The biggest thing I HATE about the Scrambler 900 is that I don’t have one! Yet…
Honestly best purchase I’ve made! When you get one you’ll fall in love with it
I've just pulled the trigger on one. Put a deposit down to have it shipped to me from another state (I'm from the US). I'm buying a used 2019 model with only 6k miles, but got it at a bargain price. Absolutely gorgeous machine, and I've missed owning a Triumph since I sold my Speedmaster. The scrambler is going to look so good in the garage next to my Harley. Love what you've done with yours, I might take some inspiration from you when I start customizing
Nice man! Have to drop me a DM on Instagram with a photo when you have it 🤙🏻
@@Nomad_Scrambler will do man!
How do you rate that quadlock mount? Replaces the bar mount yeah?
I love it personally. Had no issues sits nice and central on the bars and gives me maps when I need them
The 400x handlebars are uncomfortably too wide
I agree I think they’re slightly wider than the 900 and although helps handling it wasn’t for me
Sorry pal, you got a misconception on what is a Scrambler. Originally, scrambler derived from road bikes, to become dirt capable (not trail) bikes. The 900 and 1200 have the name scramblers but are not closely as able as the lighter, as all scramblers should be, 400X. They are surely nice bikes, but not fit to aggressively ride on dirt, gravel or muddy roads. One may say the scrambler concept evolved, and I would answer yeah, they evolved to Trail bikes. Scramblers sit between city and trail bikes, and light weight and agility are essentials. Have a good one!
I haven’t got much seat time in on the 400x off road but, the 900 is definitely able to handle itself on light off road stuff. However, I definitely agree scramblers have evolved a lot from the original concept and it’s definitely for the better
400 fuel range eats the 900
For sure! 900 is a thirsty beast!
The Scrambler 900 is great for the urban jungle and well-groomed off-road riding. IMHO, it’s the perfect in-between hybrid !!! It’s awesome that Triumph is going down the dual-sport path with the 400 !!! ❤❤❤
I do like the fact they now have more options especially for newer riders
im on a mutt hilts 125 atm. im looking at getting the scrambler 900 as my next bike. should i buy it and go for my A2 at restrict it to 47BHP? im only 20 so i cant get a full licence yet?
Personally I don’t see why you wouldn’t if it is the bike you want and can restrict it down for use on an A2 licence then send it!
Search in youtube "1959 scrambler race" The result have a lot of vintage videos, look, and you will see that this scrambler 400x is more scrambler that your 900 scrambler.
SS 900s are sick AF. I've ridden thousands kms of mountain twisties around Spain and Portugal on mine, and it eats them up in style. For me, they are the perfect all round bike, with 1960s heritage of the first 'scramblers'. There are loads of cool looking 'scramblers' about, but the Triumph is the classiest... and the exhaust sound is lush when you give the beans even with stock pipes.. Feels like riding a spitfire.
Couldn’t agree more and for that reason it will always be in my garage
Couldn’t agree more and for that reason it will always be in my garage
My 900 this.. my 900 that..this dude is bias, insufferable, ignorant, and completely missed the point why Triumph made these.. don’t let the accent fool you…
😂 of course it’s bias I own the 900 for a reason while the 400 is a great single cylinder scrambler it doesn’t compare not even close to the 900. Better for long distance rides. More power, more style, more class. Why would you want the 409 when you could have so much more and still ride it on an A2 licence
Sounds to me that you bought the wrong bike! Pretty much every gripe you have, is the reason I bought my SS.
You need to watch my reasons why I love the street scrambler. I’d sell my kidney before I sold this bike!
I just bought a 2017 in time to store it for the winter
Wise choice but, still great fun to be had over winter!
For the atom indicator - do you need an adaptor? Or straight swap with the original indicators? Thanks!
I used a small piece of plastic to extend the original bracket but, motone sell an adapter that would work out the box
I used a small piece of plastic to extend the original bracket but, motone sell an adapter that would work out the box
Thanks you ledge!
I'm putting a armadillo 3 gallon gas bad on the pannier
Definitely a solution to the smaller tank issue
@@Nomad_Scrambler Yeah, only use it when you need it, when you get to the end of your trip, empty the armadillo.
900 scrambler would be my dream bike (sound, looks, engine character), but I would be over the moon if I would manage to get the 400x next year as my first bike. It is more likely I will go with a cheaper bike, but the 400X is really cool IMO.
It would be a great first bike! I love the 900 for all those reason but, I wouldn’t choose a 400x over it
Sell it get a Yamaha 700
I’d rather sell my own kidney than sell this bike
13:10 same brother, same. Subscribed. Lets get you to 1000 subs.
Thank you bro! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Zard six days slip ons dude
@@Nomad_Scramblerlooking at their site, is that the homologated or racing version? Really love your content btw!!!
Homologated, cheers man appreciate it!
@@Nomad_Scrambler Out of interest, how much did the Zard's cost you in the UK? Cheers, that is my perfect bike you got there!
Cheers man! Cost around £700 all in but, 100% worth the money. Best sounding exhaust out there
I live in Cornwall, defo some amazing roads down here. I'm looking to get a bike again for the first time in 10 years. The sound of yours is incredible!
Thanks dude! It’s that 270 degree crank! Won’t regret getting a bike again especially in Costa del Cornwall!
That sounds is the best out there!
The sound is the first thing people mention when I stop somehwere, the second is "Doesn´t the exhaust burn your leg?"😆
@ haha, does it? 😁
It does not!
Zard slip ons!
@@Nomad_Scrambler thanks 👍
Ive had my 2024 900 Jet Black for about 2 weeks. First bike ever and im absolutely in love with it.
Yes dude! What a first bike!
I ride my bikes to get away from the daily grind so I'm glad there's no connectivity
For sure a bonus but, when you have no idea where your going it can help 😂
Hey man, love your videos, just got a 900 myself and looking at all the mods to add… I am looking at that exhaust, the six days… did you went homologated or racing ? Appreciate your answer in advance !
Homologated dude
I had the speed twin 900 model 2017 and as much as I loved it , it gave me so many electrical Issues that I had to sell it sadly. I’ve been looking at the scrambler 900 but after that bad experience, I’m feeling reluctant to get another triumph
I’ve heard a couple of people say they’ve had issues with a triumph but, I’ve never had anything bad happen with the bike. It’s never missed a beat
How much does it cost for service bike?
Depends where you go mate I personally don’t use triumph directly so normally about £80 plus parts
Most or my gear is John Doe. The dual layer cargo pants are great for cold temperatures and also help with the heat from your exhaust. Their jackets are also great. Had one slide in them and they´re still fine. My tip for new riders: On off/on ramps (highway or autobahn) drive like they are wet and lean in only as much as you need to. After years of use they can be silky smooth and have severely reduced grip. Also if your Triumph is outside in the winter, keep a heat pack on you. Last winter my start switch was internally frozen and I couldn´t start the bike. Heat pack on the switch for 10 minutes and you´re golden.
Great advice! Cheers my guy!
Shorter rider ?😳 The ‘bigger’ (excuse the pun) question is for guys of 6’1” and over. What’s the riding position like ?
Personally both are quite comfortable for all my taller riders
of course its a scrambler i've never heard so much nonsense the 900 is more of a road bike Ill give you a tip, better to keep your hands on the handle bars, flinging them all over the place is why you keep hitting the kill switch.
Bro be so mad at someone’s opinion he had to voice it in the comments
May I ask what brand/model is your helmet? Hello from the Philippines 🇵🇭🙂
Premier mx dude
Im soo glad non of your complaints is incorporated into the bike. A digital display, are you out of your mind!?
Just feel like it lacks tech compared to the 1200 and 400
Clearly you enjoy the street scrambler, but I have to ask, why the 900 over either of the 1200 scramblers?
Simple answer when I had my 125 I fell in love with the channel motofeelz made me wanna start this channel and just the whole vibe of his bike was cool! So when it came to getting my first proper bike I went with the 900 and honestly not looked back!
Why wouldn`t you want a bike like this? Answer: the price of the oil.
Not to bad in the UK atm but, still nothing on covid prices! So cheap back then
I’ve had my street scrambler sandstorm for 3 years and even though I’ve ridden numerous other bikes including the 1200 version. I still prefer mine and wouldn’t swap it for any other. It’s just too good.
The perfect all rounder and can safely say I want a second bike but, this one is going nowhere!
Shame you can’t convert to MPGs , feet and inches ad inches for us lot born in the last century
Miles per gallon or nothing dude 😂
Bike looks awesome! Thinking about getting one as my second bike, would you say the scrambler performs well in rain/wet conditions?
I mean I’m from the UK so what’s the sun? 😂 handles them like a dream. Long journeys can be fun getting battered by wind but, that’s the naked bike life
@@Nomad_Scrambler 😂 I always forget you guys across the pond have weather like that all the time. I daily ride a Lowrider ST so the long journeys aren’t too bad with it lol. I’d love to have a Scrambler 900 sit next to it in my garage though. Would be an amazing secondary/ bad weather bike for me I think. Thanks for the reply, and ride safe
You too man 🤙🏻
really enjoy your videos! I’m considering getting a scrambler 900 as a daily but am a bit worried about the lack of a 6th gear for my commute, what’s your thoughts on using the bike on a 60-70mph road for 1,5-2 hours?
Cheers dude! The lack of 6 gear isn’t that bad sits about 3.6k rpm at 65ish so doesn’t really bother me
400 x scrambler is verry impressive with its 4 valves and more efficient on stony paths and small country roads that the 900
Great bike. Think you might have missed the point of this video slightly dude aha
Why are you trying to compare it to a 900 model which has over twice the power, so a pretty useless review. Sorry.
Triumphs newest entry level scrambler vs the old entry level Scrambler?
If you have so much to complain about it and so much you dislike about it then why purchase it? And again gripe about the price
Dude it’s not that deep! This is my dream bike, I’m just putting my thoughts out there! This weeks video is literally all the reason I love this bike! I think it’s important as an owner and a Channel to be transparent about the good and the bad of the bike so other people can make informed purchases
Some good points but I feel you may be starting to miss the point. It's a SCRAMBLER.!
I’ve got a new video dropping soon showing the best parts so stay tuned my guy! This bike is sick!
I'm the market as a beginner now and I personally would want to buy a T-100 Bonneville but I also don't want to spend that much money for my 1st bike. Why are we comparing two bikes having half the price of other, what's the point of this?
The scrambler 900 was triumphs entry scrambler for years until the 400x came along so I thought it was interesting to see how it stacked up to triumphs original entry level bike!
The bike sounds fantastic. The range does seem a bit low, 12 lts is too small. My 1988 Low Rider has 16 lt and my 2022 Panam has 21 lt, giving it 250 miles range when touring, it sounds fantastic with a V&H muffler.
It’s small but, for hoping around town or a good countryside blast it’s great!
Thank you for your channel, Nomad Scrambler. This and a couple of other places became my main sources of information to learn about Triumph motorcycles, especially this particular model, and ultimately helped me decide to get this bike. Thank you again for your awesome and valuable channel-you’re making a big impact!
Thank you dude 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’m 59 years old, 5’7”, and weigh 150 lbs. After completing my beginner motorcycle safety class, the instructor advised me to start with a small bike, like a 125cc or 250cc, and wait a year or two before moving up to a bigger one. However, I ended up buying a street scrambler right away. When it was delivered to my house, it took me about a week to feel safe enough to actually ride it. Now, a month later, I have no regrets. Yes, it’s a heavy bike, but once I got used to it-and especially with how easy it is to ride, with smooth shifting and all-I couldn’t be happier with my decision.
Really is quite a tame bike when you get use to it but, coming from a 125 it’s like a rocket ship
I am a professional rider. The SS900 is only shits and giggles off road. Have taken on trails barely a bars width wide. Have hit whoop-de-doos with it at speed- only after some suspension changes. It is god awful heavy, and if you tip it over in deep sand, it’s like lifting a cartoon. Crossed streams and been in ugly mud. This bike is NOT an off-road bike. It’s exactly what it says it is- a STREET scrambler. About the best it can do, reasonably, is gravel/dirt roads ridden like a flat tracker. Full send at 70-80 is a hoot. I pity anyone with minimal skills off road trying to learn them on this bike.
If it’s all you got, you gotta do what you gotta do
While all that is true, back in the day, people took their road machines, stuck some knobbly tires on them and took them down the tracks and trails of the world. This is Retro-Off-Roading 😉
And it’s a pretty good way to do it!
Thank you for sharing the experience! Just one question, how did you fit quad lock right in the middle of handlebars?
I got the Thornton hundred handlebar clamp mount. Essentially replaces the stock triumph one with a built in quad lock mount and it makes my ocd so happy!
Thinking about getting this for first bike, crazy idea?
I went from my 125cc to the scrambler. Was a big difference in weight and power but, wasn’t terrible by any means. Just remember your limits and practice your slow speed stuff in a car park (as ridiculous as it sounds) and you’ll be fine 🤙🏻
nice vlog bro! ride safe always🤘
Cheers dude!
I've done a bunch of offroading on my Scrambler 900 over the past few weeks. The one thing I've learned is, standing up makes things 8 times easier. The bike just does what it needs to do under you and you don't even really notice it.
Will deffo give that a try next time I’m out! Think part of it is confidence to stand and just allow the bike to move about
