Hello my name is Wes and welcome to my channel! The videos in this channel consist of everyday happenings around our Family Dairy. We are currently milking 300 Jerseys Cows and raise close to the same number of heifers. Feeding forages and grain throughout the winter months and implementing rotational grazing during the growing season. If this is of interest to you stick around to learn more!

please tell me what is the name of the bucket that you use to add litter?
Bro gave ma one tractor please 🥺
Куда пропал бро🤔🤔?
Do bottle fed calves associate you with food later in life? Oooh look. There’s my friend!!!!
We used to bed our stalls on Saturday. So all the kids could help
How do you integrate them into ration taking account different nutritional values
Thats an old scrapyarders trick. Big bag handler if you need one to
Interesting , very cool thanks for the info 👍
Thinking outside the box is how America was built!
Yes sir 👌
Тепло у вас😊👍
Take that nature
As one would say he’s stirring the shit my friend
I don't mean to sound dumb, but what is he doing?
Our liquid manure has sand from where the cows sleep so I stir it up with that big gun that way it mixes into a slurry and we don't end up just pumping off the manure water , thanks for asking 👍
Stay upwind my friend 😂
Right on ✊
Это все навоз? Сколько копите? Куда потом всю эту массу?😮
Manure and wash water from spraying milkparlor down ...should be close to million gallons storage , we inject it into the fields
@@WesFarmingPOV понятно 😁👍а про молочный зал можешь видео записать?
and how many milk cows do you have? if it’s not a secret 😊
About 280 milking right now , thanks for asking ! 👍
Как один все успеваешь?😅
Don't worry not alone , that night there was 5 of us there , two milkers , a chore person , a calf feeder and me 👍
Farmers don’t mind getting dirty. I got desensitized at 12. Cleaning up 45 crates of farrowing afterbirth every wednesday
Whew , good luck hope it's warmer there!
Mine is 40 years old and has not been touched since it was installed. Im quite honestly afraid to even look at it. It works like a champ though. Can run the dishwasher, washing machine, and a shower at the same time with no fear of going cold.
do you have a water softener ahead of the hot water tank? I've heard that will keep your appliances clean and running well. Sadly, this hot water tank takes water straight out of the well and I'm thinking that's why it's so bad.
@WesFarmingPOV We're on well water too. We do have a softener, but still have very rusty water. Our shower turns pink if we don't scrub it every other week. I am thoroughly impressed the heater is still working lol. Don't fix what's not broken.
@@MaketoMake815amen to that !
They don’t even put clean out ports on most new water heaters. They just expect you to buy a new one every 3-5 years instead of making them serviceable so they last 15-20. Good on you for doing the maintenance that most people never get to! It’ll pay off in the long run.
sounds about right, a lot of the new stuff seems to be built to throw away...though I'm sure there are exceptions out there just gotta find em
Покажи всю верму 😁
Good job 👍❤
That one cow is displeased. Wants it to be more green.
Haha yes a few more months and we'll have grass to graze again!
Is your barn full robotic or partial. Was at full robotic farm near mecca ohio. Robot cleaned teats, tested milk, alarmed if bad, did everything. Had same type scraper system. Liking the vids👍
We just have the automated scraper for manure , still milking in a parlor with 2 people ..pushing 280 cows through in about 3 hours with cleanup
Сновым годом 🎄 трудяга🎉🎉
Yes it is ! Good tractors they just keep going !
Merry Christmas. Smell ya later
😂😂😂😂
Удобрение?
Yes sir the best kind solid cow poo 💩
@@WesFarmingPOV 😂😂👍👍👍👍
Pissing away money on plastic & nitpicking on the bottom 😅
mmm...no... when I only have to use one bale of straw to bed a pen and you have to use 3 because you left yours outside uncovered in the elements...that puts me money ahead 😁🧠
@WesFarmingPOV boolshit you're in your own little world. You don't lose anything if it's netwraped.
@@joshuaproud7272no net-wrap doesn't have an oxygen barrier...hence why you tube wrap it making it air tight so it can't spoil/rot outdoors
@WesFarmingPOV your over thinking it son. The net wrap holds it tight and it sheds water. You don't "lose" anything.
@@joshuaproud7272 look bud, this isn't farm simulator, a net-wrapped bale may shed SOME water, but it will still soak in and spoil the bale if left out in the open. How many inches in it spoils depends on your climate and time left out. But trust me it will spoil.
Ur problem is u bought a deer.
Sometimes I wonder 😅
Not in the industry just like watching. The flex line: Is it Pex or dedicated high pressure “plastic” line? This job was fun to watch.
So, I bought this airline kit off amazon to get air from one side of the shop to the other...haven't done that yet. but this is the PTEE tubing that came in that kit and is specifically for air. Thanks for watching!

Interesting
Yep there's always something breaking when you have this many wheels turning 😅
Its funny i know exactly how that place smells....just like my childhood man that brings back some memories lol 👍👍💯
Yes there's nothing quite like the smell of dried milk and manure 👍😀
@@WesFarmingPOV yup, like fresh manure on a field in spring time lol smells like home lol I know that sounds gross (probably not to you but to the general public lol) but man those where the good old days life was waaay simpler it is hard work (most good things are) but we had food shelter the family and the farm, man we have fallen so far it's heartbreaking honestly this country was something special once you where proud to call yourself an American now 🤷♂️ we are the punchline of every bad joke this is progress apparently 😢🤬🤮😠 I weep for my nation it's people and future
Hey it’s the milkman.
Does anyone know why does the milk you buy clot? Such a bummer, id have to dump it, as when you want to make a cafe late, with heating, clotting gets worse!
Well store bought milk should last quite a while since it's been pasteurized...but only other reason for clotting could be an acid food getting in with the milk causing it to curdle
How often are the pipes and tanks cleaned??
The inside of the pipes and milk units and everything in contact with milk are washed after every milking automatically with a rinse, detergent wash and then acid wash. same goes for the bulk tanks once they are emptied. All stainless , and sanitized before milkings. Outside of pipes and tank are done as needed. We have periodic inspections to assure cleanliness. Thanks for question !
Wes, why a separate day and night tank?
Since we are on every other day pickup we need the storage to hold 4 milkings , thanks for watching !
Can’t freeze if ther is no coolant
😂
Love that you're showing us even when it's "awkward".
haha yes! my days are filled with many awkward moments. 😅
Very nice. It looks like maybe you converted a ties stall barn for calves? Could you maybe do a video about how you did it and maybe tour of the rest of your calf/heifer facilities. I'm looking for ideas on converting our old tie stall
Hello! Yes we did tear out the old tie-stalls and broke out quite a bit of concrete before repouring the floor. The only remaining part is the "brisket " curb where the calf gates are...the gates were made by a weld shop and the frames we built from yellow pine...then just bent hog panels for cages...the other half of the barn we left as a special needs pen for sore feet/fresh cows we want to keep an eye on. and yes that would be a good video idea!
Очень хорошо
Bon courage !
Бывает😂😂😂
А зачем в плёнку? Если это только подстилка
Not sure my translate worked , what are you asking ?
@@WesFarmingPOV Why do you wrap the hay in film? this is food
@@user-eb2zc2vlad we do wrap the hay (food) but also the straw (bedding ) because it is cheaper than putting up a building for storage , that way we can store outside wherever and the bedding wont rot and get wet
@@WesFarmingPOV I see, how much does the film cost? We store hay in the open air.
