My Hopes & Worries for: Dragons Dogma 2
Just saw this video. No way the mess that is Far Cry 6 is better than Far Cry 2. The DLC is, sadly, the ONLY reason to play 6. I do agree with the rest of your list. Far Cry 5 is my number 1 as well. They knocked it out of the park with that one. Subscribed. 😁
The game did give you the option to be with Pagan. "Stay here. Enjoy the Crab Rangoon. Don't. Move. I'll be right back." He is very particular with his words.
Far Cry:New Dawn could’ve been better. I mean yeah we can you Armour Piercing rounds. But healthbars from 2-Elite it’s really annoying. I do agree with that so much. I only like ND because of Joseph Seed & New Eden section & some old FC5 characters. Like Nick Rye… and The Judge aka Deputy. Also I miss a lot cars and guns and customisation from FC5… Joseph Seed was right indeed. Ubisoft are evil.
What is the music from 8:48?
Auf welcher Plattform hast du FC 1 gespielt ?
Modern gaming is more about profit, agendas (i.e. the message and "Modern Audience" bullshit) than entertainment
To say the world in Far Cry 3 is “identical” to 1’s just because it’s an island lol what a goofball. Rook Island is one of the most iconic & dynamic environments in gaming, let alone the Far Cry franchise. And then to say that SIDE QUESTS start to feel repetitive when literally that’s all you do in Far Cry 5 just to reach the next villain encounter is wild. Not even proper story missions in 5, no. What a ludicrous video.
Can you simply just rank the games properly and maybe not like, spoil some of them..?
Don't forget the creepy crypts and those white eyed ghouls. Could not see anything without cat potion and the sounds were really creepy.
A great vid!😁
Excellent video. For me personally, the main thing is getting lost in the incredible atmosphere, feeling like a part of this grand world, stopping in front of a cliff late at night, with this incredible soundtrack playing.
games are not about story, it's about game mechanics nowadays it's empty huge world, boring stories, repetitive game mechanics
Started watching but I don't like trans people catching strays like that
I just upgraded my CPU to practically the fastest CPU you can buy now.. but lately I've been playing older games that will work on a potato PC. I look at my collection and not a single AAA title really appeals to me. The makers put things into place that make me not buy games I normally would. 1 - Third party launchers in Steam. 2 - PSN Accounts for single player PC games. There's easily $1000 worth of games I want to play but, I won't put up with annoyances that get between me and the game. Either they re-consider or don't expect to get my money. I never pre-order and seldom day 1 purchase. Been burned too many times lately. If you pre-order, you're part of the problem.
GTA6 doesn't even have any of the founding rockstar staff working there anymore. Its GOING to be trash.
It's going ot be a "modern audience" flop...and I agree, did you see the type of "developers" they hired? leftist activists
Where new video, bro ? 😢
1:46 bro there's just no need to be homophobic....
FUCK... morrowind... probably me thinking of simpler times, but damn, they were simpler indeed, I miss them...
This was incredible and i beat it twice, i loved how fast you could run and feel like tarzan while hunting other cavemen and huge beasts
Well ubisoft , is crrntly humbled now..with the shadows problem... if they get that game right... they ll survive...
I was one of the one preorderers of GTA V for PC, after having played it quite a lot on my PS3. I do not plan to preorder any game nowadays, though. And I'm enjoying old single player games a lot. Currently, I'm still playing Red Read Redemption on the PS3, for example!
The big thing about the money aspect back then in comparison to now is that the money didn’t get in the way of developer passion, creativity and ambition but rather it encouraged it. Nowadays you cannot say the same at all when every game is the same play it safe greed fest.
In my opinion its definitely far cry 6
You're not wrong overall , but your perception of the talk of graphics in the past is very wrong. I as a kid remember people gushing over the n64 or the ps1 graphics. And so on. Every time the graphics get better people go nuts. My own dad talked about being disappointed in the old ataris for how basic they were compared to the arcade. But then the NES rolled around and it was a massive hit as you know. There is testimony on how incredible the collecovision graphics were. And back then they had to work harder for graphics than they do now. Nowadays, they load up unity or unreal engine and just bloat everything up and make you need a new pc for a game that looks barely better than a ps3 title. Back then you had people pulling programming mental gymnastics to get stuff to look good. I think the overarching issue is how mainstream gaming is now and how much money is in it. It's extremely corporate now. Doom was made by a few guys in a small office. Doom 2016 has hundreds of people in credits. Of course the gamers are responsible for a lot of it too as you said. Society in general is in decline and gamers are part of society.
Developers and hardware vendors go hand in hand....Its like they deliberately make game more "flashy" in order to help hardware vendors sell expensive components to PC gamers
When Morrowind is considered old 💀
As a newly, still studying programmer and designer, I feel the same
Apparently people cannot understand that sometimes (mostly in so called real life) both sides are horrible awful -Religious intolerant zaelot -Sadistic drug dealer wanting to replace current dictator -Genocidal drug trading dictator killing for fun What a great choice in that game
Even though Morrowind is clunky as hell, and the graphics are not good in comparison...I still never had more fun with an open world game. I played it when I was much older and finished it just before Skyrim came out. And as amazing as Skyrim was, I still had more fun with Morrowind (obviously vanilla to vanilla; mods changed everything, but I can't give credit to the OG devs for mods they didn't make)
I've been having such a blast on this game. I FINALLY got to enchant a piece of my gear with a constant restore fatigue effect. Next up is either 100 jump or levitation lmao
Do you ever feel compeled to beat or 'finish' games but really the game is not that great or just average? I feel guilty about it, its stupid lol
W list
My ranking (from what Ive played) 1. Far Cry 5 2. Far Cry Primal 3. Far Cry 4 4. Far Cry 3 (I know Im getting hate for this) 5. Far Cry New Dawn 6. Far Cry 6 (still havent Finished but it looks Like an easy last place for me sadly😅)
Got the secret ending by mistake, took a restroom break and came back to it lol
10/10 List for putting FC5 at 1
Complaining about gender options within the first 2 minutes... for literally no reason. Grow up. Get a life.
Far Cry 5 Is The Best
This is a beautiful video, subscribed.
It's interesting to hear your early 2000s perspective. From a late 90s perspective, I can say that it's false to say that games weren't about cutting edge graphics, but you are right that devs had to prove themselves by releasing a great game. I also agree that length isn't the problem with games, so much as games respecting our time.
Have you ever tried Kingdom Come Deliverance? It's normal mode is immersive character wise because you're a peasant with no skills and actually have to learn how to use a sword, bow and even read. Hardcore takes away the compass, hp/stamina bars and even the map marker which makes the world immersive as well. It forces you to learn how to live in the world and you have to navigate using the sun, cities and pathways to know where you're going. You ARE a medieval peasant with your only advantage having an inventory, teleporting horse and the ability to save and reload. Which is also limited to sleeping or an in game item that fairly easy to make or acquire.
I think the biggest issue with newer games is all of the unnecessary shit that none of us asked for.. Forced online play, downloads, installs, updates, DRM, account creation, etc.. We just wanna play games, not deal with all of that bullshit.
8. Name?
I agree
One of the very best videos, thank you :)
If you want great immersive stories read a book.
And this is why I feel disconnected and disinterested with modern "quadruple A" games
Yeah, I grew up on this, daggerfall, baldurs gate. The RPG bar was raised pretty high for me from a young age.
so basicaly that place is Libya and this guy is Ghadaffi lolll
I started with FC6. I'm an older person that got a PS5 about 8 months ago. It was awesome, I LOVED it, and made me an immediate fan of the vibe, so I've taken the advice of longtime gamers and worked my way backwards, lol. 5's intro was chilling and I enjoyed the game OK. I'm in the middle of 4 and started 3. They're a lot of fun. I'm loving 4 so much, but the older ones are WAY harder than FC6 for a relatively new gamer. I finished 6 on the level above normal. Anyways, I'm having a blast with them. Thanks for the video
How old are you? I bet you are not older than me. 😂 However, I love FC serial just as any random kid. Just love it. 😊
No judgement, if I discovered fc6 first it would be mind-blowing. But we've been playing all fsrcry games over 10 years since their releases. Have fun trying more games out.
The thing about older games is they were made for people who wanted to actually play video games, not just watch cutscenes. The gameplay was treated as the reason to get the game, not just something to plow your way through.
i always buy little older games even when its no i never preorder i always wait to the cheap and i play my older games in my tempo never rush my last new game was ff7 remake CUZ i grew up woth the orginal im not in that race im too old for that i know what good in gaming for me its paradox every year more and more games was released but not many for me and i think im not the only one
I played competitive multiplayer games for about 7 years, from 2010 through 2017. I did have some experiences with them prior to that, but that was the period of time where I was in that addiction phase - in my teens up through to the age of about 21. I left them behind on a mostly positive note, with the main reasons being that I was just tired of PvP after thousands of hours invested across multiple games, along with the fact that it felt like I was simply stagnating in them. I didn’t play games with friends, at least for the majority of the time, so the enjoyment came from the desire to improve and master the mechanics of play. By the time 2017 arrived, it felt like I’d hit a wall and reached my potential, which basically removed my motivation to continue playing those games. Now-a-days I’m much older and more experienced with games, and I could see myself probably enjoying competitive multiplayer again, but I’ve made the choice not to go back. And the reason is simple: I don’t want to sacrifice the time I spend playing singleplayer titles on multiplayer. I know from experience that if I went back to stuff like Team Fortress 2 or Overwatch, or picked up a newer game I’ve not played before, I’ll likely fall back into the habit of playing it constantly and forsaking all of the great times I’ve had, and will continue to have, with non-multiplayer games. And I just don’t want that anymore; video games are more than mindless pleasure for me, at this point, and what I value / prioritize from gaming today is completely different to what I wanted from them 7+ years ago. To quote a term I once heard from someone else: multiplayer games are “time vampires”, and I don’t want them leeching off me now.
