Subaru STI PB at Summit Point Shenandoah 1:37:658
มุมมอง 1589 หลายเดือนก่อน
WDCR Time Trails Event #2 at Summit Point Shenandoah track. I was driving my Subaru STI on Bridgestone RE-71RS. This was my first time in the time trails group and it was a blast. I beat my old PB from last year by over 2 seconds.
The STI Gets Wet 💦💦

Took the Subaru STI out to autocross with the local Mercedes Benz club. Very wet in the morning and a little better in the afternoon. Ended up FTD and 2nd for the event.

No external mic??
When you get a Supra?
car seemed to love the cold air! i am wondering if you might benefit from a lap belt locker or clip-in harnesses?
100% the seat doesn't really hold me in place very well.
Man, this feels like an old Corvette Club course
That's not what binding means lol
Fastest Twin in the World 🌎 😂
Those were some CLOSE times.
Yeah Baby!

😂
Damn❤One day Insallah I will Learn to drive like this❤
Grats on FTD! What tires were you running at this event?
We were running on the rains michelin pilot sport 4s
spicy finish!
Yehaw!
Very clean and fast!
nice
That was some precision driving! Congrats
Nice thumbnail, got me to click :D
@0:22 If my brother had the series 2 4.77 rear diff he might be able to keep up with the mighty tighty ND 2nd gear digs. Nice comparison video Greg.
There is a lot of fastness going on here.
Damn Matt out here left foot braking
Thanks Greg, I need to examine the slow mos a few more times to see where you're stronger.
Seems like you found a lot of time on me in the big middle ess section... guess I didn't find the best compromise line through there. Great driving, I agree, top 3 all cheated up! 😂
@@rx8matt I really focused on nailing the backside at 0:55 to set myself up for the middle section
1000/10
Wait, do me, do me! I found that even on a single low speed corner dig I lose 0.4-0.5 to ND miatas. Would be neat to see rx8 vs miata at the hairpin exit
We already know your RX-8 is faster than my BRZ from the Refrigerator Bowl video a few years ago. Can you keep up with the Pwr of the Mighty ND? th-cam.com/video/UVkfGcP3Fwc/w-d-xo.html P.S. Not good at video editing so I had to watch a few youtube videos on how to do all this. Meh for a first go at it.
@@gregory549 thanks Greg!
@@gregory549 I'm beginning to suspect that if it's a really slow dig, my rx8 has very little torque and 65mph 2nd gear and I suffer, but at higher rpm the rx8 is pretty dang strong so maybe I gain during long "straights". Will take a closer look tonight
Nice
you are going fast!
Hell of a lap. Re71rs? They were really talking!
Yes. Fresh set of RE-71RS. They were sticky. I was pushing super hard.
Nice! Miss taking my '01 R1 on the Shenandoah track. Loved track days so much! Never made it over to Main though. Have an '18 STi that I would like to do this with, but it's my daily and would be screwed if something happened. 1st world problems!
Sub's aren't bothered by water! Nice runs in the tricky conditions.
The PS4S certainly helped a ton in the wet. In the dry I could easily feel the lack of grip with those vs the RE-71RS I've been running.
Good to know. I'm in the market for good rain tires.@@gregory549
I like the subtitles
It's a Ralley car....
Awesome edit, subtitles, very nice
I like my shroth ASM bolt in harnesses... might be something worth checking out
I've got a G-FORCE Autocross Torso Harnesses coming to test out this weekend at Summit Main. Considering a seat if I can use the stock seat belt.
2:12 is cooking. Oak tree has always been hard to judge visually, uneven terrain at the entry
Love these vids, Greg.
Holy cameras batman, love it
Nice setup, runs and comparison. Would have been nice with some snow on the surface thought! That STI WANTS it!
Champ!
Multiple camera angles, I like.
My dad has a 2020 WRX, using factory camber allowance. How much autocross speed might he find with all the cambers? Right now he has 245/40/17 and surprisingly isn't rolling into the front shoulders TOO badly
I don't know. I can tell you with max factory camber on 245 PS4S I had a ton of roll over at the track and autocross. Maybe I never found the right tire pressure. Maybe I was just over driving the tires. My Co-Driver said it is worth .5 on an autocross course.
at least things started to dry up a bit!
Wow, looks like a tough day. What tires were you running for that? Also, Solo Storm has come a long way, looks really good.
Michelin pilot sport 4s. Infact I changed off the RE-71RS at 7:00 the night before after looking at the forecast. Glad we made that call.
holy cow i'm glad i sat this one out. jefferson in rain is sketch. you guys bru=ought the right car for the weather though! also loved brian's commentary...
Damn that weather is rougher than I thought. Jefferson downright terrifying.
If you made it without nails in your tires it was a good day 😂
Did people get nails at Boxerfest!?!?
Shoot walking the course for autocross I had 4 handfuls
YEA BABY, WOOOOH! YEA!
Thats a helluva bump there
