Short and sweet, here is a very quick compilation of my kills / deaths over the past month. I was sort of selective with the deaths, as I thought those were the best. The kills however, this is pretty much as many kills as I get in this game overall lol (not many)

Module can now be used in multiplayer hopefully this helped, tried to make this short and concise and cut the crap.

High command and arma in general are going to give me a stroke. It's impossible to find helpful information on the simplest topics and questions
Exactly. It’s like you should just know all this stuff or something.
Looking back at this video and your comment it reminds me of what pushed me to look into it further. A public scenario was running a mission with the map markers from the high command feature set. The modules also had very brief documentation when we still had the 2D editor. Most of what I demonstrate in the video was from tinkering and explaining the documented behavior from those descriptions in the 2D editor.

The 3den editor is a helluva thing to learn I almost learn something new every day lol I jus started playing a few years ago but I really start playing around in the editor in the last year or so.
It’s an amazing tool! Should’ve seen the 2D editor if you didn’t. A lot longer to do the same level of work. Eden editor has a lot of quirks than most editors but like you say you learn something new everyday.

If only they wouldn't walk all over the road and actually stay on the sidewalks. I've seen a demonstration video on the civilian AI they have in VBS3: th-cam.com/video/l4Is2KCpbK8/w-d-xo.html and the stuff they have looks absolutely centuries ahead of what Arma has.
VBS3 has some more baked in navmeshes for their AI paths from what I understand. It’s not 100% straightforward like you think

You will have to be a bit creative with it unfortunately. The “onUnitCreated” field is an expression evaluated when a unit is created. What you’ll have to do is delete the old one, make a new one. Script a sync up with the presence module via SQF

Uhhm its not working why? its saying X civilian precense L alpha 1-2:11 terminated there needs to be at least 1 spawnpoint and 1 position module BUT I DID ALL OF THAT please tell me

Great video and instruction - thanks a lot! At 0:27 you mention, that more than one player could be synced to the high commander module. I've tried that and synced a second player to the same high commander module. But when testing it from the Eden Editor by choosing "play as the character", High Command just works for one of the two players. When choosing the second one "play as the character" high command is not available. Any idea what I'm missing here?

How would I go about doing this for Multiple groups. For example, I'm the High Commander, I choose one point, from three, where we will all come from. Currently I can teleport myself and my squad to the point in question, but I cant seem to get my other two squads to teleport with me. Any idea?
Actually, never mind. I finally worked it out. Is it possible to access it by an Action ? i'm trying to put: allPlayers addAction ["Teleportation Menu", _stratMap]; into the "on activation" waypoint but it doesn't work. ("_stratMap" is the Open the map module)

Nice video. I think ARMA 2 had a better system of generating civilians. It was random, which I prefer, and no reason to make waypoints, etc. ARMA 3 is still one helluva a game, love it!

Is there a way to get the units spawned by the spawn ai module to become subordinates to a high command?
Couldn't find any commands on biki that are related, however we do have this: community.bistudio.com/wiki/synchronizeObjectsAdd , with the unit (left param) as the module and in an array (right param) the units spawned from the module

This DOES work in MP. I just exported a test mission to MP and and ran it and the civilians spawn.
Tim Please read the description, at the time of release of tac ops and at the time of this video it did not work in mp.
How do you change the types of civs? for example I want to use the Afghan civs but I can't find anything on this
Hi Dowie, sorry for the late response. You may have to delete and recreate the unit with the old waypoints, old position, old direction, etc. I may make an updated video on this. At the moment there doesn't seem to be any way to switch the unit types with the UI.
I know I'm 9 months late, but I figured out how to do this if you're still interested.

@@XxEyeSpyUx This is what i used in my mission to spawn regular civs and some CUP civs. Place the code below in the module's on civilian creation or something like that. The module that lets you select the number of civilians. pastebin.com/KQ0k2A26 just replace the unit names with the ones you want to use. If you want to know the unit names google arma 3 civilian unit class names and a list on the wiki should show up. Good luck!

No, i am pretty sure i said it could not work in multiplayer. As BI stated this on release. However, i will look into this an i may be wrong.

I did test it on server when they released the module but I didn't test it ever since, maybe they fixed it.

What does the "ORBAT Group" thing in the "Strategic" section do?

Why is it that every time I run the mission I created while doing this, it creates different squads for every unit on the map? Even the ones that I have not linked to the High Command Subordinate. Please help thanks.
Hey verlad, the high command module doesn't group units automatically unfortunately. What you will need to do, is group them manually. Select all of your units that need gropuing -> Right click one of those units -> connect -> group to -> and click on the unit you want those units grouped to.

Hello, nice tutorial. I have a question though: How can you "teleport" your whole group to the mission marker? (as you type in 2:22 into the "On Activation" field, this will only teleport you)
Hey! good question. Try this out: {_x setPos (_this select 0) } forEach (units (group player));
Niiiiiiice! It worked just fine. The only problem might be, if you are in a larger group, this code teleports the group to 1 point and the group doesn´t stay in it´s formation. But this is just fine for me. Thank you!

I wish it didn't teleport the player/group. Would rather it just load everything for the mission selected after the selection on the strategic map and you can grab a vehicle at base and drive your team there.
