Honesty, I was having grandiose dreams about staying at the El Cortez and experiencing the nostalgia associated with this landmark even getting a T Shirt and pocketing a few chips and tokens as souvenirs. After watching your "honest review", ALL BETS ARE OFF!!! I might visit the Blackjack table, but I'll stay, eat, and loose most of my money elsewhere. Thank you.

Just found you by looking for a review on Fremont Hotel. Wow. Thorough review... And we watch a ton of reviewers. Well done! I would only suggest left justifying your rating at the end, that played with my crazy Excel based brain😅.

We always stay at GN, Rush Tower, but this time on 4th of July 2024, the parking was really bad, which they "Front Desk" said tough luck, there is not a parking space even if you are a Hotel Guess, they said it is first come first serve, why would anyone wanted to stay at a Hotel if you cannot park your car within the Hotel even if you are a Hotel Guess.

Ohhhhh wow I stayed there didn't really notice that, next time I stay there I will definitely be on the lookout.

I get a travel size pack of lysol wipes and quickly give all rooms i stay in aquick wipe of high touch areas

I would have ranked the casino higher and the room lower. That room was gross: numerous hairs, blood, cockroach, rice, etc.

UNacceptable on the room. With hotels charging these money grab resort fees, I would have complained. That floor was not vacuumed or cleaned. Neither were the walls and I'm not going to even mention the tub floor. You seemed so optimistic on something thats not OK.

Feel bad for you bud. You were pretty nice about it. My experience there is over 20 years. Have never paid for a room or food. Sorry you went for that. The tower rooms are spectacular. Better than Golden Nugget. They comp me Suites now and I don't spend more than a grand for my stay. Ten times points on Sunday-Monday-Tuesday. So spending $1000 on slots gets you cash back for gambling $10,000. If I don't win,,I'm still going to the airport with $500 cash back for the points earned. Longest continuous running casino in Vegas. Thanks for your honesty.

I was a guest a week ago and it is loud, but I have ALWAYS liked the D. I stayed here even when it was Fitzgeralds (The Fitz). It isn't fancy but it's nice. Take your ear plugs 😂😂😂😊

place smells bad

Utterly disgusting hair is on the bed. Could’ve been vacuumed off. What’s with all the stains even in the safe. Disgusting. I wouldn’t stay there for free.

Always stayed in the rush tower. Only had one time where a room was rough like that. Dusty everywhere, door didn’t lock, hinges were broke, shower floor was brown like that. Complained to the front and they put us in another room that was way better. I’ve also stayed at what must have been a more recently renovated one another year because it was slightly different here and there and the shower was brand new tile and walk in shower style.

Good to know information, I’m thinking of staying there.

Awful, would never stay there again. Dirty, air cond did not work. Noisy. Elevators were not working except for one out of four. I got bit by bed bugs. January 2024. Overall just really bad

I have always stayed in the Rush Tower and have never had a tub like that . that was bad I can't believe they have let it go like that

The floors in the newer tower actually are so crackly it is ridiculous like the floor isn’t leveled or something

I found your video really helpful. I've stayed at the Luxor and MGM Grand, and really want to stay at the Golden Gate once just because of its historical status of the first and oldest hotel/casino in Vegas. Your video gives me a real good idea of what to expect. Thanks again!

Stayed in the wrong room brother. Need to book and stay in the Tower Rooms.

I stayed there last year, I really enjoyed it, think you need to stay in the Galley Tower to have the better rooms. Hot Dog & a beer for $2 in the casino was good. Also $1 Blackjack. I didn’t personally find the casino that small and had a good choice of slot machines and a big casino bar with lots of seats for video poker around it.Will be going back and staying there next year.

It's really not bad place great location I actually found a $2000 casino ticket. In safe I cashed it and have a blast with it

I would have called the front desk and asked a supervisor to come to the room, and shown him / her the room and all the issues. I am a local here in Vegas and have stayed at several of the Fremont St hotels. I have never seen one with corn and a full lollipop on the floor, all the dust under the tables in the corners, or all the dirt next to a fridge.

So, your video does not show necessarily all of the truth. I have stayed at the Golden Gate a few times. Never have I had a dirty room. As far as parking, if you are staying at the Golden Gate, you can valet your car, and only walk 3 feet into the door to check in. As for the rooms, they are very old, as this is a historic hotel. so for those that are saying that they do not want to stay there, good. More room for me. More room for people like me, who appreciate the old beautiful parts of that hotel. No, it is not a luxury hotel, you will not find a coffee pot in your room, and yes, the hairdryer is kept on the TV stand in the bedroom, and the rooms are tiny. But, considering how old this hotel is, and what it was used for back in the day, these rooms were very spacious. For one or two nights, and one or two people, these rooms are perfect. Any complaints, and you are just wasting your time. I will forever defend the golden gate. The people who work there, the guests who appreciate their stay, and those who enjoy just sitting at the historic bar and having a drink with the amazing and wonderful bartenders. Your stay, and your opinion, I apologize, but, again I have stayed there several times, and have never had a problem. Or an issue.

THE ROOM YOU BOOKED WAS THE HIGHEST I HAVE SEEN AT THE FOUR QUEENS. IT MUST HAVE BEEN A SUPER SOLD OUT NIGHT. I OFTEN SEE THE NORTH TOWER ROOMS FROM 45-65 BUCKS A NIGHT. YOU WERE IN THE NORTH TOWER THAT WAS OPENED IN JUNE, 1966. THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS RE MODELS SINCE BUT THE SHELL IS OLD SCHOOL LAS VEGAS. THE SOUTH TOWER WAS ADDED IN 1981. IT’S NEWER AND NICER BUT DATED. I LOVE THE FOUR QUEENS AND WILL NOT STAY ANYWHERE ELSE. I LOVE THE OLD SCHOOL VIBE,CASINO,RESTAURANTS, THE EMPLOYEES, FREE PARKING AND NO RESORT FEES. I GET FREE ROOMS/FOOD/DRINKS AND RESORT CREDIT EVERY TIME I STAY AT THE 4 QUEENS. ONCE A MONTH DURING FOOTBALL SEASON. I SIT AT THE PALACE BAR FOR 8-10 HOURS A DAY WATCHING FOOTBALL AND PLAYING VIDEO POKER. THE BARTENDERS AND HOTEL STAFF HAVE ALL BEEN THERE FOR DECADES. IT’S QUIET AT THE PALACE BAR AND SUPER MELLO UNLIKE THE D/CIRCA/GOLDEN GATE. I CANT STAND ALL THE LOUD MUSIC AND SUPER BRIGHT LED SCREENS AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR. I LOVE MAGNOLIAS AND THE CHICAGO BREWERY THIN CRUST PIZZA. THE SISTER PROPERTY, BINION’S IS ALSO A GREAT PLACE WITH WHISKEY LICK ER UP, THE BINION’S DELI AND THE BINIONS STEAK HOUSE. I GET SUITES COMPED AT ALL MGM AND CAESARS PROPERTIES ON THE STRIP AND STILL STAY AT MY OLD SCHOOL FOUR QUEENS DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS. YOU HAVE 10 CASINOS WITHIN A FEW BLOCKS.
