I hate watching the jump float thing. That makes me not want to get the game.
Gonna wait for Satisfactory on Ps5
Once you play Satisfactory you will realise that Techtonica is a shallow, uneventful experience with a very rigid pathway whereas Satisfactory is a true open world game with beautiful world design with a very ambient sound design with diverse creatures both passive and aggresssive. As @MatthewArangatta says, try Satisfactory then come back and see how Techtonica compares. Satisfactory rightfully won game of the year and has the best community management team and best of all..... no DEI!! Woohoo!
Waiting for the next episode 48:29 . Found you from. Front page and first time here.
Well shit. guess we will never get a ep2

Every time you hit the rocks, I sang we will rock you
I'm glad to see you pick up this game Pige! It's one of my favs. Streaming after the 3 episodes would be awesome, a lets play is cool too though. I think having a separate place for full length letsplays would be better for this channel's health. Also, I could just be picky, but the video looks really compressed.
I had a lot of issues with the quality of this video, it was suppose to be an easy upload and it turned out being one of the most complicated lol. And yeah, given the initial numbers I might just offshore this to a secondary channel immediately lol
Hi Mr. TH-camr. I love you! jk jk I love how finally pige is playing this videogame. "Something completely new for this channel"... like anything is something new to this channel. Even a video. Kapp
haha ohhh man when you said 'honka honka woot woot' that gave me a hearty laugh! Thanks for being awesome Pige!!!
thanks buddy, you're the best!
Θαλασσοφοβία The fear of sea. Its in the word whats not to get :>)
Too bad about the negatives, I was hoping for a good factory game for PS5. I'm sure this will be a deep sale soon.
I take it you did not reach PT Sierra because that's the biggest flow of this game, no power and pumping sand a lot of sand with various refill rate to overcome with various drain rate depending on the current level you are like this: 12-PT Sierra: Refill Rate: 1000kL/min for Drain rate of 2000kL/min per S.Pump 13-: Refill Rate: 1250kL/min for Drain rate of 500kL/min per S.Pump 14-: Refill Rate: 8200kL/min for Drain rate of 350kL/min per S.Pump
the game is fun and I just hit floor 14. the only complaint I have is that the sand levels are retarded. you go from 1000 sand a minute with a pump taking out like 2000, then the next floor has 1250 and each pump is only like 500 and then on 14 we get a whopping 8500 and the pumps do 350. even after entirely upgrading my fuel system and making the pure fuel its just plain not possible to keep up unless I build a factory the size of an entire level just to be able to drain the sand slow as fuck and spend hours upon hours waiting on it to drain. the sand levels need a massive rebalance. the game more or less advances in fair increments until you get to the sand, then they fuck you in the ass and say "have fun".
This was a thoughtful video. I had over 100 hours before the big game-changing patch you mentioned. So all of my saves were incompatible with the new design. I love this game so much that I think I have overlooked some issues I had with the UI. This game scratches such a good itch for me with the automation, optimization, and the plot/ambience/voice acting. You've given me some things to think about but I have been enjoying starting from scratch and building my production loops.
glad to hear you liked the video, and hey if you enjoy the game that's all that really matters. Games don't need to be 'perfect' to be something we love. I just wish I loved this game as much as I initially did before all the changes
As satisfactory and factorio aren't on ps, I wanna get this but I've heard bad things so I'm conflicted
Im like 5-6 hours in. Highly recommended.
15:28 regarding belts. As mentioned hitting 'V' cycles though your belt types and when it does this the game tries to be predictive to what kind of belt you want and sometimes it just gets fucky. However when belt building, if you press and hold 'V' you will open a sub window that will let you individually select what type you want. This makes the belt system feel much better to use. Hell, sometimes it outright feels better than every other factory game because it's so satisfying to build a massive complex belt in a single go then watch it construct itself when I hit that final confirm click.
this game has gone from being a super fun game to an ok game, the previous map let you explore more and build much faster than you do now. very displeased that they changed the map, and that I lost all my saved cities that had built in 845 hours, will no longer spend my time on this game. but for the rest of you who like this type of game, it's worth a try.
Thank you for your time reviewing this game, it's helped me put it into my 'to buy' list, especially as my choices are limited as a PS5 player and not a PC player. On your point of a non flush system, I understand why it would be infuriating for some, but for me this feels more like a plus as having worked in the haulage industry, the real world is never flush, as you put it. There will always be a bottle neck somewhere. So speaking purely personally, I'd actually call this a feature of the game as it introduces a touch of realism. But I can see how this would infuriate other people.
The game is very good, I got stuck in it immediately and for a long time. I agree that the interface is strange. As for the balance and upgrades - I thought it was more a feature of this particular game.
This game is such a letdown.
I really liked this game and played the prereleased version snd the current version where the open world was split up. I think it was a mistake to split the open world up except the end game level/biome. It took away one of the unique identities the game developed for exploration and story telling and flattened that experience. Separating the levels the way it was originally designed would still work and solve the issue where the player needed new space to build and tuck the old factory away to help performance issues. But the end game is the biggest issue. Factoria you get to build a giant factory and it leads to a cool endgame where youre building rockets to outerspace Satisfactory you build up a giant factory and end up building nuclear reactors and start building quantum portal technology or something. In both it feels like you achieved something monmental. In Techtonica the endgame is finding more efficient ways to create fuel to pump sand. Its a boring slog and you cant even take advantage of the ways you automated energy before which makes no sense since you could connect your electric grid to the elevator to every floor but for some reason the end game floors dont recieve that power. It just feels part of the game's formula is to motivate you through negative reinforcement which is big no no in game design and is sadly why despite the ecellent job in everything else this game ultimately fails. I wish it didnt because i really enjoyed it up until that point but it seems like they decided to just wrap the game up and push it out as good enough.
@@EliteLancer7 I didn't even know end game floors don't receive power, I wasn't able to make it past sierra by the full release, shame to hear it's not great
@@RenegadePige at sierra they literally tell you that you cant access the elevator.......
its good i reccomend
Just finished Satisfactory in 200 hours. It was a very ncie game and an enjoying experience. This one here doesn't look so good. in comparison.
Whats bad? UI and level designs. We had OPEN WORLD in early access. after 0.5 they started to change game to what no one asked for
"Balancing issues": ratios aren't perfect
Your comments about flush make me think you will love over- and under- clocking in Satisfactory
Good job with the review - likewise I was an EA player so the open world switch to levels has good/bad pieces. But the music and story are great especially in this genre. Why I couldn’t finish Satisfactory I just felt like what was the point. Either way loving the release
11:40 is when I decided to follow your channel. VERY logical, healthy and accurate point. Early access games have the right to change to better adapt to playtesting, refined ideas and player feedback. 16:59 Satisfactory has perfected the issue of balance, or efficiency as it's more commonly called. As you progress, there are features you can unlock so you can manipulate building output, and another system that also 100% prevents bottlenecks. Definitely give it a try and compare! It's more open world, but it also recently left early access into 1.0, and they refined the overall plot, made it more clear you are trying to achieve something. Sparks sounds like Ada's twin sister, which is the name of the virtual AI companion in Satisfactory. Lots of sass, wit and just hilarious humor. With 1.0 there's also another...entity, and there are times they interact, it's all voice lines and very well done.
Appreciate the follow! I'm definitely going to be playing Satisfactory now and probably uploading the videos. If you're talking about the other entity in Techtonica, I hated Paladin, I think that's his name (the green cube), but I don't think that was the voice actors fault, I just hated his attitude and how he talked down to my girl Sparks 😂
The lack of ratios is what killed this game for me.
Seeing you endlessly clearing the debris with that gadget, it seems like a ton of fun, like 8 hour shift in a store marking goods.
It's like Subnautica without water and scary fish.
Before Satisfactory 1.0 was released I had never played it, I have almost 300 hours of playtime since then, I can't remember when was the last time I played a game for 300 hours or played for 7 hours straight and I'm not done yet, I doubt this game is as good as Satisfactory, but I might give it a try once I get tired of it.
skimmed through the video because it was so drawn out and hard to pay attention to but didn't ever get to the lie part. could you please describe the lie in one sentence? thanks.
Thanks for the informative video I think ill let this one cook some more, although I've heard rumors of abandonware, ill wait and see. 454 hours in satisfactory and still haven't completed it.
Yeah keep an eye on it. definitely too early to tell if it's abandonware, just because it's full release doesn't mean they won't keep updating it. I don't get that initial vibe from the devs that they are gonna abandon this. Only time will tell.
As a player that has been on since the beta, the new update ruined it for me in terms of size restriction, but if you have steam you can go play the beta. The devs ruined it as they effrctivly boxed the map in for console players. Also, the devs have admitted to not working on the game, i have some hope for it but not much. I think they may have a new dev team for it but that is rumors
I've got 2000 hours in Satisfactory and still haven't completed the game and am still loving it. Techtonica is nowhere near the beautiful and polished world of Satisfactory and feels too closed in for me. No enemies or other living creatures in Techtonica just makes the world feel dead, completely opposite to Satiisfactory.
Not played Satisfactory? You need to play it ASAP, the UI/UX and balancing are way better, all that time in early access paid off big. Thanks for the balanced review of this, i've had it on my wishlist since it was announced, but it sounds like it needs a few patches before it's worth putting the time in to.
I hope satisfactory comes to ps5 at some point, I wanna play it so much
Thank you for mentioning that this game is on Gamepass. I was considering buying it, but I think it needs at least one or two more good patches. (In the meantime I'll play Satisfactory and Factorio for another thousand hours.)
When he mentions his 136 hours in Factorio, Dyson Sphere Program, and Shapes 2, and I have over 800 hours in Factorio alone, I can't help but think, "Heh, newbie." =)
lol I knew when I said it I'd lose credibility 🤣
@@RenegadePige Honesty should never lose credibility. BTW, you ought to dip into Satisfactory as well -- first, you might really like it; and second, it will allow you to view things from an additional angle.
@@RenegadePige give dyson sphere program some more hours. its the game that introduced me to factory games. when dsp released in 1 year i put nearly 1000 hours into it, every free moment i had on my pc was dedicated to playing this game. made me pull all nighters i hadnt done since the early 2000s with old school lan parties. i was hooked harder than a crackhead hooker
Excellent review and proper - a review from someone with experience in the genre. ---------------- I love that you looked up the word - as you said it - "Thasalaphobia". "Tha-LASS-ophob-ia - that can't be right - oh uh so it is". Hey, you receive all the merit from the viewer for simply knowing the meaning of the word. This reminded me of 2 fun movie moments though. ---- - Ron Weasley and Hermoine " It's Levi-O-sa not Levi-o-SA" - watch?v=Qgr4dcsY-60 - Mike Myers in 'View from the Top' "ASS-es the window" You need to put the right emph-ASS-is on the right syll-A-ble - watch?v=pmh_6z9AWfc --------------------- I hope the devs pay attention to this review and your suggestions. Because of this review I will be purchasing this game. Best wishes. 🎸
Thassalaphobia still sounds better than Thalasaphobia
Splitting up the map for console performance has put me off tbh.
Ah, so it's now full release? I haven't played in a few months, been working on other things... I'll have to see about getting back to it sometime soon. Probably the worst part about the balancing is that often times an entire system comes to a screeching halt because either one item overflows until it locks up the system or another item from another system dries up and you don't get what you need to keep it running.
Hello! I do not think that you sound like an annoying person. The only thing that makes you match such person is that you are promising a factorio killer game on the thumbnail, but you do not prove that this game is factorio killer, not only that, but you are aware of it aswell. You straight up lied to me with the thumbnail, and this would be going to make me almost black list your channel. I did not find any other issues with your video, or your critique. The way you pointed out the elevator's mismatch of the game is very real. Only the thumbnail was asking things that are not right at all, plus it is about killing, so it is just very bad
Hey brother I get it, you have NO idea how many renditions of a thumbnail we went through 🤣 trust me, my thumbnail guy wanted an even MORE clickbaity title on there. It is how it is, I have to find a balance between an honest thumbnail that will get no clicks and a clickbait thumbnail that gets the numbers. It's a game I have to play that personally, I'd rather live in a world where I don't have to clickbait people to watch my videos, but that's not how being a brand new youtuber works. I appreciate you watching the video though and giving your feedback
@@RenegadePige Your thumbnail guy probably knew that you were talking about a factorio like game, but he did not watch your video entirely. Try to make sure that the person creating your thumbnails actually knows what your video is about before thumbnail creation. Communication is very important, so i can only suggest that you review it yourself before any of you releases the video. The narrator of a video is often blamed for the edge cases. An edge case can be considered when there is a common youtube trope everybody is creating their thumbnails of, and longtime viewers of actual youtube generally start to get sensitive to these, and avoiding it. Against sensitivity issues (for example in my case) i can only suggest any aspect of the content to be original. Originality regarding the content aspect of your critique was original up to the point where you (or your team) started to blame the history of the game, and after that it was acceptable rather to annoying.
@@RenegadePige Have add myself to this, i have been watching youtube vidoes from the beging, and i dislike most of all clikbaity tumps. Just ask him make what is in the context of the video not bullshit what every other do. But i do understand the problem here. I just dent to avoid most clickbaily videos if i don't know the tuber already or get recomented.
I love this Game. But i hate that the free exploring is just gone with the new Elevator. That actually makes me sad because it was so good in the first place. I was so hype about 1.0. I still am. I startet over and it just feels kinda wrong now. But i will grind and push through because i really love this Game. I hope fhg will fix some issues soon. ❤
It was very hard for me to keep an open mind about the elevator when I knew how good the open world exploration was previously, it's such a shame they had to get rid of it.
@RenegadePige it get's a bit more Exploration back the higher u get with the Elevator. But u wont get "rewarded" as much. Can't explain it so well. It needs some Time to get used to i guess.
18:25 Did you have the same issue with "flush" setups in factorio or DSP? Both have productivity that completely nukes any chance of nice ratios
This is so true. Factory game genre is all about optimizing a growing system. And if a system can be made "flush" then the whole game can be "solved" in a spreadsheet, no need to even launch the game.
It's been a long time since I've played either so I can't remember exactly how factories worked, but I do remember I never had this much frustration with un-flush systems. I remember any big project I set out to do in either and figure the math out for was fun and like a puzzle, Techtonica felt frustrating to figure out how to get a system to work. Idk exactly what it is, maybe it was the thresher system that I hate or the UI, or the numbers, but somewhere along the way I kept getting annoyed at making bigger systems. Shapez 2 made things unflush if you upgraded them so I would just wait to upgrade everything at once, but everything about that game is so smooth that I never got frustrated at anything that game does.
I really like Techtonica, just for the aesthetics of the architecture alone :D Regarding the Balancing: This had initially annoyed me as well, but I sort of sidestepped that issue. I simply don't think Techtonica "wants" these perfectly balanced systems where production and consumption match 100%. In Satisfactory I always thought in along the lines of "I produce X of Y per min", and that's all that matters. In Techtonica, it's more "I have X of Y in storage/ on the belt. Do I make more?" Some systems must never back up, like fuel production, but with us being able to burn off organics now that should work out... maybe I'll change my mind after 20 hours or so, but right now I actually enjoy not worrying about exact throughput :D (sorry for the essay xD)
Essay away, that's what the channels about. If you listen to me rant for 30 minutes, least I can do is read a paragraph of your own opinion lol. I also love to hear peoples opinions on the game because I have no idea if I'm right, like maybe all the balancing stuff was just me being really bad at the game 😂 You having the same issues makes me feel less crazy lol
On PS5 I‘m happy to have a Game like this. I don’t know of other titles with similar game styles.
@@RenegadePige The one thing I felt obligated to optimize was loading mining charges into blast furnaces primarily in X-RAY. I was able to get it about perfect without wasting any charges by using the right combination of belt splitters. It felt like a fun puzzle to solve. I get that dopamine hit when I have optimized a system.

Reviewing a factory game "hasn't played The Factory Game" satisfactory🤷
What… haven’t played satisfactory Imma need you to review that
be interesting to hear how it differs from FortressCraft Evolved as there seems to be a large overlap
I already got my hands on that cube already😂
