You have to buy the Yamaha FL512M or FL1024M expansion flash memory board and install it inside the keyboard in order to load samples and .wav files. My new 512 Mb card was $150.14 from Sweetwater on 4/29/21. UPDATE: After my Yamaha expansion arrived (quickly - thanks, Sweetwater, and thanks for the candy!), I found out that Mutec also makes expansion flash memory boards that are less expensive.

Okay so I'm a beginner at this. And I have a very old Yamaha PSR 630. I can make complete songs with it. Even as old as a technology is coming using a floppy disk. It still came with an on-board 16-track sequencer. My question is, is this particular keyboard from Yamaha a workstation, where I can create full songs, or does it not have a sequencer and recording ability? Please advise.

I am so wary of these TH-cam promotions now. It always looks so easy and sounds so great. They leave out lots of vital info that you need to know before you can zip around these boards like the demo men do. I know these are budget entry level boards but the yshould tell you not to expect a pleasant playing experience with the cutprice keybeds..they dont deliver a fun playing experience.. I am warning you. It could be a false economy in the long run. There seem to be lots of these up for sale 2nd hand. These MX models are acceptable for the dosh but in all truth to be fair look quite good when compared to the abysmal Korg Kross 2 which has such a shockingly poor keybed along with gritty electronic low res sounds it should be made instantly illegal..and none of the reviews tell you this. Its beyond cheap and nasty..so always go and try before you buy. I got a Kross mail order and returned it within the hour in disbelief and horror..and lesson learned ! Finally I am far from convinced the DAs are outputting anything like the same spec as the motif. When you pay budget you get budget so take care and think long term if you take your music seriously
