Great video Mark
@@keithbrink9823 thank you 🤩
What's the fuel average in 1 liter petrol
@@muhammadshahzad2529 I have never looked, but have heard you can get between 500 and 600km on all 3 tanks
@@mfthedronepoet9745Какая замена масла, через сколько тыс. км ???
@@patriot0950 The first two are 500km and then after that get your oil analized after 2000km to see when you next need a oil change. I am now on 4000km no problem. Depends on how you ride.
Why do you ride with a barbecue grill on your bike ?
Because @turkana make a really good luggage system and this way I can carry fresh meat and cook on the side of the road
"it gives you confidence". thx for that!
@@edstoica I have done a lot more mileage since the video, bike is going strong 💪
@@mfthedronepoet9745 I got mine yesterday delivered could not ride it yet, but I already fell in ❤ with it, just by moving it around in my carport...
would you have any gps track history for this ride?. Just back from same area and hoping to ride more around Golden Gate and Clarens.
I don't think I recorded anything from that ride, we just chose destinations and used Google Maps
Great camerawork Mark, thank you for assisting Mills Bomb SH every year to remember our fallen brethren!
Many thanks and always a pleasure
The aluminium will detach due to fuel out gasing from the tank. Normally the glassfiber wrap around the header should be sufficient on itself to prevent the fuel from heating up too much.
It is still there with no sign of falling off, lets hope for the best
Could you tell a little bit more which ECU´s have been tested and in which configuration? And also the pros/cons of the ecu´s? You´re just stating that 1.4 is the winner without naming the competitors ;-)
I am busy with another video just on that but here's the short version - Open air filter (not euro 5) - modified exhaust (removed all the insides) - de cat OEM pipe. 49 tooth still on rear. Results - Wang Pro ECU - will not rev out and sluggish. Flashed ECU by my importers - does not go sub 6000rpm. 1.4 ECU - revs through the whole range, the "jerk" sub 4000rpm is hardly noticeable. Bottom line - un cork everything as much as possible and go fast. I hear about all the other companies but I am not convinced it gets much better than this. A flywheel weight is my next thought. Just wish I could wave a wand and get rid of the engine braking 🙂
Nice video. What tablet did you use and how did you mount it?
Hey Keith. Thanks. At the moment its a basic and temp setup. Its a Samsung A7 Lite, discontinued and very basic but works ok with DMD 2 software. Am currently looking at a better Tab but the A7 does work. I have heard that the Active 3 is a better choice, personally I would like something better than the Active 3 and A7 Lite with a 1000 Nits display, the price does start to rocket so it depends on what you want to do. For basic ADV riding I don't think you need the greatest but if you have the budget....go for it .Its mounted with a wind deflector camp taken off my Africa Twin for temp install and cable ties. hopefully my tower arrives from Wang soon and then I will re install. There is a 3D printable "bracket" out there that goes below the Kove LCD and Wang has one but be careful how low you mount it, looking down while riding is not cool
Leka video Mark. I think we're going to see lots of these around as well as aftermarket accessories. The stability due to COG will be a big bonus ("riding on rails" as you said). Other than going on a MX track, the route of your outing was a thorough test. You mentioned "a tower" - are you getting a stock upgrade or generic one like Rade Garage? Another question, is that saddle bag a GL Great Basin?
The bike is already very popular in North America and Europe with big companies making parts, there's already 3 in Hillcrest. I am getting the rally tower type A from Uncle Wang plus a whole lot of other parts split between Ali Express and Uncle Wang. The bag is an old Giant Loop bag that has done well. All the other luggage gear I use is Turkana
@@mfthedronepoet9745 Those GL bags are great. Apart from the Great Basin like yours, I have the slightly smaller Coyote for my 690 and even smaller Mojavi for medical support. I think you've got a winning recipe there for lotsa fun. Good luck with the few niggles and happy miles & smiles ahead. 😁
That tablet needs 12 v direct to the battery -- the USB has not got enough juice to charge it while riding .. you have to connect it to the bike... that is why it dies
Thanks, I was thinking the same thing, in other words, the factory USB does not have the amperage output to give the 2 or 3 amps the tablet needs to charge. My idea is to take 12v straight from the battery to a 5v USB fitting when I fit the Rallye Tower
That’s some serious off-road adventure riding. Excellent job
Nice review. Enjoy the Kove
Thanks mate
Thanks for review. Are you sure your orange sprocket is a 49? What ECU are you running? Decatalyzed? Last but not least: where (which country in Africa) do you live?
Thanks. Definitely a 49, others are running the 51 or 52 in the tight stuff, I am ok with the 49 for now, it's the stock sprocket from factory. I have heard that the rims and sprockets come from the same company that KTM uses and is the same sprocket bolt pattern. Currently running the stock ECU which is a 1.14 I think, I have the Pro ECU on its way from Uncle Wang and then want to remove the cat. I have left the cat in as it is running pretty lean with the stock ECU and it will run even leaner when I remove the cat hence me getting the Pro ECU. I am in Durban, South Africa.
Weird: the stock sprocket (49) is black...at least here in europe.
@@clemenswyss8 thats interesting
@@mfthedronepoet9745 It's not the same factory as KTM uses. KTM has Haan wheels on the rally replica which are produced in germany. No other Offroad model has cush drive hubs. They are copies of the Haan wheels, but they are definitely not the same wheel.
lekker video, what does a weekend here cost? and is it noob 4x4 friendly?
Thanks. I think it was about R150 per person per night, you can find them on FB. There is some easy stuff and some pretty hectic stuff, Great sport for camping!
Looked like a nice ride. Join you buggars next time.
