The base is a 6.2L, the Z06 is a 5.5L, The E-ray is the 6.2L with electric motor, The Zr1 is the 6.2L with twin turbos. The Zora will be a 5.5L twin turbo with electric motor.

this isnt true, i work for chevy, its a 5.5 liter twin turbo Z06 engine

I'm not totally surprised. I wasn't confident the FPC could have handled the additional stress from turbos. I'm good with the 6.2. Everybody is so focused on sound. Personally, I couldn't care less about the sound. I have no doubt this will have more power than the Z06. that's the bottom line for me.

Don't get me wrong TT AND SC would be unthinkable. Would figure with both it would have at least 900 hp

C8 ZR1 : Twin Charger (1 super Giant turbo + BAS Supercharger from C7 ZR1) , All Wheel Steering just like SVJ , Active Aero , 5.5 L V8 850 HP Crossplane crank LT7 (basically LT3/LT2 but upgraded) , RWD , Active Duty Suspension similar to Smart Suspension of XDrive of BMW , with of course a giant fixed spoiler (non active spoiler) . ZORA : will have all of that but added E-Ray electric engines , with active spoiler making CORVETTE a true hypercar for very 1st time

I think the engineers upon making the new mid engine car wanted to eventually evolve it into a world beater.

Maybe the v6- 3gr engine from the lexus cars can be used in the new mr2 or a new v6-4gr engine can be manufactured for the new mr2 making it a powerful car like the gtr35 or nsx,and rcf supercars.

The new toyota mr2 need a stepup in design and engine,having a new v6 with 500plus hp making it a new supercar like the acura/honda ns-x back engined car reaching out 8n the supercar league.

The flat plane crank motors generally aren't built strong enough to add forced induction!

It will be the 5.5L flat plane crank with twin turbos and will produce in excess of 850hp. The Zora will follow with the same motor along with AWD twin electric motors up front and will have in excess of 1000hp. Both will have Active Aero. Mark my words.

It will never be under 30k if it comes out at all..and maybe a 1.8.hipefully turbo..if not 200-220hp forget it

I got a feeling that zora will be a twin turbo v12 i remember they had a v12 in a 91' or 92' corvette i remember seeing the heads on the motor it said Falconair i think they called the vette ZR-12 i had the magazine back in the day engine looked sick too, I'll try my best to find pictures and upload on TH-cam, it would be sick if they do this with Zora

The 6.2 makes a lot more sense for 850 HP. The 5.5 but not the flat plane crank; cross plane will be a lot more reliable.

They need to start making all corvettes AWD to complete with all super cars. E-Ray is awesome! BMWs are AWD along with the Nissan GTR makes a huge difference with traction, launch control and high HP.

I doubt it will have supercharger in addition to the turbos, but maybe something that exotic might show up for the Zora. However, I'm sure both will be DOHC cross plane cranks.

To Chevy don't waste your time in the idea of a Camaro truck and just go over the top with a ZR1 truck for a specific buyer and that is the Whale . For example the CEO of Nabisco and the CEO across the land .And guarantee a waiting list from Rappers and big pharmaceutical companies it's going to be your turn up at BAT. Bases are loaded ZRI truck drives off it's production line for a GRAND SLAM over and out the park . It's a win win win for Chevy and the motivation posters are coming back in our kids bedrooms of what is the dream cars and why not both Corvette ZR1 and the ZR1truck VETT.

Let's go there with the ZR1 Truck and skip the Camaro and straight to the jugular. Hand out the get well cards while you are at it to our Italian trucks neighbors.

Idk sounds complicated more weight why wouldn’t GM just drop the compression instead of going with supercharger. Turbo makes plenty of torque and leg is almost nonexistent anymore but who knows.

I said this a year ago in comments on a video & was ridiculed for it I had no inside info nor research I saw an exotic car from Sweden I believe that was set up like that & said to myself that'd be great in a vett supercharger for low - mid rpm then turbo to kick in once spoiled up making a freakish torque curve however gm will likely add power to the eray & call it zr1 they worry about EPA regulations as they have no choice

Likely will be 5.5 dohc with regular crank. Still probably able to rev to 7500-8k as the valve train is capable. Turbo for sure but electric supercharger would be wild..boost off idle and will spool larger turbos that will carry to high rpm. Genius

I think it’s pure speculation.

Sounds good in the mind, but I don't think it will work out in the 2-3 years long run. Why ? The amount of plumbing, sensors, electronics, and so forth will, in my opinion, a car that will have to be fussed with almost daily. Too many "points of failure'. I think that just about the time the initial 6 months goes by, the car will have glitches galore. Lots of shop time.. and money. All that being said, I'd still like to see that tried on a production car, but I won't buy one for the street. Maybe they are shooting for the street racer / time attack crowd. Hmmm...
