Thanks for this. Just wondering, if the brake cable was to let go or break would it make a loud ratting noise in the drum, I think mine just let go.

The guy who changed my breaks broke those 2 screws in the rotor so they need to be drilled out, any tips on where i can find them? Or is it not so necessary with those screws.

When I press the brake of the car, the steering wheel shakes.. Interestingly, this shaking occurs mostly when the speed is around 100 km.

And to think I’ve been using a simple “C” clamp and one of the old brake pads since 1978 when I went to auto class at trade school. Didn’t know I could have bought a special tool that cost a lot more money and really only had one use!

No need to renew the brake pad retaining clip? New pads have a new clip in the box, don't they?

how many circlips are on the CV spline? Is it just the first one that we saw you remove or is there another one in front of the locking plate?

Chisel would have done the job if you notched the corner with it in line with the stud, and walked it off. I generally use a chisel bit on an air hammer for round security lug nuts, not that difficult with adequate space. Extractors are great if you have them, but could have hammered it too.

This video is fake. Try that on bolts that you haven't removed and put back on before the video. Not fooling anyone bud.

This is common sense... Even if you don't enjoy cars like me it's still easy to understand how brakes work and the dangers of brake dust. Edit: some brakes exist that don't "emit" as much brake dust

I just use one of the old brake pads and a C clamp.

I'll pass... Most times I want to remove the piston to clean it and to replace the rubber bits - after that I push the piston in by hand

I use a c clamp before I even unbolt the caliper. I will continue to do so.

If you think that's crazy... newtons laws, the rubber tyres also exert force to the tarmac floor... which also releases particles of whatever crud was left over after refining crude oil.... which we call asphalt and spread that on our road! That road surface wears down... and as vehicle weight goes up, so does the wear rate.
