Testing a Dynamic Weight Transfer System for my RC Snowmobile
มุมมอง 8K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is my entry to Pascal Robert - Rc Creations's 2023-2024 rc snowmobile challenge. I have created a rider that can be independently controlled to lean when i turn. The rider's body is the snowmobiles battery which makes the overall center of gravity higher and thus it can tilt the sled sideways. There is a video probably coming soon where i show how you can build this modification yourself a...

Fast 3D Printed Rc Boat Testing

In this video I am testing my homemade 3d printed rc boat. I have designed it myself in fusion 360. The boat is printed in 5 different sections and glued together with superglue. I have spray painted the boat and that is why it doesn’t look printed. I used PLA to print the boat. The boat is only running 50% throttle and it can go faster. How to Make a Cardboard Cutter - Using Pencil Sharpener Blade
Bro how do u make it go so fast
I just turn up the voltage
how do you make the top removable?
As you can see in the video, it’s a separate lid with four hand grip screws to secure it and a seal for waterproofing
@@UppfinnarAXEL haha thanks for the reply, I meant how did you model it in the software since I was trying to. I managed to do it now though
@@ctrl7770 😂 sorry I didn’t understand. I think I just extruded down a 0,3 mm thick box as a cut tool. That will both give you margin for printing and cut at the same time. I guess the same principle applies to the split body tool but extrude is easier. A tip for the seal is to first fillet every corner where the lid is, ensuring there is a smooth guide rail. Then create a profile sketch from the side, and sweep it around the whole lid along the edge as guide rail.
So cool! Awesome work!
Thank you!
It is actually going to be realistic! I bet it’s hard to master!
It’s kind of hard because it takes time to get used to controlling throttle with a stick
Very impressive and motivational!
Awesomeness for sure!!!! 😊
Yea thanks! 😀
Sweet! Reminded me of a tyco rc motorcycle that had a weighted dude that slide back n forth to turn the bike. Slide rolled back n forth on a upside down U part over the seat. Has me thinking you could add that or a up and down servo and really have dude getting after it lol
Thanks! Sounds like a great idea! I can’t find the bike when I search for it though.
Have you thought about mixing the steering servo with the rider servo for steering? In deep snow, to turn right for example, you'd actually want the skiis to turn left and rider weight to go right. Then adding a gyro could even keep the the sled from tipping over when thr angle goes too far by correcting the ride weight!?
Yes, I might do something similar next time
Sweet!! Like the colors you went with im almost done with mine just haven't gotten to it because i have no snow Oh and was wondering what happened to the steering at the end there
Thanks, I liked the colors too. it’s really fun to drive but it needs some upgrades like a leaning rider and a 4s battery. Too bad you don’t have any snow, we’ve had a lot this winter. It was the steering pinion gear that stripped on the servo, so I just replaced that gear and now it works again
@@UppfinnarAXEL okay thanks! for the information
I think there should be a little guy on it!
Yes, I have to put my leaning rider on it
What type of pump that you used in this project
A peristaltic pump from a soap bubble machine
Wow. You beat me to it. Nice work! This is the next genre of rc to come!
I wonder when you get stuck if you hit it full throttle and make the rider shake side to side to get un stuck ?
Sometimes it can work if there is harder snow underneath, but many times it will remain stuck
That really cool. Now for some sidehill action
You were tugging his wire
Dude that's sick. Pretty cool design
Thanks 👍
This is super cool man. Great job with the design and build
Do you plan to make the STL’s available?
Yes, very soon 😀
Look in the description
Like the design alot looks like it works great 👍
Thanks 👍
I have been thinking this ever since i picked up one of his kits; I would pay money for this!! Awesome work! Any way to tie it into steering channel instead of separate stick? Maybe using mixes in the radio?
Yes you can either mix in the radio or use a Y-cable for steering and leaning. I just wanted it separate so I can counter-steer in the deep snow. Files available soon!
Why not tie in the rider servo to the steering servo?
Because in a lot of situations you have to lean the opposite direction of steering
@@UppfinnarAXEL maybe a powder vs hardpack mode? Depp pow, rider goes opposite, and hardpack, rider goes with
@@TaylorAbrahamson16 it is possible and I can do it, but I have an idea with a pistol grip controller where you lean the whole controller the way you want the rider to lean.
Can you add a spinning gyro?
Anything is possible but I don’t think I want my sled to sound like a jet engine. Also it would draw unnecessary current even when it’s standing still.
A game controller might be easier to use. Like in the best game ever, MX vs ATV Reflex!
It’s a good idea because you also have triggers. I just don’t know how to convert a game controller to an rc radio.
hell yeah! I was thinking about this for my RC sleds...and then boom, this came up on my youtube feed! hahahah awesome!
Files should be released shortly after January 31!
@@UppfinnarAXEL sweet! I posted your video in the facebook group and then my friend in the discord group said you posted it the other day! hahah so, I joined the discord group! Love all of this stuff!
Very cool idea, i was waiting to someone do exactly that. Awesome!!
Nice job man
This is really awesome and super impressive ! Good job! Love to see where this continues!
I built a Pascal Polaris last year...so that means it wont snow in St. Lous for years. Fingers crossed this year we get enough snow to run it.
Pascal will appreciate your HOR Kyosho leaning rider.
What has Kyosho got to do with this?
I introduced Pascal to this also. Kyosho invented the leaning rider for the motorcycle decades ago. The feet and hands attach to the pegs and bars. My leaning rider HOR 10th scale moto is the smoothest (not fastest) and looks killer on the courts. You can go watch my videos if you want to see some cool RC F1 and Moto videos. @@UppfinnarAXEL
Yes! This is rad! The right direction!
This is great! It looks really cool too, seeing the rider lean is awesome.
Connect him to the steering and will auto shift
Gran bel progetto...bel video... ciao dall'Italia
This is an awesome concept! Great video! I have been thinking of making something similar for a while but never gotten around to actually doing it. I thought of just making a simple weight that shifts left and right but the driver being the weight like on a real snowobile looks great. 👍
Have you set up the rider lean servo to change directions in order to counter steer over a certain speed? Should be easy as heck on the TX16
No, I just do it manually. But that’s a good idea if it’s possible on a pistol grip controller
Hey from experience from playing with the geometry on my 2020 axys if you raised the height of the front end more you'll end up with a more controllable machine and it won't want to dig the front end into the snow quite so bad so you'll get stuck less its basically like looking at a proride chasis vs an axys chasis the other thing to mess about with that makes a difference is the attack angle of the front of the track the steeper it is the more it will want to trench and pick up the front end and also the track shocks too stiff in the front soft in the rear and your getting more skilift but stiffer in the rear will climb better without trenching as bad
Great information! 👍
Do you have an alpha 6?? I bet you could get some different results using the og alpha 6 a arms since theyre scale and not wide at all might be able to carve better
Unfortunately no. I think you’re right, the skeeride a-arms are too wide. I tried to shorten them but it was hard because the shocks wouldn’t fit.
What size battery do you got in that rider thats sick i wanna make my yamaha like that my skidoo and cat are too heavy id imagine
It has a 3s 2200mah lipo. I am going to release a how to build video and also the files at some point, but I’m not sure if I should do that before the contest ends January 31. Even though my sled is quite heavy, this rider will tilt the sled easily so I think it would work on yours too.
Keep your secrets till after the contest yea it would be extra time and money to get shocks and mod the a arms to be shorter i think you will definitely do really well in the contest considering you had a moving rider a few years ago aswell@UppfinnarAXEL
Nice! This is awesome! You may want to think about changing the title before the contest deadline to ensure that Pascal of RC Creations finds it. I'm not sure if you were the first to use the leaning rider with the servo in the upper half of the body of the rider but I am using that as part of the setup for what I'm planning on entering for the contest, if you were the first I hope you don't mind. I'm planning on a couple of other mods in addition to help with stability. Good luck in the contest!
I suppose you mean my old rider in my other videos. I actually downloaded that one from discord so it’s fine. Good luck you too!
Best fire motors😂
I tried to print this and everything was nice ,but on the top station i think one part is missing and that part connects the Wheel and the bar.Very nicely designed lift!👌
Thank you! I discovered that the part was simply under the base station folder, I wonder why no one has mentioned this before. Fixed now anyways.
I want that
Build one!
Can i get one for 1500 SEK
Unfortunately, I don’t sell my snowmobiles, but many people do in the skeeride discord
Absolutely brilliant build! Anyway you can share the stl and build material?
Thank you! Yes i have now tested this hull design, and the files will soon be available
I decided to take a small fee for the files. Get them here at CGTrader: www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/other/fast-82cm-mono-hull-80kmh-rc-boat
You should put this link in the description. Looks awesome!
@@petersnedeker3942 Done! thank you very much!
Great performance! She sounds good too. And you have a beautiful spot to run your boats 👌 Maybe you can try a more aggressive pitch prop, such as a 43 or 44mm 1.6 pitch, for even more speed. Watch your setup temperatures though. ✌️ DJ
Thanks, the motor or the esc does not even get warm, so I will try 1.6p 44mm or 45mm 👍
STL?
Might release them soon, but I want to test it first
And also modify some things

Not really but it’s quite fast for a duck
I Like this Design. Perfect 👍
i have wanted a rc sled for many years but i dont know how to build them and this is perfect for the place i live on but i dont have a 3d printer so i cant build it and it looks so fun to play with
