Hello! First off thanks for watching my vids! I used a Chris Alston Chassis works 6 point roll cage for the 68 Mustangs for my cougar. It’s essentially a universal kit. The cougars have a longer wheelbase but the kits are cut to fit as needed so it fit perfectly after measuring. I got the swing out kits on the cage so I have options. Let me know if you have any other questions around if, happy to help!

I think you did really good on the speedometer had bigger tires on my cougar than factory, and the transmission was like twice as big as the C4 and after 100 and something the speedometer would just start bouncing all the way around so I really didn’t know how fast I was going I know my uncle George used to yell at me and I would say I’m only going 80 and he would say yeah but the speed is rolling all the way around bouncing all the way around the good old daysthanks for letting me share that bring me back

What size is the other part of the AN fitting that goes into the AOD transmission? I’m trying to do this and also spending a fortune trying to find the right fitting. Forums say 1/4inch but 1/4 NPS is too big. Also tried npt. Thanks

I do recall having a hard time also with trial and error trying to figure it out. I would recommend calling summit racing to get the right part #s. They should be able to provide the info. Good choice going with the PTFE (teflon) hose over the older CPE (chlorinated polyethylene rubber) lined braided hose. PTFE has come a long way in the time I've been using it, it's far more flexible now than it ever was before. The nice thing is, you're compatible with fuels containing ethanol by using it, and if your fuel cap seals properly, the PTFE cuts down on the fuel smell in the garage, plus, it will likely outlast the car, whereas CPE hose is 18-24 months before it has broken down to the point replacement becomes necessary.

Thanks for the comment! I’ll check it out, to be honest I don’t remember where the existing fuel sending wiring was other than on the bottom of the car next to the fuel sender. I may just wiring it through the inside of the car and make a hole somewhere in the trunk to feed the AN lines

Ruben, Thanks for posting your progress. I got my 67 Cougar back 43 years after selling it (it was my high school car). It's in a rotisserie now and everything you have posted will be very helpful to me!

Ive reached out to you previously via IG, but I forgot my log in and have been locked out for a while, so I came here. My question is have you installed this harness yet, I was just wondering if you ran into any issues.I finally got my car back and ready to do the wiring and I called and they recommended the XP 727 kit ,but that one is for 64 1/2 mustang so I'm confused once again, lol.

I have not started yet but I will within the next month or so. I took a small break just to clear my mind on things but I will be starting soon and I’m particular to my build I’m not gonna use any of the OEM wiring any I’m not using the gauge cluster that’s stock I’m going all aftermarket so that helps a lot with wiring system specially the aftermarket ones but I’m sure they just means you need to splice into the OEM wiring
