You are watching my experience running the 2023 Black Gold 24 Hour Endurance Challenge! And spoiler, I actually won this race! I never thought I would be able to say that. This was my 6th time breeching the 100-mile distance and my fastest to date at 21Hrs, 12 Min. I did take about a 40-minute break at mile 90 to warm up, but otherwise I stayed strong the entire race and just lived in the moment.
The course is a simple one-mile loop around the perimeter of Belfry High School in Belfry, KY. I ran this entirely self-supported from the back of my car because that's how I roll, but this race is hosted by the Tug Valley Road Runners who always spoil their runners with a variety of foods to enjoy. The running, filming, editing, all of the work that I put into this video is the cumulative result of a ton of training and practice.
