Even a gen 1 Ti is not worth a reduced price. Gen 2 custom pro has the same acb brakes as the ti gen 2, custom pro gen 2 weights less, and now readily available at half the price of this Ti gen2. This Ti gen 2 is a great example of a Lews gimmick reels that doesn't do anything better than other reels but cost a lot more.

I have more reels than I can do with jdm reels up to 800 bucks that I never use but I always buy Lews reels in this price range and I absolutely use the hell out of them I even bought one of the classic pros changed everything out put spool high speed bearings in it blacked it out put Winn grip paddles you name it and that reel has caught more fish than any of my expensive ones lews is ahead of it’s game 😊

Niceeee. I got the super duty gx3 and it’s a strong reel. I got it paired with 50 lb braid and 50 lb mono reader and I’ve pulled in alligator gars and bull reds and no problems with the reel after two seasons.

I live in NJ and our State record has been 10-15 for 40yrs. So I had big swimbaits for 15yrs and never threw them, forced myself a few yrs ago now its all I throw big and small. If u don't want to get all crazy just throw the 9inch Berkley Nessie its so lite it doesn't need special gear. And it's a huge profile. I caught a 5 pounder on Thanksgiving in 30 degree rain at night in an overfished pond.. and Lunker Hunt braid is a fantastic braid. AMAZON has a sale on 50lb 150 yards for $17 right now

Hey man I agree about the braid and backlashes. I have this reel and I got 17 mono on it now but after this I think I’m going to 50 braid on it and use it for frogs next season. Did not use it as a frog reel before, I was using it for 5 and 6 inch swim baits. Thanks for the vids.

Thanks for sharing your opinion on the different models of Lew's reels. That's why I own around (25-30) $99.00 reels, they are my super duty reel. Those $99.00 reels have never once let me down on the water. 😁

Two important things you missed. This is first Lews reel in which you can get that lower 5.6 ratio in a left retrieve. And, this reel has brass drive gears which some folks prefer.

Thanks John great information let me ask you this question the Lew's Custom Pro Gen 3 Casting Reel it’s been said you don’t have to make any adjustments to it, but just start fishing. Was casting mine today. I fish salt water and laugh at fresh water anglers using 30 to 50lb braid for 2 to 10lb fish. (I get it, if money's on the line you want an advantage) I catch 2 to 20lb lb snook, tarpon, jacks on 15lb braid. Super smooth + was recently on sale at Dicks..it's one of 4 lews reels I fish in salt water.

How does that reel compare to the bantam 22?

I have three of these there great. I like the 6.8.1 for spinnerbaits that ratio is the sweet spot for spinnerbaits my opinion. And this reel handles all weights with ease.

I have also used the Lews reactor and I really enjoyed that reel.

Just ordered the tp and I got the bb1 pro So I’ll start the season off with 2 high quality reels. The bb1 will be on halo ks2 7.2 med heavy mainly for jigs with 30lb braid. The tp will be on a 6th esp 7.5 sense med heavy for cranks, spinners,

My favorite is the tournament pro because my wife can cast it all day without asking me to fix her blow up 🤣 i like my Machs and my tournament pros but my favorite, for my use, is the tournament mp. Great real, great price, and I can cast it down to my backing line or flip it. Tried the new custom pro......I ended up sending it back.

The Lews Custom Lite and the non gold Custom Pro are the pinnicle of Lews casting reels. The pro ti and hyper mag are not improvements, just a typical lews gimmick. I fish mainly Lews, but they are a gimmick company for 75% of the reels.

Surprised you didnt mention the tournament pro or BB1 pro.
