as tough as any this four inch male started fighting with my 10 inch tiger Oscar and beat the hell out of him I couldn’t believe it it’s not the size of the fish in the fight it’s the size of the fight in the fish
I definitely believe and agree with you! I've had 5 star generals they are nasty. I'm actually getting the largest of the 5 star general this month the hemichromis faciatus
How long does it take for a trimac to get that size
@@MatthewNelson-vj4el I got him when he was only 4 inches it took about 2 years to get this size
That is a little Red Devil , I got a 10 inch Devil that would smash any size trimac with the quix . That is a 5 inch Devil in there not a huge problem until they get 8 or 9 inches then the Devil comes out
@@seanburdelik5216 I appreciate the comment that labiatus was a beast and 9 inches they were the same age the trimac just grew faster. Trimacs and Red devils are in the same family and are pretty equally matched beside trials getting a little larger. It completely depends on the individual fish.
Nowhere for them to hide in there, or none of their own space to chill and rest. IDK man.....................
All 3 of them lived in harmony for months until I added the Trimac
Is this what you do? Put aggressive cichlids together and let them kill each other? Trash content.
Interesting I just picked up a tiger louch here in Australia and it’s simply stunning
They are by far my favorite loach one of my favorite fish
my oscar bosses around my trimac, both are about 8 inches
Surprising but definitely not impossible. I’d love to see them.
I bet you didn't put any convicts in there
I did but they were chases constantly so I removed them
i personally love keeping aggresive individual chichlids, they are more like individual pets that way.
I definitely agree
What size tank is he in now? Ive got a young male (17cm) in a 75 gallon tank by himself at the moment. Wondering how long until he outgrowns the tank. Maybe a year?
120 gallon but yes a year or possibly 2
They are beautiful. The Third like 👍🏼 is now up to say thankyou very much for sharing. Have a nice day and take care, Sir. 🤙🏼🙂🤙🏼❤️
Thank you! You too!
@michigancichlidfinatic2581 My pleasure. Thankyou very much, Sir. 🤙🏼🙂🤙🏼❤️
I must say dis has to be the most impressive young male jag I ever seen 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I appreciate that my guy he definitely is a stunner, I drove 2.5 hours to get him and he was free!
Excellent looking male brother, looks like he gonna be a monster!
I appreciate it my guy I can’t wait to get him a nice female 🔥
See that’s kind of a waste of a tank. & the pleco is probably surviving because most of them have armor for skin.
shut up mate
Altho that kitty I’m hearing meowing is saying put that fish down here w me! We’ll see how he does up against me!
How big is your tank as you’re going to need a really big tank for the Jag and butti because the jag and butti can both get 2 feet long the jag can weigh 3 pounds and the butti can weigh 11 pounds the red devil and trimac both only get 14 inches long
@@artcarrasco9 I’ve seen Buttikoferi top out at 16-18 inches in huge aquariums, most are around 12-16 though. Big jags can get to 18 but they need to live very long for that, most males top out at 16 inches as well.
@@artcarrasco9 yet there’s evidence otherwise that shows them growing larger than 14 inches. My female was 12 inches, and males in cichlids are fairly bigger. A species with a 14 inch max isn’t gonna have a female get to 12 inches.
@@artcarrasco9 no one thinks Oscars get to 2 feet lol, the most I’ve heard was 16-18 inches but usually in the aquarium they get no larger than 15.
@@artcarrasco9 I have seen and I have heard buddy. Explain why my FEMALE Butti topped out at 12 inches then? If you knew anything about cichlid morphology you’d know that female cichlids are usually 4-6 inches smaller than males. Literally the data even backs up this claim. No one’s ever seen a 12 inch female Citrinellus or Labiatus. Why? Because males max out at 12-15 inches females are generally in the 8-10 inch range. Another species that’s similarly sized are RTM’s (Motaguense) and females in those species don’t get anywhere near 12 inches. More like 8-9. Male RTM’s are 11-14 inches. So why are Butti’s any different?😂 Unless you’re complimenting me by saying my female is one of the largest individuals in her species (which she’s not, she’s an average sized female for her species). Fact of the matter is that Buttikoferi males can get up to 18 inches but most are around 14-16. They overlap in size with Jags.
I have 3 years+ old male Trimac, very aggressive 😅 he live alone in the aquarium, I try many time to introduce female or other fish but he aint accept nobody. He bite me few time during cleaning his aquarium. One time he jump and bite my finger bleeding 🥲
I have definitely experienced the same dealing with Trimacs
The tank is too small,
I appreciate your feedback
its not too small its perfect
Wow. Tough. I never heard of a trimac.
Happy I could introduce you to them they are my absolute favorite type of cichlid!
@@michigancichlidfinatic2581 I'll definitely get some. My fav cichlids are butterkoferies, convicts, red devils. I would love for any of these fish to crossbreed peacock. That's impossible to find on the internet if it's even possible lol.
suprised those fish get a long in that smallish tank
The fish is way bigger then the others
Less than an inch difference I wouldn’t say way bigger and he bested fish that were actually significantly bigger than him
I know how it feels, felt the same way when I lost my 12 inch female Butti. I’ll be making a comeback soon though🫡
Dan hate to hear that she was a beast. What you got now?
@@michigancichlidfinatic2581 both tanks are empty except for some Tiger barbs. Thinking of using the 4 foot for a Salvini pair and the 125g for a Labiatus male, or a pair of Cubans.
@@Buttikoferiii nice whatever you decide keep us posted!
@@michigancichlidfinatic2581 for sure bro, thanks for the support!
To bad bout Hawk good luck with your new beast.
I appreciate it!
These are nice look fish but they live up to their name mini dovii i got 8 at lfs hoping they will pair but as soon as they hit 3inches the biggest guy killed 2 over night so moved him to another tank then a few week later another guy became boss and killed 3 over night i thought that he paired with the last one but a week later he killed the little one. Now 1 of them about 5 inches live with a red wolf fish they seem to be buddy and another live 5 inches live with a 8 inches midas they stop growing after 5 inches it seem or just really slow were im not even noticing
Nice do you have any footage of them?
Awesome footage Beautiful speciem
Thank you!
Just subbed your channel respect
In américain cichlid You put in tank in grow up one species . Because terror And your rock is not put correctly Put a coflin ( grotte ,pot de fleurs)
I think you dont understand me because i m french. Bur clever for the fish Festae terror Grammodes terror Dovii terror Don t put in same tank !
He said festae and grammodes But i think maybe two grammodes or Dovii ?because the same think became ( parade in french)for a fry man or women. Is very young and différent color Because the man of grammodes do a little points red and dont see Or Dovii the women is dark and clear and man Dovii had ( points brillants reflet bleuté) Sorry for the language i am a french Guy. Are you share for the species ? And when i see the show is far for look . If i will see in Real life i said because i know this species, grammodes, dovii ,festae ( or not urophtalmus)
Both came from reputable breeders , one was a Festae , one was a Grammodes I can see the confusion tho
@@michigancichlidfinatic2581fishs move like a pair its for this He can fry Dont . He kill the festae Normaly for me . I do the cichlasoma for 27 years ,i can fry 57 speces différents. I know very good My last fry its paraneetroplus bulleri. Id N
Wow, absolutely beautiful. So refreshing to see a Trimac in perfect shape, just like in the wild. Most of the kept Trimacs I’ve seen in my life are fat and misproportioned.
I appreciate the compliment! I definitely agree he was a stud I’ve lost interest in the hobby since I lost him
Check out my latest video, I got a new Trimac I wouldn’t say he’s Hulk but he is nice as well.
Show two species cichlasoma agressives fighting Why ? Young dovii is more agressives or grammodes , No color ,no fry , no pair The aqua is small ?
That's too much cleaning
You can put convict's in there
Team Trimac ❤
Yo mean hes a BEAST beautiful Trimac good luck wirh him!
It depends on the individual fish a10in Trimac is more mature than a 12 inch Dovii all trimacs are not killers!!! But they do like to fight some fish just recognize if it going to be a fight for food I need to get rid of the comp!!!
Can’t argue with that!
Where did you get that Frempongi
Do you still have the Five Star General
I'm partial to gravel over sands. Nuetral earth tones easy to maintain. Preferably medium river rocks and course gravel.
One of my favourite cichlids I lost my 9 male over covid there a hell of a fish
Ese pez es bn castroso pero bonito
I need one
Definitely need some plants
Man that’s one thing I’ve been trying to incorporate into my tanks I actually just put some pothos plants on his tank but I want some inside also
@@michigancichlidfinatic2581 Java fern and Anubias easiest plants in the game and all you gotta do is glue them on driftwood or rocks
@@yunge9482 what kinda glue?
@@michigancichlidfinatic2581 crazy glue the active ingredient isn’t toxic to the fish once it’s underwater
I’ve been looking a for grammode for a minute now
Yea they are hard to come across even harder to find them already sexed.
Ese ciclido trimac se cree muy bravo pero ponle un terror verde y verás como se kga lo digo porque tengo uno que se la pasa molestando a los demás pero al único q respeta es al Green terror
English?
Una pelea bn equilibrada
Have kept both but a big Grammoode would absolutely Smash a Istanum I had. 9 inch male that would bully big amps only my old chancho would actually not be afraid of it
I definitely believe it
Fair enough, when it comes to top cichlid species in aggression it’s pretty much a 50/50 fight at even sizes.
Given time the buffer will kill everything in there
He was unfortunately killed by that Labiatus when I removed the Trimac.
Please separate the fish before any fish gets killed.@@michigancichlidfinatic2581
