Great video thanks for this! This is a serious epidemic for men 20-36
Always check thyroid function ! A pill doesn't fix isolation, loneliness, abandonment, poverty, etc...
How can someone be lonely? Just go look outside the liquor store, you'll always find interesting people there!
Thank You
Explaining the "Why" doesn't fix the problems that exist. Others either do not care or just make fun of people. We know no one cares.
VERY HELPFUL. THANK YOU! PSYCHOLOGY GRADUATE here from Philippines. 🇵🇭🫰🇵🇭
This comments section should be a goldmine come one guys CBT?
Try finding a shrink in Seattle 🙄
There is no exact diference between anxiety and depression.
It is hard to be treated when severely depressed and no support. I have only ever had talk therapy and that did not a thing for my avoidant personality disorder.
What causes depression? Life 😢
I lost my beloved husband.....i really feel bad ...all in my head ...am coping alone ...i love my husband .
This is me. I had all of those risk factors. I've had this since early childhood. I improved at different points in my life, but now in middle age after a very difficult adulthood, the struggle is worse than ever. Added to that, I live in isolation from my supportive family.
At the 3:49 Like comparing politicians to Hitler. It loses its meaning and gets watered down.
From 6:00 very true. Care first for yourself before taking on “a project”, especially someone you love.
You tube Derek Prince on Depression then read bible Isiah ….. a spirit of heaviness …..
Everything is a chemical imbalance. Diabetes? Chemical imbalance of sugars. Dehydration? Chemical imbalance. Kamala Harris cackling? Gotta be some chemical something going on there.
I have got foot neuropathy and tinnitus. I can’t sleep in any silence.
Show me the money my anxiety will instantly go away. 👍
The guy knew what he was talking about but his tone as if his patient is a specimen is off putting.
The way you explain is easy to understand and straight to the point. Thank you for this Dr.
Scary black eyes.
What a gent and true professional 😊
axiety is niormal its not a desease
I haven’t been outside in 12 years due to extreme anxiety and severe agoraphobia. I try to remain positive but I’ve missed out on so much and now I’m just existing from one day to the next.
I’m so sorry. I know how you feel. Can u get help? It really does work. I had to find help for myself, I was where you are. Can you contact a Public Health Service? Many church organizations offer free counseling. God bless you.
@@almaconnor9171 I have actually arranged for a doctor to come to my place in a few weeks. Thank you for your concern. 🙂
I have a full blown anxiety/social anxiety disorder plus extreme agoraphobia. I haven’t been outside in 12 years as a result of anxiety and now I’m terrified of human contact. I try to keep positive but the future seems pretty uncertain.
Thank you Dr. O'Sullivan. This video is so informative and very helpful and easy to understand.
This is very helpful. Thank you for this channel.
Thank you
Wow. What excellent questions. Bravo.
I have social anxiety because people ARE judging me. I am Conservative and most around me are not. I am ridiculed often. I say this as an accomplished journalist for 40 years.
And you are judging them just by your comment
Thank you, Dr. O'Sullivan.
I’m raising aware on this channel, for people to take everything with caution. It doesn’t provide anything new, more of the time presenting half of the information or old information and practices that aren’t connected in any way with the today’s medical discoveries. In addition it makes a disservice to Canadian people who aren’t yet depressed. They’re not aware of the fact that the “advices “ of this doctor are not working in Canadian health system.
Apologies but I don’t quite understand videos like this. ICD-11 is pretty self-explanatory. Do we need endless re-worded versions floating around online?
The words are the same. I think you mean this is repeated endlessly lacking new insight or context.
@tomworrall190 ~ You DO understand so WHY do you apologise for something you NEED to express rather than just MOVING ON. YOU chose to watch this, PERIOD !
@@StephSancia And YOU also KNOW that YOU are being quite RUDE. Why are you reading this and commenting? Just move on. PERIOD.
I remember my earliest bout of depression. I was about 3. I lay under the Oak tree and just started crying. I felt sad and didn't understand why. It was 38 year later, my mother admitted that she had abandoned my brother and me while my father was away on contract.
Heartbreaking. 🙁
Thanks Dr. It was a very clear explanation, I’m taking notes of everything you’re teaching. I’m a counsellor in the UK and there is nothing better than learning from experienced people like you.
He is very good in fairness.
😅 Promo sm
Very informative. Thank you so much.
❤
❤
A million thank you’s for this episode ❤
I have realized depression is genetic because I had a fulfilling childhood and no cause and effect occurred to bring me sadness.
Doctor please can you teach me how to do a perfect mental status examination
This is so informative and very helpful! Thank you for sharing Dr. O' Sullivan.
I’m the one who looks calm and in control on the outside, but when placed in certain situations, I cannot function at all. Example : working outside the home, my brain just shuts down completely, I end up making mistakes and get fired all the time. Yet I can do the same job, at home without any mistakes go figure.
I have really bad social anxiety. Like I tremble, and my face turns red when I am in any sort of confrontation. Because of this I do a lot of things that are against my morals/values just so I wouldn’t have to get into confrontations. It makes me feel crappy, but I really can’t help it. I still try to face social situations to feel better about myself, but it always ends up with me feeling more miserable. Maybe because I am hyper sensitive and critical about my appearance. I also act differently towards different people. I don’t really know myself anymore.
