But even loyalest and dedicated servers of the God Emperor need to put their negative energy into something else. Space Marines live to fight and die for Emperium of Men, but they are deserve to remind for what and why they are fighting for. Otherwise Space Marines would be no better than disgusting Orcs who capable for nothing but destruction. Or traitorous Chaos Marines, who were deceived to the path of evil. Galactic Empire took care of such aspect much better just by providing its soldiers and stormtroopers with vacations, entertainment and decent food. Never mind payments they can choose how to spend.
