No, its why YOUR Gladiator EcoDiesel is unreliable. SMH Servicing of any kind can prove to be hazardous regardless of what vehicle you own. This could not have been a more clickbait title.

Dealerships generally have the least FULLY trained "technicians" they are each only knowing a little and do parts changing and the same with my Toyota "Techs" and in fact toyota tells me it's a feathre that my toyout has to be 2 footed on any hill around my home if at a stop. Jeep/dodge/Chevy Ford though are worse than my Toyota dealer is for my Tacoma.. I'm broken and at 60'years old and want to find someone but alas end up having to fix stuff my own.

I have a diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee and dealers have no idea how to support it.

I have a 21 with 61k miles. No issues with the powertrain, I had a rust bubble on the edge of my hood near a spot weld that they covered under warranty. I had the CP4 pump replaced via recall back to the CP3. I have 37s and 4.56 gears. I get 22 MPG, been great to me.

Dude, you are like a Literal “Woman” in regards to Communications - as you attempt to describe (in PAINfull Detail) EVERY little stone and pebble - EVERY little nuance, of EVERY little nook and cranny, of an issue. (And I KNOW what I’m talking about, as I have FOUR sisters 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ - but you are MANY time [worst] than them 😱). I would think tgere has to be a jeep specialist or offroad shop that knows what all the issues with that problematic Italian diesel and knows how to bullet proof it.

Wow I’m actually looking at a 2023 Gladiator Sport S 3.0 Diesel. Yes they are beautiful vehicles, but like them all today very complicated. We always keep a vehicle till about 50k-60k miles before trading. Or as soon as the extended warranty runs its course. Since we had a similar fuse issue in a 1991 Geo Tracker, the first vehicle we bought new. I loved for getting my wife around in very bad snow. But it started blowing fuel pump fuses, that I figured out. But it was past warranty and turned out to be the in tank fuel pump needed replacing at $900! So I threw a 30 amp in a 20amp plug, carried a couple extra and showed my wife how to change. But traded it in very soon. If I buy the Gladiator I will benefit from your advice to get extra fuses.

You should keep the Jeep and just rewire anything near the exhaust or wrap the exhaust itself, or both

I just suffered through your whole video. Let me see if I understand your complaint and why it makes everyone's jeep unreliable. Your truck blows a fuse and you replace it. You don't get in checked out and it breaks down for the same problem again. You get it to your local dealer and accept it back again after they have done nothing to fix the problem. You then break down again for the same problem that has never been fixed. Now you are taking the chance of it still not being fixed since it requires a higher amp fuse than it should. So you are scared it will break down again. Did I miss anything?

Diesel great engine, but DPF is killing all the diesel engines.

Heat also creates more resistance in electrical you should heat wrap All your wiring around the exhaust.

he likely scammed you for a new harness when he probably just cut it open, replaced a bad wire & taped it up, its probably worth keeping, its one of the issues with buying new & newer is they have not had all the bugs worked out yet, this is a design flaw with routing wires too close to the exhaust components so extra heat shielding is necessary as even if it is not hot enough to melt the wires, the plastic end connectors will get brittle crack & get moisture in the wiring causing issues with the computer properly reading sensors.

Have 2 Ecodiesel jeeps one 21 wrangler rubicon 1 22 gladiator rubicon and also have 21 ram 1500 with Ecodiesel. So far only had one prob my gladiator blew the rubber boot off of the intercooler.

Waiting to see what you decided to do. I ended up going with the 3.6l gas engine. Experiences like yours were to common on the forum and other places and I didn’t want to risk it.

Seems like it happens when you tow, obviously the extra load and heat. Buy a 3/4 diesel truck to tow. Keep this as a daily?

Good Lord! It takes you FOREVER to get to any point of interest. No one cares if you got a ride to get groceries, or went to the beach, or saw a bear. I finally gave up trying to see what the problem was. Sorry you've had trouble with your diesel Jeep.

Enjoyed the video. You may have already made a decision to keep it or not. But with that being said, you seem like a smart guy, you just need to learn basic electrical/vehicle things, like the colored plastic wire covers is called insulation, a certain guage wire is rated to carry only x number of amps safety, ect. Per your vid, other than this wiring issue your gladiator has been reliable. You showed that you are willing to crawl under the truck and try and see whats wrong (great first step), now Google how to protect wiring from hot exhaust items, and protect your wiring where it needs it (wrap it in heat shield tape, reroute away from exhaust, ect). Some vehicles just need us to know more about how they work so we can better troubleshoot problems when they pop up. If it was mine, Id keep it, at least you know where the problems are. Again, thanks for posting this vid, it helps other owners what to look for if we have the same problems.

Maybe do a little research before you buy a vehicle? You definitely should have bought a Land Rover.

Why don’t you non stop on the dealer. Camp out if you have too. Shit needs fixed. I would never stop till they either fixed it or replaced it. I’ve got everything replaced or fixed (Not just vehicles) that I have ever bought that turned out to be junk or lemons. And only by never giving up on what’s right.

Why didnt the dealership get you a loaner? I have the same jeep - eCodiesel nightmare. I can back up your story with my own. DEF problems, throttle control system errors constantly. Ive been stuck on the highway more than once. TOTAL PIECE OF SHIT...

Love my Gladiator, but all these stories scare me. It's a delete as soon as warranty is out

30,000 miles on my 2021 diesel. Not a single issue of ANY kind. Sorry for your experience, but couldn't be more different than mine.

All the exposed wires will eventually fail due to heat cycles. I would take the time and heat wrap them. All the loose wires are from shitty techs who don’t care to do things right. Watched the whole video good luck with it don’t trust the dealer to do this for you. Btw I used to be a vw tech not a TH-cam mechanic

As the owner of an old Disco2 that takes a beating, wasn't always reliable at first but still takes me deep into the hardest Jeep trails of Arizona with only 33s and Land Rover traction control I can say those kinda problems sound like a pleasure to my at home mechanic way of life 🤣 I'm considering a Gladiator Rubicon in the next year as I build up the Disco into more and want a newer more reliable thing to easily play in at the same time. I love the idea of the diesel because of the torque and the mpg. But the Hemi is pretty tempting considering I drive a 6.1 Hemi supercharged 300 SRT8 and Hemi just has my attention. I wish they offer a 5.7 Hemi like all the other mopars. Seems weird as a Mopar product they go from the V6 straight up to the 392. Not that 6.4 is so much greater than 5.7 but still why not

Get a gas one or delete it

My diesel has been running strong. Sorry about the headache you’ve been through. I noticed a loose skid plate bolt under your Jeep in your video. I haven’t been pleased with any dealership’s workmanship for years and that loose bolt and the wiring not going back into factory locations is a prime example.

Unfortunately most of the gremlins that have popped up are electrical. Loose fuses, shorts caused by melted wires routed too close to the emissions equipment, sporadic oil leaks and now high pressure fuel pump recall with limited parts availability. That being said the onus falls on the end users …….us. We have to pay close attention and become more familiar with our vehicles than other owners. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but my 2021 JTRD has 44k without major issues. It’s a great platform however it maybe gone in the very near future.

2021 Jeep Ecodiesel. HPFP failure at 13000 miles. Then a month waiting for fix. Get it back. EGR Valve stuck closed code a week later. Now waiting on parts and vehicle-less again. Omg. I half to pull my 1967 international pick up truck from storage to compensate not having my 54,000 dollar vehicle to go to work. Still waiting on reimbursement of 1000 bucks from towing and rental fees from last time. Sorry bro. We get the short end of the stick.

So no issues like this prior to a flash for the DPF? What was the recall for? I have yet to take mine in. I have had zero issues. Does the exhaust now get hotter causing the wire looms to melt? To me you still don’t have a repaired vehicle. A 60amp fuse where there should be a 40amp is a potential fire hazard. I would contact Jeep directly and demand it be fixed correctly or to refund any money you have spent buying and maintaining a vehicle that could potentially burn to the ground because of a dealer bandaid to get you up and running.

Is your gladiator a 2021? You may have mentioned that and maybe I didn’t catch it. I just picked up my gladiator rubicon Ecodiesel about 3 weeks ago. It was built in 3/22. I’m going to look at the wiring now since I’ve seen your video. Wondering if they corrected any of these issue on the 2022 models. The gladiator Is still relatively new, so let’s hope they can work out all of the design issues and bugs.

after watching your video and knowing you have 37's, not sure about a lift, your truck in still under warranty, right? all maintenance was covered. my question is, I'll planning to put a 3 1/2 in lift on 37's and Banks pedal monster. does any of this void my warranty?

Heard a rumor Jeep is dropping the diesel in the next couple of years anywho. I want a diesel gladiator and get rid of my jk, but sorta scared from all the reports of the gremlins! Hopefully the 2023 is smooth sailing .

Have you re-geared after going to 37s? If not, you should. Just because it can push 37s on stock gears, doesn't mean it's doing so efficiently.
