I've had VWs and Ford and a large Mercedes. The Merc was brilliant but so expensive to keep up and maintain, and when it did need work the wait time was frustrating The VW was okay, a bit cramped but was no better than anything else and progressively more expensive as time went on. Had it for 7 yrs. The Ford Transit has been a breeze for over 6yrs, now replacing it (181000 miles) with another Transit. The thing with Transits is use the correct oil, service it on time and to the schedule and they are fine

Very helpful thank you. I do have a question? I've seen many posts saying 'don't connect direct to the vehicle batteries! but use the CCP connection point! My missing link in my electrical connection is my leisure batteries to vehicle. Also in a 2014 Transit Mk8. I appreciate any help

Yes, van lifers are such a bunch of liars. Take the case of that couple in Utah acting as though their life was so GREAT! Then you have others wearing skirts an inch away from their you know what, manipulating the sexual urge for views and likes and the same bending over taping up the floor on a van build saying, 'I'm converting all of this van myself' with electric drill in hand as daddy can be seen standing off to the left , reflected in the silver insulation. But, anyone who falls for that sh*t prefers that to reality anyway.
