This movie makes me so sad even though it’s got a hapoy ending. I think it’s the way the soundtrack was done and sung that adds this element of melancholy but it’s also awesome at the same time!

On sent venir la fin du monde. Toute cette tension dans l élégance, toute cette vacuité dans la grâce, la fin d une époque, annonçant la dernière de tous les temps sans le savoir....chapeaux bas.

Some interesting facts for any last unicorn fans The animation company that created half of this was a young up and coming company which now goes by Gibli Interestingly they only created about half the movie but the american company that paid them saw the animations and were not used to the manga style rhat japanese usually did so they decided to do the rest with an american animator, this is why the unicorn in horse and lady form and some of the other characters look so anime style but then some look so english style, they didnt have the budget to re do it so it stayed as is. They did professional styles of all the songs but they decided they sounded to fake, this is also why there are parts by the unicorn that sound really good but then some not so much, some are the voice actor and some are not. Love this movie it is such an amazing story and still my fav movie after 30 years!
