New game to Utopia in under 3hr! There's definitely some improvements that could be made; • Radar setup was slow, • Bruce followed me on my swim to Radio Tower • Coulda swam to Radio Tower/Vasagatan/Varuna sooner, • I ran out of water on Balboa, and anchored when Balboa spawned in so I had a very long swim back. • I also ran out of water at the end of Tangaroa Cool strategies were used though, ...

This was my MF sorc for the open beta, I didn't figure I needed anything other than Frozen Orb and Static Field for damage, so I maxed Teleport as much as I could for cheap teleports. Very fun building this Sorc, I'm excited for the full game!

What's even more sickening is the commercialization of all these new products and books to heal you or fix you when they are no different than the corruptive big tech companies out to steal a buck from the poor through year of processing food that is not healthy. If we all had natural farms and did away with all these chemicals and such we all would get a hundred percent of the vitamins needed us of both vegetables and meat off the farms grass feed and band all of this garbage, but they all have their day in the judgement day of the works they have done.

I actually discovered this one, so I can explain my thought process There's an out of bounds glitch in Tangaroa; in the underground area you can stand on top of a certain door frame, but to stand there you need to be crouched, because your head hits the ceiling. If you save game and rejoin, you'll load in standing up, with your head through the ceiling. You can then jump through ceiling and you'll be inside the walls, basically. When I discovered this, I was trying to use that method to clip through the interior ceiling. Upon logging back in, I didn't clip through the ceiling, but I heard the door opening again. Realizing the door always loads in closed, I logged out on it hoping I could clip through something that way and what do you know, it happened. 👍

Using "unstuck" - doesn't count in my book. You could easily have collected a few stones and made a second anchor.
That certainly would have added a few minutes to my timer when the goal is to get to the end as fast as possible. 🤷
@@ggWasNp Using game mechanics for what they wasn't intended to be used for is the reason why many games has different categories for speed runs. Same with glitches.

I didn't see an explanation in the comments for the ramp of 82 planks... Is there a purpose? When you lost count it seemed very important to you. Only thing i could think of was a way to store planks and not clog up inventory. Is there a different reason? I'm 2 hrs in, so I'll be watching for an answer. I love the minimal raft design.
😂 It's the exact height needed to get into the final room of the game, though easier methods have been discovered since I did this. Nowadays you can just parkor Utopia in 2 minutes 💀

I'm wondering, when you get to the point where you have too many resources, why don't you build a water bottle, so it's easier to carry more water with you when you go on the islands. Just to be safe. I liked your video. Thank you for sharing!
When I'm speedrunning, I am usually fast enough and prepared enough that a cup and watermelon is all I've ever needed. Kinda feels like I'm going out of my way to craft an overkill source of water, when I might need that seaweed for more flippers when/if they break. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And as for getting to the point of where I have too many resources, I try not to ever gather "too many" than I'll ever need for something. I have a notepad document with all the items listed, and the number of how many of each thing I'll need, and smelting extra of something takes time away from paddling, so I just use my cup
Neat and clean! Wp dude! Once I tried to speed run to balboa (the last location then) and took me 10 ingame days (which is like 3.5 hours I think), but I went through the locations the way it should be, no glitches or super high ramps. You have my respect, you are raft master!

Yes! Paddles make you move slightly faster in every situation. I used a Receiver and took lots of notes for movement: Sail, with the wind: 45 units in 30 seconds Sail, 45° angle/Diagonal with the wind: 43 units in 30 seconds 1 Engine: 60 units in 30 seconds 2 Engine: 75 units in 30 seconds Sail, with the wind + Paddle: 80 units in 30 seconds Sail, 45° angle/Diagonal with the wind + Paddle: 80 units in 30 seconds 1 Engine + Paddle: 90 units in 30 seconds 2 Engine + Paddle: 95 units in 30 seconds Paddle, with the wind: 45 units in 30 seconds Paddle, 45° angle/Diagonal with the wind: 44 units in 30 seconds Paddle, against the wind: 13 units in 30 seconds Sail + Paddle, against the wind: 50 units in 30 seconds

Finally a real speed run. All these other guys are calling getting to the first radio tower thing a speed run but you need to beat a game to call it a speed run without specifying to what extent. Well done.
Thank you very much! I can tell you why people are doing that though. Because it gets their name on a leaderboard at speedrun.com/Raft and it doesn't take as long. But yes, I for one prefer doing the whole thing. :)
