Twice Daily (Somerset Folk Song)
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Perhaps one of Adge Cutler's best known and loved songs, it was released as a B-Side on the band's first single "Drink up thy Zyder" in 1967. Deemed too raunchy and banned by the BBC, it tells the story of a farm labourer who begins a physical relationship with a female fellow worker called 'Lucy Bailey'. ("She ups 'n slips, zummat rips, I went there Twice Daily!"). This results in her pregnanc...

Song of the Staffordshire Men (Staffordshire Folk Song)
มุมมอง 23K5 ปีที่แล้ว
I don't know much about this song, but it kind of speaks for itself. It's about the heavily industrialized Staffordshire and all the industries that make it up (pottery, mining, milling and so on).

"The Lincolnshire Poacher" is a traditional English folk song associated with the county of Lincolnshire, and deals with the joys of poaching. It is considered to be the unofficial county anthem of Lincolnshire. And yes, it's also the song that was used in that number station in Cyprus.
One of the businessmen in the old black and white version of 'A Christmas Carol' also whistles this tune somewhere in the first half of the movie.

This was the theme song to a tv show my folks used to watch all the time. It evokes childhood memories for me, and a feeling of nostalgia. It is such a beautiful song, and this is a lush performance of it, I'm glad I found it!
Yes one of the best drama series ever! James Bolam as Jack Ford

This is NOT a piggy song. Also yeah, if you know then it’s okay, I just don’t want songs like this to get crowded with people who don’t know that this song was made before piggy, I myself am a fan of piggy but this is just to spread awareness. :)

💚 For those at the back with their racist ill-behaviour, true folk songs are timeless echoes, resonating across all lands. This is one such melody. 💚
What’s racism got to do with this folksong?
Now I believe that the Georgians (iberians) and Basque peoples are relatives! Listen , please th-cam.com/video/wTws7J8U8uI/w-d-xo.html / song academy - suliko I was looking for my lover's grave I didn't see it... it was lost!... I complained heartily: "Where are you my Suliko?!" I noticed a rose in a thorn to grow up an orphan; I asked with a pain of heart: "Aren't you Souliko?!" Kokob as a sign of consent He shook his head... Snow-pearl celestial He threw it down in tears. Soulful nightingale to hide in the leaves; I agreed with Chituna: "Aren't you Souliko?!" Mgosani was afraid. He touched the flower with his beak, chirped As if to say: "Yes, yes!"
This is so perfect that it be a good theme song for a number station

Well, as a Scottish Presbyterian by upbringing, this lifts the soul. We are not anti-Irish nor anti- catholic. We are all Jock Tamson's bairns, we are all humanity. There is only one race, the human race.

Why didn't they sing this song to their so-called Protestant Reformers when they started the Protestant rebellion" and not later‽ Bwahaha!' 😭 😂 hahaha' 🤣🤣 🥴💫 they should have sang this song' [especially] to John Calvin.. regarding freedom or Martin Luther'. What a contradiction 😢 hahaha' 🤣💥 🔥🤭 only a fool who doesn't know history would fall for this nonsense. Protestant' propaganda myth. They were K*!lling each other LOL' 😕 over their beliefs... Read history you'll find out.

Mein Interesse wurde geweckt durch "Sad Story Of Old Sid from Gateshead: Lass on the Bankies" by MusicalPearls or SteveNielson or musicalJuice1970 (Geordie Barden). Liebe diese Songs und Performances: singende Dichter aus einem Kulturkreis unserer Vorfahren, mit Lebensinhalt aller Arten, Formen, Herz und Seele. Thanks a lot, blessings, health and peace. 🍀🌟🍀💖🍀🌟🍀💖🍀🌟🍀
