RH Bonsai Rammon Hamers
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 18 มิ.ย. 2007
My name is Rammon Hamers and I started with bonsai since I was 20 years of age and became a professional since 2010.
I'm born in The Netherlands and live in United Kingdom from 2010.
I have learned from Hotsumi Terawaka, Gijs Meboer, Teunis Jan Klein and Graham Potter.
I worked full time at Kaizenbonsai mail order buisiness owned by Graham Potter from 2010-2018.
In 2018 I moved to Staffordshire and started my own part time bonsai buisines.
I now offer workshops, 1 to 1, demonstrations, maintenance, styling and advice.
I also offer a range of bonsai trees varying from raw material to mature bonsai, bonsai pots and fertiliser.
I have arround 90 trees, of which 25 are my personal collection.
With this channel I want to share my work and experience for you to enjoy and learn.
Any inquirys please email me at Rhamers85@gmail.com

From hedge to Bonsai privet
มุมมอง 1.3Kวันที่ผ่านมา
In this video im working on a privet. ligustrum ovavolium is the latin name because of its oval shaped leaves. i bought this tree at the former Doncaster car boot sale (now bonsai fest) in 2022. the tree was originally collected from a very old hedge. in 2022 i started first work by carving the stump, branch selection and wiring. for the next two years i only pruned it twice to get the branches...
Carving English Elm Bonsai
มุมมอง 1.4K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
I recorded this video in 2020 and havent done anything with it until now. In this video i carve a english elm. This tree was collected from my local woodland in 2016. I left the tree to grow in the first year. The second year i made a branch selection and wired some branches into the right direction. The next 2 years i focussed on growth of the branches, especially the lower ones, to get a good...

I like that I have a hazel very similar 🌲
@@shuancook9005 this is a airlayer, a technique i will cover in a future video.
@ I know the technique 🌲👍
That’s a lot of hard work! Will keep an eye out on its progress Ramon.
@@knowfear100 cheers!
Hi, This is very nice❤, I had a question, what glue do you use to attach the mesh to the rock?
HI, This is very nice❤, I had a question, how do you attach the mesh to the rock?
@@bijanbekhrad-zx6tb thank you! I used 2 components epoxy glue. Watch the whole video how i put it together here: th-cam.com/video/mlqYNliPmI8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MwYoE-DBqwrN8ZT_

Some very impressive work here. It would be good when you are working on a tree to give some history behind the project. Variety, age, where you acquired it, and if a special pot, something about the potter, future intentions for the bonsai, is it now in 'maintenance mode ' or on a journey to next stage
@@peterroberts1812 thanks for your comment! Thisbis just a short video of some example trees. In the upcoming videos i will go more indept. Thanks for the support.

Technically one of the worst videos I have ever seen. Could not understand a word of what you were saying due to music that has no added value at all. Format of the video does not suit TH-cam, lot of black video in the end. But... Quite a nice tree and interesting subject.
Thank you for your feedback. I apologize for the issues you encountered with the video, especially with the audio and formatting. I appreciate your thoughts on the music and the black screen at the end-I'll definitely take those into consideration for future videos. I’m glad you found the tree and subject interesting, though! Your input is valuable and will help me improve moving forward.
Love the cheese wire type saw can you buy these & where from please ….
@@deanwright5490 its a hand chain saw: www.kaizenbonsai.com/products/hand-saw-chain-bonsai-collecting-tools?_pos=4&_sid=4303fc9c6&_ss=r Good arm workout too:)
Really enjoyed the video and and your thoughts on the tree ,subed as well
@@adrianforrester325 thanks:) much appreciated
What device are you useing to film mate?
Im using Samsung galaxy s21 on this one.
Prachtig werk!
@@KennetDeBondt bedankt!!
Bravissimo 👍👍👍
Real that is possible but it will take years and years to work
Bonsai is not made overnight. With this technique you are able to cut some corners and safe yourself years if growing something this size in the ground. In aproax 10 years you probably wont notice its a tanuki. With this you have to do a convincing job, otherwise it will show, which will let it down in aesthetics.
Where can i get that bit?
Hi Kevin, the carving bit used in this video are available from www.kaizenbonsai.com and the name is the terrier
@rhbonsai thanks i got one soon after posting the question.
Excellent looking tree and some great carving work here Ramon 👍👍
big thanks:)
Tanuki is obviously not fake, but doesn’t appeal to me.
thanks for your comment, its just a technique to make use of what you got. i hope i can do a follow up in a few years.
Graham Potter’s apprentice?
Yes i met him there when i was at a workshop with Graham Potter
yes i used to be, since 2018 i went my own way.
Dude, been following you since the Graham days, cheers from Brazil! And we def need more tanuki content online so thank you!!!
thats great to hear! thank you for your support:) will have another big one coming up over the winter hopefully
Great video. I got excited with all the carving! The tree is allready looking amazing 👏

nice one Ramon, looking forward to part 2
👍
Just subbed looking forward to future content 👍🏻
thank you Matt!
war spannend anzusehen, Rammon - ich gespannt auf die Entwicklung und wie er diese Menge an heftigen Eingriffen verkraftet
Interesting work. Can you tell me when you should stop curving and what signs indicate that the tree's health is affected? As a newbie like myself, what should I watch and observe? Cheers.
Excellent video. Lots of really useful content. Lovely tree there. Nice one.
Buitifull
Cantik banget Kaka bonsai nya, selalu berkarya, salam sukses 👍👍🇮🇩🇮🇩

Apologies Rammon, as much as I would have liked, I couldn't watch this due to the sliding in and out fades that really hurt my eyes. Hope you find this helpful for future videos.
Im sorry to hear that, i will keep that in mind for the future.
Some great footage of the trees mate . Was nice meeting you and spending some cash on your stall .
Thanks, you too!
Big sumo. Great work keep up the cool videos. Cheers from Ojai Bonsai
Nice looking field maple! Great job getting that initial carving work done, and creating a nice tapered structure. I'll stay tuned for future updates! 🙏🪴🍁
Ý tưởng định hình cây bonsai của bạn thật tuyệt vời 👍chúc bạn nhiều sức khỏe thành công trong công việc ❤❤❤
I was literally just looking at this tree on the Bonsai Uk group. Didnt know you had a youtube channel. Nice work.
Welcome aboard!
Awesome work with the diegrinder 😎Dennis
Thanks 👍
I have in my possession a field maple Planted as a seedling in1938😎Dennis
👍well done rammon..
Interested why no more than 10% moler clay? I sometimes use more than that. Is it affecting the PH? Great work on that stump. It's going to be an awesome tree in a few years.
Its indeed the ph levels. On its own it can be very acidic, almost like kanuma. Acidic soil prevents nutrients been taken up by the tree. Long term it can cause loss of branches.
Ramon, was the carving seen at 36:06 scorched or did you 'colour' it some other way please? Most small lighters I've seen seem to have no power in them to do any scorching with. Really love the background music in this video, brilliant.
Its a wood stain.
If it's not a problem, can I ask which one please?
damn, what kind of dremmel and bit are you using?
On screen at 25:16 in the video.
Thats a terrier from Kaizenbonsai. Available in 2 sizes and one for dremel too
