I had seen some owners who got Smartfit early and I am soooo excited it's been rolled out just in time for ornament making season!

Does the Aura allow you to select passthrough on the cut? For the Glowforge Pro, I mark the material every 10" and then have a registration mark on the plate so that I can move the material 10 inches down and manually align the remaining print in the software by selecting the bottom of the object and move it 10 inches down. Works so much better than the auto passthrough as that tends to rotate the image just enough to be off.

I really wish somebody would go in detail of cleaning your air assist. There is one for the big glow forages but nothing on the Arura

I saved text (switched to path) as SVG as suggested, but when I upload it into Glowforge it says “No Artwork”. I’m using a Mac for both Inkscape and Glowforge. Thoughts?

Before you snip it in DS, could you first change your images to print and cut so there won't be any outlines to clean up? Sorry, I'm new to inkscape and wasn't sure if you could do this.

Hi Rachel - so question: Why would I need to cut the letters out of the middle piece, and then just cut ONLY the letters in the bottom piece? (then glue them together) Is it because they need to be thicker so they stick up and the kids can grab them to remove them? Back in the day - 50+ years ago... ugh, that just sounds ugly... we used to have wooden puzzles like this, but there was a small wooden nub in the middle that we would grab onto to remove and replace. Could a hole be cut in the center of each letter, knock that wood out, then glue it back in from the top - but not flush - but so that it sticks up about 1/2 way- so they could grab that nub?? Thanks!

I'm already using Cuttle so wanted to reinforce things you said about it in your informative intro. I purchased my first laser--an Aura--just before Christmas. Happily, I had already stumbled across Cuttle. Using it gave me a great jumpstart to learning how to use the laser plus I was immediately able to make personalized gifts. Thanks for your tutorial.
