    The way Jeff said Hoglander was on his 3rd NHL coach he made it sound like it was Hoglander's fault. Like he was docked points. Bro, hes 23 and it was his first playoffs. He scored 24 even strength goals, zero on the PP and he finished with a plus/minus of +23. This narrative of him being responsibe for 4 goals let for every 1 he scores is BS. Give yourhead a shake. Absolutely Atrocious take.

    100 points for a d-man is extremely difficult in today’s NHL. Cale Makar, who is a better offensive defenceman, hasn’t gotten 100 points, so it seems unlikely that Hughes does so.

    Jake Debrusk never got a fair shake with the Bruins because he reminds Boston fans of the 2015 draft. They had the 12th, 13th, and 14th picks and somehow passed on Barzal, K Conner, and Chabot. That's enough to give any Boston fan ptsd and I think the Canucks are the beneficiaries.

      I still believe that our Canucks need a Puck moving D Man in our Third pairing although they can split Myers and Soucy up as well as Desharnais and Forbort But they should try to sign Boqvist with the $2.3 Mill left Actually less after Silovs gets $1Mill But I don't think they have any monet for Boqvist Also depending on how Heinein does we need a Top 6 Frwd Tofoli and Debrusk would have been perfect

    At league minimum or a million, sure. But given cap constraints, I wouldn't pay him 3. They got 2 forwards out of Boston that can play anywhere in the top 9 and be productive at both ends of the ice and they added serious grit.

    What's with the narrative that Zadorv is a bottom pairing Dman? He's a 2nd pair player, certainly. But the whole media market is pushing this, "He's lucky to even be playing in the NHL!"... I don't know what the point of this narrative is ??? Weird. He can skate, he can smash, he can produce; what more can you ask? As the season went along, after attaining him, he only got better and better, learning the OBVIOUS difference between Tocchet's system and what was happening in Calgary, culminating in his play in the playoffs. This wasn't "regency bias", as being pushed by media; this was a player adapting to a system, and showing how adaptable he could be. I swear, ?SOMETHING? is behind the narrative (maybe The Canucks asking media to do the work convincing Zadorov isn't as good as he actually is ??????? It feels that crazy!). Anyway, hope he re-signs. I'd take him over the Myers they signed to that horrible deal 5 years ago, ANY day of the week!

    The thing with zadorov it's not just about the recentcy bias with his scoring and play in the playoffs, it's his presence. When the other teams forwards are coming through the neutral zone they are less likely to try to carry the puck because there scared, he's a constant physical presence which is really valuable. He kills penalties, and I believe he can play second pair minutes. There is no other defenceman like this available, and if we lose him that'll be a big loss to the dcore. It is alot of money but if we lose him we can't replace him.

  • @virtualrealitychannel2276
    @virtualrealitychannel2276 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I love the Hronek deal because his first half was amazing, but everyone has a 'what have you done for me lately' outlook so they don't see that level of scoring will happen again. Would you really be surprised? No player in NHL history has a slump free career so I don't think Irf has a strong read on Hronek. Like the whole fanbase he'll change his tune on a dime if Hronek gets off to a hot start. I like his read on Zadorov though. Even at a "discount" he probably commands too much cap... I'd pay it though. If I were Allvin/Rutherford he'd be the rare player I'd overpay to keep just because he's so huge and it's easy to imagine him hoisting a cup. It's very hard to imagine Zad being invisible in the playoffs.

If u look at other top guys around the NHL they all have at least one other clear top forward player paired with them. Nylander just got $11.5 and he's got Tavares among other. Reinhart? Wasn't our third line center supposed to be Suter? We might need to sacrifice some center depth quality(Lindholm) to improve the wings. Also: I know it sounds crazy(it probably is) but could Mikeyev benefit from a proper off season of training that isn't taken up by recovering from injury? The guy has faced a lot of adversity since coming into the league in the Covid shortened season. Perhaps some normalcy can do him some good? Hopefully he can be properly used in a third line winger role and not have the pressure and expectations so high. He's overpaid but definitely can be better.

He's performed in the past as the 5th best player in the world? He's expected even to play in the future like the 5th best player in the world ... EVER? No, no, and no. Yeah, THERE'S a PERFECT example of being blind in contract negotiations... what a mistake that will haunt the team for the next decade.
