Can you please let us know what mm thickness plate is used for the towbar mounts ?
Girl has got some fine legs.
6:58 what's the hole for? There's a factory hole 2 inches away from where you drilled. Could you use that?
Hey guys, Hodgson’s Hideaway is my parents property and just loved that I stumbled upon it. What a great video! I have sent onto them to watch. They will be excited to see it. Thanks so much for sharing 😊
Unfortunately while they say that it fits both the 3 and 5 door the back of the 5 door is very different and the loom will not fit. Just something to be aware of if you intend to mount one on a 5 door.
Hi Guys, Great video but the music is way too loud, Cheers.
Це свято. Теж мрію. Україна
why do you keep the hitch in the receiver even when you aren't using it?
is there any specific reason why u had to drill that new hole instead of using the one right beside the hole with the grommet already in place?
If a place won't allow my dog, then I wont go, my dog is more important to me than any place to visit.
LOVE Freddy Cam 😂
So do we 🤣
Just found your channel, so will be watching your story from here on. Thank you for being honest about your anxiousness…so many ppl getting new vans and towing for the first time like it’s nothing. It’s a bit stressful when you are new to it!! So thank you for your honesty. Looking forward to the rest of your videos :-)
Thank you so much!
Carefull guys. Winden falls has taken a few poor souls over the years. If you like hiking, mt bartle frere is a ripper. 10 - 14 hours up and down depending on fitness.
Thanks! We have heard that one is meant to be epic!
Holy smokes the dogs are cute!
Thanks! 😊 we think so too 🐶
ha ha😆
I'm from Innisfail - born and bred and I absolutely loved your vid 💚💯
Thanks! 🥰
Nice van, great storage, thanks for sharing all your tips. Great ideas!
No worries! 😁
Dogs are super cute
We think so too 🥰
Guys I purchased 1 and found out that it's not made in Australia, assembled is different to made
Thanks for the comment. We will look in to it!
Im from srilanka .i will come australia .yours caravan is very nice .i like it😍
Thanks!
If you drill holes in the car you lose your 12 year anticorosion warranty.
Yeah right. 12 months doesn’t get you too far anyway though 😅
You got to see a local crossing the track. That's awesome!
Yeah it was very cool!
Whats the tire pressure i want to know
Honestly we didn’t even let any air out of the tyres 😆 the car is that light you’d have to be in very soft sand before you ran in to trouble
Nice guys, Could you tow a tiny with overall weight of around 1100kg with the Jimmy you reckon? Cheers 👍🏽
Yeah definitely! I mean nothing too big but the Jimny can easily tow a tinny
Do you find the Land Rover is plenty enough powerful? Or can you recommend a good towing car to look into? I’m pretty clueless sorry 😂
We have a 100 series landcruiser which is pretty good as far as older cars go. Depends if you want a wagon or a Ute? And how heavy your van is 😅
Drones give such awesome images of the places you visit, and this is one of the best examples. Amazing! You guys are really settling in to this, looking forward to what’s to come….
Thanks Ross!
Thank God for a drone, it seems a little odd walking to the headwaters of a waterfall. Even in the middle of summer the water is frigid and cold. Millaa Millaa has great caravan parking and an incredibly great little cafe for lunch, we loved it. The falls are just georgeous.
That makes us feel better for not swimming 😆 such an epic waterfall
Hi guys so glad to meet you your advice on the airhead toilet was very informative we are looking at purchasing a zone in a couple of years was it hard for zone to change to the airhead great advice on containers we really enjoyed your vlog 🤗🤗🤗
Not hard at all. I think they charged us extra for an installation fee which was like $300 but yeah that was it 😁 there was a big wait time though for delivery - we ordered ours 3 months out and it arrived 4 days before our pick up date. So if you are thinking of it order sooner rather than later 😊
Nice video just wondering what the puppies do while you are walking?
We had some beautiful neighbours that offered to look after them for the morning
Wow!! Stunning!!
Thanks 😁
Great video very scenic
Thanks Ron! The waterfalls were just beautiful
Great episode again guys. You had me holding my breath when you were on the edge though 😯 The drone footage was epic. I have a question about where you're leaving your van when you do these day trips. We have left our van on the coast when we did the Big and Little Crystal Creek, Wallaman Falls, Cardwell Spa circuit, etc. We're currently at Hull Heads and our next stop is Mission Beach. We're going to Cairns via Paronella Park (based on your earlier episodes). Any ideas for a base for the hinterland would be great.
Sounds like you're having a great trio! And we hope you enjoy paronella pro as much as we did 😁 We stayed at 2 different places while up in the atherton tablelands. First one was Bondario RV park which was great! Not too $$ and you can spot platypus down the back. www.bonadiorvandnaturepark.com/ The other spot was at lake eachem caravan park. That wasn't a bad Park but there's no reception for 4G unless you go in to the cafe which made planning stuff hard. Hope that helps 😌
@@JessandColby thanks heaps for the two suggestions 💕
No wonder you couldn't get directions from the horse, his voice was to '' Hoarse ''. Enjoyed the walks with yous, Lots to see up there, can't wait to visit, Cheers Bevan 🤠❤️🇦🇺
Haha good one Bevan! Thanks 😁
That was a great run through the Bloomfield Track, thanks for a very entertaining video. We just come back from there Monday week past 1/08/2022 so we were at Cape Trib 24/07/2022. We left the van at Mowbray River Road, Big 4 caravan park (Port Douglas) because I wasn't sure what we would be facing. The highlight for me was Mossman Gorge, what a fantastic place. Hauling the van up over the range to get to Cooktown was also pretty good. It would have been very exciting for you being a science teacher at Kulki Lookout, it is a nice little spot.
How good! It’s such a beautiful area isn’t it 😍
congrats on your trip !🏞️📹🛻😎🤙
Thanks!
Couldn’t hear speaking just that, music.
Bugger! We had a copy right issue with the previous song which was no longer able to be used so tried to change it on TH-cam and it’s just done it full blast rather than background music 🙈 will have to look in to it thanks for letting me know!
@@JessandColby no music is better
Thanks for the tour, plan to do north Qld in a few years, Last time our family was there , 1966 Tolga Caravan Park, I was 7. Enjoyed the adventure, loved the small python ( or carpet ), Last time I saw one was when I was mustering, rode horse over one , huge blue colour, gave me a fright, half was up a hollow log, lucky horse didn't notice. Cheers Bevan 🤠❤️🇦🇺
Thanks Bevan! We love far NQ! Such a beautiful spot and the wild life was pretty cool 🐍
Another awesome episode. Of course I took heaps of notes. I love your honesty, gotta love some of those Wikicamps points of interest 🤣. Area looks amazing! Looking forward to seeing it for ourselves.
Haha thanks Donna! There are so many sometimes it can get overwhelming 😆
Good job, Jess, I loved your storage tips n tricks!
Thanks Tracy 😁 I tried to be thorough as I remember searching for ideas in the lead up to getting our van
Use hand held two way radios for reversing it makes it a whole lot easier
We have spoke about this many times haha such a good idea
Great video guys, Can I ask what colour did you order for the Drop Bear storage pockets as we have the same colour in our Zone.
We ordered the Mushroom colour ☺️ they sent us a bunch of samples first though which was great so we could see which colour we liked the most
Hey guys, we’re confused as we thought you sold the van due to it not suiting your needs? Is this an old video reposted?
Yeah it’s an old video 😅 we were trying to stay ahead of content haha but have been slack since leaving qld. Currently in WA with our camper trailer
Great vids guys, LOVE the Zone vans. Just an idea, we bought a couple of Firestryker's - not the cheapest but awesome for all types of fires in van or car. Mount one in car cabin and one in van in an easy to access location.
Awesome idea! Thanks
One suggestion - you REALLY need to move your fire extinguisher from where it is. If you have a fire, especially around the cooktop, there's no way you'd be able to get to that extinguisher in a hurry or safely. We remounted ours above the main door, so can be reached from outside the van or inside - just step onto the top step if you're outside, and reach up to grab the extinguisher. That's where it's mounted on the Off-Road series of vans, so we had Zone move ours to there - took them 15 minutes to do it.
Thanks for the tip!
Quick question: why aren't you allowed to use the bayonet bbq outlets?
It’s to do with new laws in Australia. Currently the regulations are that if a BBQ, like a Weber Q are attached to a caravan by way of a bayonet fitting they are considered a fixed appliance and therefore must be fitted with a Flame Failure safety system (this will allow the gas to stop if the flame goes out) - but webers do not have these yet so legally you can’t use. There are some other brands that are legal and I think they are working on a part to make it legal
@@JessandColby oh wow! We were going to grab a bbq hose to use from BCF when we get to Townsville 😕 perhaps we'll give it a miss and keep the swap'n go.
@@donnaroberts8791 it will avoid any warranty if you have a gas explosion too. I think the ziggie is the only one that’s legal but it’s like $800 😅
@@JessandColby and that is why I love watching your TH-cam channel. I get educated in legislation and save voiding our warranty 👌🤣
Haha happy to help!
Jess!hiya!~Thanks!you made stunning , ))
looks fun
It was a fun drive!
My partner Betty and I rode the Bloomfield track on our pushies 2012, part of our ride from the Gold Coast to Cooktown. We certainly caught other travelers attention.
What an awesome way to do the track!!
I probably saw, or even met you. I lived in Bloomfield at that time and worked for the bus service (and at the school). We'd run 22-seat RWD Coaster buses up the Track in the Dry season.
Brad, I can remember a bus load of tourist stopping take pictures of Betty and myself, yes, an interesting ride over rivers huge pythons spiders.
When we drove that same concrete ramp 9 years ago the tourist info mud map we were using said that the gradient was somewhere between 30 to 33% incline! It's steep!
Yeah right, it is really steep hey! Made for an interesting drive haha
My wife's car is always on empty when I need to use.
Haha so she’s one of “those” that likes to push it to the limits 😆
