@@space.g0dwould Bruce Lee have surpassed him if he lived longer?
@@anubiisdoesthiis idk if Bruce Lee was as dedicated to making films as Jackie Chan. Cinema seemed to be a tool for him to share his style of martial arts. Which why he e began writing books, producing and directing towards the end of his life.
I agree with @spacegod I don’t think he ever understood why she hated that house/her dad but he understood his girl was in pain and that house made her mad/sad. One of my favorite lines is “sometimes, I guess there just aren’t enough rocks.”
Jenny is a complex character, I feel like she embodies every person who has gone through the traumas she went through. How she didn’t have anyone to help her through what her dad did to her. And I feel like the reason she walked away from him when he said that is because she doesn’t know what love really is, the only person in her life that truly unconditionally loved her was Forrest. Where as Forrest always had his mama until the day she died
Very true. When Forrest is not around Jenny is technically on her own, and she is ALWAYS surrounded by men. Jenny NEVER speaks to a female character in this film. Why is Jenny even considered a villain?
@@INSOMNIAFORLUNCHI don’t understand that either. Jenny is the (and I hate this term) “Daddy Issues” girl. I feel like because of what happened to her at such a young age and with no one to really tell her that shouldn’t have happened to you your dad was wrong, she grows up thinking this is how she should be treated. She even went as far as asking Forrest why is he always so good to her. That shows to me that she doesn’t feel like she deserves Forrest, not because she doesn’t care for him just she is conditioned to think she doesn’t deserve the level of love Forrest gives her.
@@chrisitnacastro3608 Just as much as Forrest is protective of Jenny, she is protective of Forrest. Is it possible that Jenny never dated Forrest to protect him from herself?

imo a lot of the inconsistency in quality with female superhero movies (esp compared to male superhero movies) is that the filmmakers focus too much on making them “strong female characters” and not enough on making them strong characters, with believable and empowering stories that all superhero films should have. girl power or whatever you want to call it should come as a byproduct of a well-written story that stars a woman but any gender can relate to. kinda like how Jordan Peele makes great horror movies starring Black actors, and the racial element is important to the story, but they are also just genuinely good movies regardless. we don’t watch them just for representation, but for actually good representation that feels human.
