Sybil, when she promotes to Paladin, gets +Leader points, I think 10. You see the little flag icon pop over her when it happens. That explains why her capacity increases.
i guess everyone has wildly different experiences/playstyles. im very surprised at the low swordmaster, sentinel and champion rating and the high assassin/ranger rating. have been using swordmaster extensively and id easily put this class S, they can break through practially any frontline easily and are very evasive if built right - a squad with ~5-6 of these works wonders, but even just adding 2 on some other teams helps alot. champion/zweihander work wonders if mixed together in the frontline and id therefore put them around A providing decent defense and quite good dmg. sentinel is also good, but a bit more niche and defensively, so i go heavy on defensive traits like resolve/bodyguard etc. - i usually use him to protect something very squishy like a templar, -50% firearm dmg is no joke BUT also provides "polearm mastery" to adjacent units, but i think usually u just want 1 of him - so around B. assassin/ranger from my experience was average so i dont know, not only are they squishy but they often lacked the dmg i needed. after their ambush/stealth attack they really kinda lack the "ooomph" and in my cases a backline usually isnt a problem anyways as i obliterate the frontline so hard that healing in many cases wont be a big issue - therefore id put them between B and C aside from these there is a few more things i wanna mention: - one single sorceress on many teams, can be an abolutely great addition, daze/stun is very strong + they attack first(works also good in conjunction w swordmasters for example) - A - paladin is by far my most used unit, just bcuz of how tanky and versatile they are, cuz sometimes u want protection + healing + dmg, but maybe dont want a squishy templar. these are great on so many teams and almost never bad and can be put on any squadposition. especially good choice for front/back-line - A - samurai/centurions id both put between A and B, they are in general very flexible and versatile both defensively and offensively - i feel they are quite underrated - gunners in my opinion are really underwhelming until u unlock their trait in the tech tree, so until u reach that point i put them C, after that im ok with A. - knights for me are kinda underwhelming too, feeling medium tanky and medium dmging. i feel like every other cavalry unit is better than knight is and if i make a cavalry squad and want something tanky id rather use zweihander/champion frontline and the rest cavalry units - between B and C - 3 dragonriders frontline with dark affinity, each with executioner trait, 1 with rally trait and remaining 2 with cold blooded trait, is something i have been running for quite a while and it works wonders - S (also add a templar and paladins) - beatrix + sin credo artifact is godlike personally speaking i almost never felt i was severly limited by resources in this game, majority i needed was obsidian/sunstones for swordmasters and paladins/valkyries. i didnt use any cannons and few gunners so i simply exchanged my pyrocite if i had issues. so yea im not considering any cost in my ratings.
Where would you place the new units from the Legends DLC?
This guide is so helpful to a beginner like me, but there are spoilers .. 😢
Very nice video! I've recently fallen into this game and played it a lot over the weekend. I don't quite agree with your opinion. You know, Chinese are glad to "kill" games. I found some formulas online from other programmers who unpacked the game data(I really dislike they hide game's calculation formulas btw). The amount of healing depends on both healer's magic and the healed unit's magic. So, the Paladin and Valkyrie with anti-magic and heal ability are perhaps best tank. However, they are vulnerable to gunpowder, so sentinel with anti-cavalry and anti-firearm also makes a great tank. Other heavy infantry units are JUST trash (since they're only used as tank). However zweihander is ok. I never use firearms, mages and dragons cuz their bonuses can only be get in late game. Moreover mages also suffer from magic decrease. Swordmaster is *DEFINITELY* S-tier unit, with priority in attacking and high damage, almost capable of taking down the opponent's frontline tank in one turn. I also really like arbalest, almost every team has one too. They strike first to weaken the enemy, then team up with the Knight, Diana, or coldblooded zweihander to avoid overkill. Additionally, crossbow helps prevent morale loss from defeats when facing archers. My light infantry squad usually includes 1 paladin, 1 healer, 1 ranger, 1 assassin, 1 arbalest, 1 zweihander(or sentinel) and 1-2 swordmasters, which can kill almost any opponent and still has decent survivability. *edit:* Crossbow also benefit from a weird glitch from the tech named Polearm Mastery which grant bonus attack based on weapon stat of any same line unit. So I always place crossbow near light infantry to guarantee 1-hit KO. In addition, due to crossbow's damage amplifier ability, a 6-9 units pure horse archer squad with 1 crossbow every single line can even kill a heavy infantry squad instead of just harassing when equipped the sword which ignores 20% armour cuz arrow has higher punishment against armour than melee.
Champion is an obvious S tier.
Thank you! :)
Thank you! :)
Hello! :) THANK YOU!!! I was a bit lost and scared after dipping my toes in the game and not knowing what to do or fearing doing things wrong but thanks to you I believe I can try my first run! :D If I were to want to play other games like this one on Steam, which one would you recommend? :) Thanks for everything once again! :D
This is the first time I see a "10-tips" video that last over an hour.
the ambush is really good for jules, i found legendary heroes with knight captain or musketeer captain.abygail and lysander are my best leader with +15 capacity unit
I love seeing pretty ladies in S tier
A ruthless dictator
Hard disagree on swordmaster. Got a squad of them, they were freaking awesome in ambush and even in general. They performed really well against all type of unit, specifically with wrecking a frontline. Their skill facilitate a lot the crit, helping with dealing a killing blow, and their dodge really upped their survivality. In the hardest difficulty setting, got a squad of them and they were one of my best one.
I know I'm kinda late to the party, but whatever. IDK if they changed the turn order, but guns and cannons go first- and they go by row order. Light infantry goes before heavy, who go last. Rangers and assasins are extremely squishy. Most of my ambush teams will have sword masters at the front because they hit decently hard, tank decently well (for light inf) and aren't too hard to get. They can get quite killy with some crit investments. Ambush squads are damn strong, but aren't so great in the games many open fields. Knights are expensive- but they are kings of the open field- well worth the investment for one or two squads. Cav shock would be OP if the enemy AI didn't spam spears and centurions after a certain point- they can basically ignore the presence of archers. add a Valkyrie or two for a little bit more staying power and they will last a long time without much support. Paladins- especially with a little healer support- are absurdly tanky. They don't do a ton of reliable damage so back them with mages or dragons or something capable of bringing a lot of pain. Basically, their job is to get hit a lot and they do it better than Sentinels. Warbows are one of my favorite classes. You can pick up a tech that let's them Ambush- which doesn't *sound* especially useful, but it let's them attack enemy archers without reprisal at range. They make both defensive and offensive sieges a lot easier. They'll butcher gunners, cannoneers, and mages by the truckload with a little investment- not so great against heavy inf, of course, and you gotta watch out for knights, but that's a given. Zweihanders can shred light inf.... But so can Centurions. And Centurions are immune to cav shock and do bonus damage to cav units on top of hitting multiple enemies at once. They are also fairly tanky. Niether are great at killing heavy inf- one of the more common types of troops in the game- but at least centurions can reach in and touch the healers and mages in the middle row. I'll generally keep one or two squads just to serve as cav bait/cleanup. Templar heals are a *lot* stronger in and out of battle than a pally or a valkyrie. Worth having at least a couple in your army, and if you have a squad meant for area denial/tarpitting/ground holding they are a great addition. For someone who likes cannons as much as you do, I'm suprised that you don't value units that are good at holding chokepoints. The game has tons of them and bottling enemies up then shelling them to death with cannon teams or warbows is very effective. Heck, this kind of strat allows you to go whole hog on warbow teams- just nine warbows and nothing else. I haven't used Champions enough to judge them just yet. their reqs are kind of prohibitive and their stats don't look that impressive. cannons are great but I hate guns. Gunmen will get shredded by any decent bow enemy or thief, they don't do enough damage to kill the tankier enemies quickly (like paladins). You basically need to get to the end of two tech trees to make them truly good. Plus they use one of the rarest resource types to recruit- not worth it IMO. If I don't kill a team in one turn then I should at least thin their numbers- and guns are bad at that unless you go all in on them. Dragons are great in general. They are pretty much anti-everything. But also damn expensive and limiting, because they take two spaces. Sentinels.... Honestly, they suck. They are mid as meatshields and bad as damage dealers. can't recommend using them. They are easy to get, however, and so have some utility.
better than the video itself! cheers!
knights are so god damn good i baited myself into overmaking them
Fk i really wish you would have at least said massive spoilers were going to be in this tier list before you announced stuff like jules is a freakin king.... thanks bro!!!!!!
Bro ive only just started this game, & i love it but what your saying is gibberish to me, you look powerful as! Can you give beginner tips instead of such powerul army tips. Like i said im still new it doesnt make sense what you saying.
I dont know understand this game… 10 times to hard for me and Im playing in normal mode. Im probably stupid but i dont understand how bit them their units are much more powerful than mine
How do you S Rank while also getting the achievement? Is it even possible?
good thing i skip to the end of the video because this video actually didn cover all unit. and the information im looking for actually not included
I think to be fair, you should also consider the cost and availability of the units. A cheap effective unit is still better than an expensive effective unit. That mean, I will rank Knight higher than firearm since Knight is easier to mass product and perform well against many enemies.
Full damage team is bad..unless you always bring tank squad team with noisy cricket nearby..unless its a cannoners
Sentinel is S for me helps me alot to survive...only if there pvp then its lower
Do you know other games like this?i beat hard mode..i wont dare going for the harder one..
Mage nukes destroy the game
year late to the party but picked up the game and so far this has been quite helpful.
good stuff ty
You clearly don't understand how to use Jaromir, otherwise you'd have him on B-tier at least.
I half accidently watched the part around 36:00... and at least in the newest patch, whatever Iron and obsidian you used you would get back after unlocking that top skill so i would say it was kinda worth it.
heh, watching this after just beating the game for the first time (I played the toughest difficulty without permadeath tho). Some things I did a bit the same but it seems you have many things planned better. One tip that worked really well for me tho: For beatrix, equip her with the item that makes your allies attack for 25% less but which gives your leader double attack. It´s really good with Beatrix since her attack is so strong but normally only comes out once.
Is anyone making a current tier list for the DLC?
Guys there amazing thing about this game is there is no tier list. It is all about how you build your team.
Very good video, I would like to know what are the best tactics for light infantry squads, they die very quickly
1. Always move with a bait squad. The Bait squad can neither protect the LIS nor lure the enemy squad move near to the bush for the ambush. 2. Mix between Rangers + Assassins to make a volley (Don't go full for any types, that will be a waste because they will target the corpses). 3. Disarm is a great trait for LIS if you can't take the enemy squad down in 1 hit. Along with Treasure Hunter or Thievery (For farming resources). 4. Target Enemy Mage/Assassin/Ranger Squad (the one with highest CP). Always start an ambush if possible. 5. Bring 1 Oracle/Valkyrie/Templar for survival Range attack or on Defense. You can turn the table with LIS if they're all survive. Especially an Oracle with high SKL is great.
Cool video!
I just recently bouhgt this game on steam, so this will greatly help me.
Have fun!
If you can survive the failed surrender attempt you can have them surrender on a 1 hit attack
Thanks for the video! Can you please tell me if your 10 tips are 100% or mostly updated to December, 2023 and with the DLC updated patches etc.? Happy 2024!
Hey! Sorry I am not sure, I haven't played the DLC yet so I cannot confirm. But if you find out, please let me know! I am sure most of them still apply.
you are the only man who really explain about these tokens arena because I was clueless about the leveling is kinda tough , when you level them up you cant do the objectives is that important for tokens???? will I get items anyway?>?
If I recall correctly, you still need to win the map in order to keep the levels. Otherwise, you will lose the time you spent in the arena. After winning, you still get some resources but not the maximum; but that is fine if you use my money making tip to make money elsewhere.
HI THINK ITS TIME FOR A UPGRADE SEE WITH THE NEW DLC YOU GOT MORE WORK TO DO
Hello, i know this an old video, but I was wondering if could share the program script to calculate all the stats that you have. Seems very interesting . Don’t know if you still have it as i know you have moved on to others game. Last time i saw a video of you was when Dubsteprod invited you to talk in his channel. I am currently in his guid . Cheers
I have a question. You stated in the unit composition section that you put a Polearm unit between your Assassina ti boost their damage. Dont Polesrm units provide a boost only to adjacent Polearm Units?
Hello! I have not played the game in a while but I found online the description for the Polearm Mastery. It says "Polearm units now grant bonus attack and defense versus melee to any adjacent units." Adjacent means to their left and right, therefore units in the same row. Now the description is not very great and it does not specify that it applies only to other polearm units. So back then, I assumed it granted an attack bonus but I might have been wrong.
maybe they fix the bug, now the Arena can not level up infinitely, each squad can only take 3 times attack from one same enemy squad with XP, no matter the level is lower or higher
Yeah they likely changed that. I know there is a DLC so maybe they modified the game a lot.
As a new player, I have to say Stefen is not good at early to medium stage of game, the rogue or assasin team is so weak to defense, if Stefen squad can not one-shot enemy squad in first turn, they'll be suffer heavy loss.
He's very good with a mix of Rangers and Swordmasters.
You might wanna consider ambush tiles and the fact that rangers get increased evasion on them, so put them in the front. Then try to get Assassin's Reaper trait on some of them to keep them with some sustain. Precision is also amazing to deal with heavy armor. You can mix in swordmasters and they can frontline extremely well too.
Just got this game! And this walkthrough is helping me massively. There is a lot to know!
39:40 “I’m a greeeeeeeeen unit “
How is Jaromir bad? His trait might be useless, but he starts with a very high capacity. I was able to stick 3 dragons, a paladin and a templar on his team immediately when I unlocked him, a full team without any investment. His leadership was only lower than my two most used characters at that point. EDIT: later I figured out that, because he is cavalry, his unit can't fly. RIP. Ended up giving his dragons to Beatrix when I recruited her. With Ataraxia and Imperial War Banner, she can rear 3 dragons from the get-go. As for Jaromir, I guess I would place him in low B tier, his only good point is the very high capacity. I suggest giving him a Captain trait and filling his team with 9 units.
If squad is done correctly, Jaromir is a beast, no matter whether hes on tundra or not. Any leader has the potential to be awesome with the right squad setup and artifacts. Also need to use them for the right situations.
Aunque el idioma es una Barrera, gracias a los traductores simultáneos, he aprendido mucho gracias a tú gran trabajo en el vídeo. Muchas gracias!!!!
Three Samurai in the front row of a cavalry bow unit just in case they get into melee is a must.
swordmasters are insain with diana why? cause they attack before diana and can clear the front row the diana and her front line can now kill the second row. people remember how you build can make or break a squad. also i would love to see what he think of the changes with the DLC. it has changed the game a bit.
if u use my tip....if u use my trick...if u use my xxxx....u say the same thing many many times in the video. deep breath dude. slow it down a lil bit.
Hahaha! yeah I do tend to talk fast and I have an accent too. :D I'll keep your comment in mind for my future video, thanks!
