Cascade link went over center over compressed rear shock jamb rear tire against seatpost I went over the bars took 3 mechanics to pull it out sent link and frame to cascade for evaluation and they could not find anything wrong except minor bearing wear and they sent all it back said tuff pal we can’t find any fault with our product. Lesson learned Factory engineers design frames best not to try to make a frame travel further than it was designed for! Now I’m stuck with a damaged $4k carbon frame front triangle. I changed Hightower back to Santa Cruz standard link to be safe. I have videos without shock on that I sent to cascade they you can see how link allows head of bolt gouge into frame and jamb

What are the disadvantage of the 38 over the 36? Weight and expense? I have an eMTB with a 36 (Grip) and I weigh 210lbs. For most of my riding it feels more than capable but certain trails in Queenstown push it to the limit and it bottoms out. I'm considering upgrading to a Grip2 or getting a 38.

kind of a big difference going form a 450 to a 600 LB spring. the 450 LB spring seem to be too soft for you if you are going to a 600 Lb spring

Wow, great riding! 🚵‍♂ The colorway of that Fox 38 fork is absolutely stunning! 😍 Thinking of getting one myself to upgrade from my trusty Lyrik. How do you have your Fox 38 set up? Would love to know your settings for rebound, compression, and air pressure. Keep shredding! 🤘

My 38 is showing up today. I’m 6’1 and 240lbs and ride pretty aggressive. I have the 36 on two of my bikes and have been pretty happy but I’m excited to go to the 38 and see the difference. Thanks for the great content!

@@Tr_Fast Lol, Not yet but it’s been a significant improvement over the 36. I really like the stiffness and the way I can push it into the corners. I put my old 36 on my sons bike so he got an upgrade too. Good times!

That trail looks rad! Great video and review. What kind of rear shocks are you running? I’m looking to upgrade to a 38 myself but wondering if I should upgrade rear as well. I currently have a Fox 36 and Fox float DPS and I’m really happy with it. But I’m thinking the bigger the better? Fox float X or X2? 🤙

It’s interesting that at around 14:50 you say that they “feel a lot lighter, especially at speed.” A heavier wheel should actually feel lighter at speed since it acts as a flywheel and has more kinetic energy to keep the wheel spinning using less energy input to maintain that speed. A lighter wheel should feel lighter in the acceleration, since there is less mass to move.

I did not enjoy this trail. It didn’t seem made for mountain bikes. It was challenging and technical but I think I like swoopy corners too much for me to be able to enjoy riding this. This trail felt like the north shore of Vancouver but 100% rocks. It was mildly terrifying in the switchbacks that were slow but you had to keep your speed up and tire placement had to be spot on or you had some very real consequences if you made a small mistake. I can see how some people would love this trail but for me it was like going to work but with a LOT of unnecessary anxiety.

Hey, I'm from Vancouver. Not many trails like that up here with sheer cliff exposure, but definitely rock gardens, slabs, wet, roots, slow, technical goodness. Shorts all year round too. Just need waterproof socks and a good jacket/gloves. Would love another road trip back down to Tahoe.

is a more progressive bike better for heavier riders? I'm 105 kg and felt like not having enough adjustment range for the rebound. I've had 285 PSI in it so, yea.. it was rather not plush bit really hard
