Hello, my name is Ken, and I'm a brain tumor survivor.(warrior). One of my goals with this channel is to encourage others with, or without, health problems to get up and find a daily reason to live life to the fullest. I've been fighting the good fight against a grade 2, now a grade 3, oligodendroglioma tumor, since 2010. Its in the parietal lobe of my brain and tries to make a come back every couple of years. I’ve lost a portion of my skull - MRSA inaction, as well as roughly 60% of the feeling in the left side of my body(due to a ministroke during the initial craniotomy. The ole memory has been severely diminished from the surgeries and chemotherapy/radiation treatments. I’m human and sometimes get a bit depressed and/or angry at the physical and mental limitations imposed by the tumor. So come follow me on my journey to help not only myself but also my fellow warriors.

I was on Procarb + Ceenu (4 cycles) and Temo (last 2), the PC cycles were terrible ... feel for you. Temo was not much better, just did not get worse.
In comparison, I would take Temodar over over Ivosidinib. I’m not a fan of sixty day cycles, with no off days. Ah well, after 14+years of fighting,it’s just another day. Cheers.🤙
At least I can never do radiation again.
Finally got a little snow.
Hey Brother! I've been thinking of you 🍻 Are you anywhere near Fancy Gap or Big Walker Mtn tunnel?
Looks like I am roughly 91 miles-according to my map app.
Happy New Year. Wishing you all the best for 2025 😊
Thank you very much. Belated well wishes to you and your family.
hapy 2025 hope all is well, check with your doc for any exercises...dont follow anyone on youtube for exercises..best to you bud.
Because of bullying as a kid, I have been training since the late seventies. The martial training helped me get out of a wheelchair, after a mini-stroke during the initial craniotomy.
Hi from Belgium, do you receive the medicine called "vorasidenib"?
Yes, I am taking the Ivosidinib(Tibsovo). I had been taking Temodar since 2010, in between radiation and craniotomies.
Great to see you out Ken, great to see you getting a bit of time in the great outdoors. Take care brother and a Very Happy Christmas you you too :o)
Thank you for your kind comment. The chemo drains the energy from the very marrow of my bones.
I Love to see your videos from Kashmir India
I have always wanted to visit India. My first university degree focused on Asia.
@ReasontoLiveAdventures but I am not from India I'm from Kashmir worldest most beautiful place
My apologies. The chemo and radiation have done a lot of damage to my long term memory. I have one degree in Asian Studies and another in Middle Eastern Studies. These days everything everything gets mixed together, especially now that I am doing another cycle of Ivosidinib.
A little balmy today….Not!🤨
Hi from Belgium. Do you take the médecine called "vorasidenib" ?
Yes, I am currently taking Ivosidinib(Tibsovo). It’s easier on the body than Temodar used to be.
I’m having a good day, which is rare on the medication. Cheers everyone.🤙
fantastic & thumbs up 👍🍀✨
Keep up the good fight mate
Thanks Chris. 🤙
@@ReasontoLiveAdventures your welcome bud
You are incredibly resilient. I can’t imagine what you are going through. Keeping you close in my heart as you continue this journey. Love you all!
Thank you for those kind words. Bruce Lee wrote that one should not pray for an easy life. Instead, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.
Today was one of those days that test one’s resolve. 👍
Hey how you're doing?? You're doing great?? 😊
I am doing well. Still on my lifelong quest of enlightenment.🧘♂️
Hey brother! May I contact u? X? WhatsApp?
I have an X account, but no WhatsApp.
I bet the sunny warmth felt good 😎. Soon enough it will be… 🥶
Aye, my family are from this mountain, and winters can be a pain in the arse.🤙
I miss riding a dual sport on this road. 😢
An exceptionally beautiful day here in Virginia. On the way up the mountain, to decorate graves.
Best thirty five bucks spent in a while. 🤙
Nice soundtrack
Great to see you brother! 🍻
On a long break from chemo, and loving coming out of the chemo “fog”.🤙
@@ReasontoLiveAdventures Right on! 😎
I need to get out and do a long format(30min) video.
@@ReasontoLiveAdventures That'd be sweet!
Thank you so much for sharing your video
Thank you for watching.
What a beautiful day, until I discovered my wallet was gone. Note to self: always empty pockets BEFORE riding.😂
RIP Shannon. I wish you well in your own fight, sir.
Thank you, it’s been a fourteen year fight. Mine is a grade 3 oligodendroglioma in the parietal lobe of my brain.
@@ReasontoLiveAdventures I'm so sorry to hear that. My sister has brain cancer, Glioblastoma. It's a rough road for her so I understand your battle somewhat. Prayers for you🙏
My goodness rest in peace Shannon.
They say that heat tempers the spirit I agree with that.

Wow that was rain and something I am getting real sick of in the UK at the movement - wettest start to the year I can ever remember. To be fair, if you are outdoors and you are keeping dry, the sound of that rain is quite relaxing but like you say, it was a good test of your set up. Man did you say 14 years you have been fighting this awful disease - you my friend are a true warrior! I got my fingers crossed for you that insurance will be your friend for the forthcoming round of treatment you are going to have to have, so my best wishes also go to you with my crossed fingers. Take care my friend, cheers Alan
Thank you Alan, I appreciate the kind note. It’s been a long strange trip, to borrow from Jerry Garcia, since waking from that coma.🤙🧘♂️
A heavy rain was a good test for my hammock setup.
I used to before the brain tumor, the love is slowly coming back.👍
Love camping in rainy weather
I was impressed with the hammock setup. It took about twenty minutes to figure out the set process. 🤙💧
What stage you have
Mine is grade three now.it was a 2 for almost thirteen years. Then it got very aggressive. On 03/21/23, I underwent another craniotomy,, which removed most of the tumor.
@@ReasontoLiveAdventures sir my husband have grade 2 oligodendrogloima
@@ReasontoLiveAdventures sir is it serious
I am saddened to read of your husband’s grade 2 oli. It is a difficult diagnosis to accept.
Cheers everyone.
A comfortable bag can accompany you over mountains and ridges
I completely agree. The Osprey is the most comfortable pack I own.
Keep on fighting brother and it that is helping you, keep on doing it! Take care and sending you the very best of wishes from the UK!
Thank you Alan. One of my daily mantras comes from The Shawshank Redemption. “Get busy living, get busy dying.” It’s literally that simple.
I will try this at work manana. It tends to be stressful there sometimes and this looks like it will be good for destressing and relaxing!
I have studied Asian history and philosophy for most of my life. If I can use that knowledge to help someone, it will bring me contentment.
Thank you for the positive comment, I really appreciate it.🤙
All give you a big shout out mate on me lakedistrck cave camp mate .
Ah, the Lake District has been on my bucket list for several years. Thank you for the comment.
Keep fighting mate your an inspiration to everyone ❤
Godbless man
Thank you very much. I appreciate the kind note.
Great video man! 💪🏻🙏🏻
Thank you very much. 😎🇺🇸
My stance was a little off, but that’s ok, you get the idea.🤙
You touched my heart tonight man. Keep up the positivity! Stay strong brother 💜
I thank you for your kind note. It’s been a long strange trip, since opening my eyes from the chemically induced coma. I miss the “old me”, but I push forward because Confucius taught that dwelling on the past leads to depression. “Get busy living, get busy dying”, is my mantra these days.
Does the video continue? I’m currently on round 3 of Temodar and was curious about the difference between it and tibsovo.
I had to take Temodar for eight and nine months at a time, starting back in 2010. The difference in how I feel is amazing. The Temodar actually mutated a portion of my oli, which is why I am taking the Ivosidenib now.i would definitely ask your doctor about it.
@@ReasontoLiveAdventures thank you for sharing! I did first 6 weeks and now finishing round 3 of 12 of the 5 day on/ 23 day off cycles. Definitely going to ask about it on my next visit.
I am happy that I was able to help. Feel free to reach out anytime you have a question. 🤙
Carpe Diem every day🤙
Hellooo i just found your channel, may i ask you did you do any specific diet while having the tumor? Or do some alternative treatment while doing the conventional treatment? Thank youu ❤
No, not really. I have exercised and followed a pretty good nutrition routine for most of my adult life. Which has helped me recover from the various treatments I have had to do. My study of tai chi chuan and chi gong are two of the major things that have helped more than anything.
Keep fighting and absolutely beautiful out there. Praying for healing and strength
First keep going 💪 👏
Been fighting the oligodendroglioma in my head for almost fourteen years. I was told that I would probably never get out of a wheelchair, and life expectancy was roughly five years. 🤙
