@@JeanJulesHappyDoc They are not venomous thankfully ! I am not a fan of anything venomous lol so I definitely wouldn’t have one if they were. What I have heard is that some of the larger ones have some kind of a mild venom in their saliva. But not enough to do any damage. With the large monitors it’s their teeth you have to worry about more so than anything else lol. I’ve been keeping medium size monitors for the last 4yrs & to be honest, I’ve took a few accidental bites & nothing ever happened Other than a small bite mark that went away after a couple days. Hope that answers your question lol. There’s so much different info out there, I’ve always thought it was better to go right to someone that actually keeps them. So I appreciate the question !

@@aydenmiller952 It’s actually a car magnet ! I got it from Amazon awhile back. Think it was only $10. Not a bad deal at all ! I’m trying to remember the name of the actual company….i think it’s called Sticker Talk ? After having it on my car for over a year…. The ends started to not stick, maybe From the sun & rain ? I didn’t wanna lose it so I took it off & there it sits now lol.

@@powerzx I know it’s hard to tell in the video…but it actually has 3 or 4 larger holes on it….large enough for him to get his hand/ arm in there to get the food out. Large enough for him to get his nose in there too. If the whole ball had large openings, the food would just fall right out and it wouldn’t be much of a challenge then.

Haha yeah I’m sure that’s probably what happened. & since he knew it was “treat time” he thought I had something for him in my hand. I thought it was weird though, because I always have that same ring on and my hands are always around him so I would’ve thought he could tell the difference between that & a piece of food. That was the 1st time he’s ever done that. But yes I agree….better to be safe than sorry ! 😏🤣

@@Choso._ Hey thank you I appreciate that ! & the Savannah belonged to a friend of mine, and he thought it was a male hence the name JoJo lol….But… I’ve had it for at least a year now…& I’m pretty sure it’s a female too ! I had another Savannah for 4yrs & that one was a female. I keep thinking back & trying to compare the two…I agree, I do believe JoJo is a girl….& will need a new name ! Haha 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

@@Tarras.Snake.Treasures They are both fun & each have their own unique personalities that’s for sure ! My peach throat is definitely more friendlier than the Savannah is….. I’m still slowly working with that one…..she’s no Joanna though ! That was my pride and joy Savannah that I had for like 4yrs. She was amazing 🥰 Haha Skid & Pooh bear, that’s funny🤣🤣

That’s so interesting! Peach throats are the ones that are known to be “flighty” and hard to tame while the savanna’s are supposedly chill and easy going. It’s backwards in your pair ❤

@@amysreptileadventures6664 Great, I've been procrastinating on this enclosure though. Needs to be redone with epoxy which I've never done so I've been being lazy, lol. I was actually sitting down to edit some clips when I saw your video notification, so I watched that before I started working.

Sorry, I just noticed your comment on this video….my apologies ! I actually got this ball at Pet Supplies Plus. It’s a pretty big pet store ! Much better than Petco or pet smart lol. I found it in the dog toy section ! They have lots of different ones there ! I definitely liked this one because it has a few larger openings mixed with the smaller ones so they can eventually get the pieces of food out lol.

The tent came with a pretty nice bottom liner actually. But….after getting some tips from this dude that has 5 peach throats…. juvenile to adult….& each one is in a separate grow tent… He told me that he never uses the tent liner… because it would just be something for the lizard to possibly dig through the substrate and get underneath the liner & maybe get stuck under there. I thought that was a very good tip and I personally didn’t want to take that risk either. So I didn’t use the liner…. I just put the substrate right on the bottom and everything has been good so far ! The tents are made to hold heat and humidity and moisture. The material is pretty strong and durable inside and out ! 😉🤙🏻

Can’t get the link to copy & paste for some reason ? I ordered it on Amazon & the brand is Caubak - venustani grow tent. 4x2x5. But it looks like that size is out of stock at the moment, but they do have other sizes available. Another good brand of grow tents I’ve seen a lot of people use is the Vivo sun brand. That brand has the same size as the one that I have if you’re looking to get that same exact size. I actually almost got the vivo sun lol.

I think this would work out good for a mangrove as well ! Since mangroves & peach throats are part of the Indicus complex. Both need ground space, height & lots of climbing options & a decent size water feature. The lattice works out great in there because you can just rest the branches on the openings and then zip tie everything nice & snug lol. I love mangroves as well…they’re pretty awesome !

Naaaa….not at all ! 🤪😏🤣 In all honesty…I have been trying to figure out a different name for him for awhile. & trying to not call him Georgia anymore when he’s responded to that name for over a year…has been a bit difficult 🤪😣 You just get used to calling them by a certain name so it just sticks 😣 But yes, he needs a new name lol. & the Savannah belonged to a friend & it was named JoJo thinking it was a male….but after it got a little bit older & I still didn’t see any male parts lol…turns out it’s a female…in need of a new name as well ! Good points & thank you for the tips ! I totally forgot about reinforcing the inside perimeter ! Good looking out lol ! I’ll hafta run to Lowe’s/Home Depot for some cheap bricks. Good thing both stores are 5min from me lol. & thank you for the input on the 2nd basking spot. Great minds think alike haha, I already have a 50w halogen in there. The bigger basking spot I have a 80w deep heat projector & a 75w halogen…Will that be too hot do u think ? I could swap out the 75 for a 50 ?

Thank you I appreciate that ! & I wasn’t a fan of the tents…until I had to go this route lol. But now I’m seeing that they aren’t too bad ! This is my 1st time messing with a grow tent…little own trying to turn it into a temporary reptile enclosure haha ! It’s been a struggle & a pain in my 🤬at times 🤣😂 But… it’s not looking too shabby & I think it’ll serve its purpose for a while ! My poor peach throat has been long overdue for an upgrade..so this will be great !

Thanks ! It actually looks better now, I’m almost done with it. It does have a heavy plastic window on the door. It also has a “shade” that goes over the window that you can roll up & secure. That way the window is always visible. I know a couple people that cut the plastic window out and do some kind of Framework and replace it with a heavy duty wire mesh ? That way there’s more direct airflow in the tent. But that’s above my skill leval ! lol I’m not even sure how that would be secured onto the tent material ? 🤷🏼‍♀️😵‍💫🤣

Thank you & sorry to hear about your water dragon passing away. That’s so sad. I can relate to that because I recently lost my amazing 4yr old Savannah monitor back in December. Still trying to get over her loss. 😢 The enclosure that Georgia is in currently is a Repti Zoo 36x18x24… he should’ve been out of that enclosure along time ago. But I had a series of unfortunate events that happened. & I have a 8x4x4 custom build that’s half completed for Georgia, but unfortunately that one is on hold for awhile. So in the meantime, I had to get a 4x2x5 grow tent so I can at least get him outta that small enclosure until the 8x4 is completed. The tent is up, just have to do some stuff on the inside and hang the lights and all of that. It’s been a struggle 🤦🏼‍♀️ but at least i’ll be able to get him into something bigger very soon !

@@amysreptileadventures6664 Overall I would be dead scared if any of my scaly babies (I have three reptiles) fell sick. Vets are super expensive (I'd do anything to make my babies feel better, but here in the UK they're not very knowledgeable so that's a major concern for me. And yeah, ackies are super fun. My lil guy is a lil annoying lol! Ackies are like scaly ferrets tbf. They'll climb everything, just for fun. They'll destroy anything, just for fun 😂

Hello to you ! & thank you for subscribing ! 😉🤙🏻👍🏻 I’ve had Georgia for a year and a half now. I bought it as a baby and was told it was a female, but recently discovered it was a male. That discovery is in one of my videos lol. He’s always had a slight kink at the end of his tail. Over the last month that kink seemed to get worse and worse I still don’t know why ? He might’ve possibly injured it somehow ? I took him to the vet one week ago & because the tissue was pretty much dead…poor Georgia had to have the last inch & a half removed from the end of his tail. But thank god he’s got that super long tail. It hasn’t seemed to phase him much at all. That should catch you up to speed about Georgia lol 😆😉🦎Thank you again for subscribing ! 🤙🏻
