New Findings, New Questions from the Recently Opened Archives of Pope Pius XII
On April 16th 2024, the Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies at Saint Leo University, Florida, organized an online scholarly program featuring Dr. Robert Ventresca. In this video recording of the program, Ventresca shares excerpts from the Vatican’s newly opened Holocaust-era archives to examine the role of Catholic institutions and individuals, including the Vatican itself, in various forms of rescue during the Holocaust. New findings from the archives show that the lessons of history are complex, and challenge us to consider the social, geographical, and institutional factors that influenced the moral choices of Catholic religious leaders and laypersons during the Holocaust. This program is designed to make some of the research and insights from the 2023 Rome conference at the Pontifical Gregorian University organized by the Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies, the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, and others, available to students and members of the community.

New Perspective on Paul is a movement that involves many Jewish scholars oddly enough: Paula Frederiksen, Daniel Boyarin, Gabriele Boccaccini, Geza Vermes, Pamela Eisenbaum, Mark Kinzer, Nark Nanos, Amy Jill Levine, Isaac Oliver di Oliveira etc.
Was the Our Father prayer said liturgically? It is said the last line, no longer found in modern editions but it proves it existed as liturgical material. Much enjoyed his and other talks. If gentiles are not to keep commandments dose that mean gentiles do not love Jesus because He says if you love me keep my commandments? And one more is Baptism like a Mikva?
Catholic and our first parents on earth who are Jewish people that we should be thankful for given us our father in heaven the commandments laws, rules regulations and his precepts thank you to Israeli and Jewish people. Jesus was more Jewish than any Jew. Love you all !! ❤
Of course it is anti-Jewish.

Thank you

Some of the Christian comments on this r hilarious every stereotype is represented
The old Covenant people who do not re graft not would be the Anti Christ/God , as ia satan , Jude "Satan contended for the body of Moses,, the people of Moses who rejected the Messiah, to which Michael the angel of Israel did not oppose but only rebuked, which rebuke was to a future contention not for physical Israel but for Spiritual Israel Protestantism is but a false religion with its basic understanding of the Redemption act in Error, for the reason this woman understand not it was her sins that striped him,
Oh my, what a treasure trove of information, i am so impressed. BTW i wonder if i might ask for exposition on a word i recently crossed in my biblical studies. The word is ezer kenegdo, thanks in advance.
Jesus and Paul taught totally different.Paul taught in mysteries,in circles, and alot of his own thoughts.Jesus taught in parables,to hide the truth from satans children, then He taught prophecies, He taught some deep wisdom, but mostly demonstrating the simplicity.of the gospel, matter of fact.
REASONS WHY THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IS THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH 1. You can read about it in the New Testament church. (MATTHEW 16:18; ROMANS 16:16; ACTS 4:12) 2. It has no creed but the Bible, binds no name on members but Christ’s. (ACTS 11:26; l PETER 4:16) 3. Its acts of worship are patterned after New Testament examples. (JOHN 4:24; ACTS 20:7; I CORINTHIANS 16:1-2; EPHESIANS 5:19; COLOSDIANS 3:16) 4. It teaches that UNITY can be achieved on all doctrinal disputed questions. JOHN 17:21: I CORINTHIANS 1:10; EPHESIANS 4:4-6) 5. Its future: Eternal Glory with Christ. I THESSALONIANS 4:17; MATTHEW 7:14) THE CHURCH MUST WARE HIS NAME
As a Protestant Christian I really liked her presentation and see many similar ideas to Dr.Michael S.Heiser PhD in O.T languages.
A casual assessment looking across the social landscape of today’s post-Covid world answers these thorny questions. All the convoluted Talmudic arguments of self justification and blaming “the other” fly in the face of the obvious reality. St. Paul had it right.
The important thing for the Jewish people,is to except ,JESUS THE CHRIST, FOR WHO HE REALLY IS AND HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ( I AM ,GOD OF ADAM/ EVE,and ABRAHAM)
Half way through and Professor sure packs in some dense information. What some would take four episodes to do, she does in one😊
Wow. This is some lecture.
Wow I had no idea I could tap into the merit of the amazing Pharisee in the synagogue. Who needs Jesus?
As Jews, we certainly don't
@@urbandiscount - we’re told it’s wrong and potentially dangerous to oversimplify and categorize any such group of people as “the Jews”. Who are they? What is anti-semitism? Is it any idea a Jew doesn’t like? Or is it a bad idea about any Jew? Entering into a discussion often reveals the chimera-like quality of any reference to a such a collective. The term first entered the popular lexicon in the mid 19th century when Wilhelm Marr used it as a way of defining the difference between a racial category from that of a collective attitudinal or “spirit” concept. Are “the Jews” a race, a collective attitude or “spirit”, a religion, or all three? You say “as Jews we certainly don’t” need Christ. The scripture and the Church say you and everyone else do need Him for your eternal salvation. That will never change regardless of the complexity or one-sidedness of the discussions in Catholic/Jewish dialogue. Dialogue necessitates the sharing of two points of view.
The Phds of this world need not be to the truth of heaven,
Maybe the New Testament wants me to hate Jews in the same way the Old Testament wants me to hate Gentiles.
So refreshing to hear Dr Levine's perspective.
Is it true that Paul kill Jesus followers
No it’s not true at all.
Yes he hunted christians before he encountered Jesus in a vision. After that he stopped and changed his name from Saul to Paul.
its not clear at all it could be anything from killing to simple questioning

MATTHEW 5:17 THINK NOT THAT I HAVE COME TO DESTROY THE LAW OR THE PROPHETS: I HAVE NOT COME TO DESTROY, BUT TO FULFILL. FOR VERILY I SAY TO YOU , TILL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS, ONE JOT OR ONE TITTLE SHALL IN NO WISE PASS FROM THE LAW, TILL ALL IS FULFILLED. READ ISAIAH 66 WHEN YES-SHOE-AH RULES THIS WORLD FROM JERUSALEM FOR A 1000 YEARS THE PENALTY FOR BREAKING THE DIETARY LAWS AS LAID OUT IN DEUTERONOMY WILL BE DEATH 1ST CORINTHIANS 15:50 NOW I SAY, BRETHREN, FLESH AND BLOOD CANNOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF YEH-HOE-VAH! THERE IS NO ONE ON THIS EARTH THAT IS BORN AGAIN, WHEN YOU ARE BAPTIZED YOU ARE BEGOTTEN AGAIN OF INCORRUPTIBLE SEED. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A PERSON WHO WAS NOT BORN FLESH AND BLOOD AND DIED FLESH AND BLOOD! EVEN YES-SHOE-AH WAS BORN FLESH AND BLOOD AND DIED FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT WAS BORN AGAIN ON HIS RESURRECTION WITH HIS SPIRITUAL BODY TO LIVE FOREVER! THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET PASSED THESE STATEMENTS BY YOUR SAVIOR, KING AND HIGH PRIEST FOREVER IS TO COMPLETELY IGNORE THEM AND BELIEVE A GODDAMN LIE!! THERE IS NOT A NEW COVENANT, BUT A RENEWED COVENANT, THE VERY SAME ONE THAT ISRAEL WAS OFFERED AT THE BASE OF MT.SINAI!!. IF YOU TRANSLATE THE WORD "LORD" INTO HEBREW, IT IS "BAAL", AND IF YOU ARE GOING TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY AND WORSHIPPING THE LORD YOU NEED TO GO TO 1ST KINGS 18:1-46 AND SEE HOW THRILLED YEH-HOE-VAH IS WITH YOUR WORSHIP. OH BY THE WAY,DID YOU KNOW, "EASTER" IS A BABYLONIAN FERTILITY GODDESS?? ! REVELATION 2:10 YES-SHOE-AH TELLS THE CHURCH HE HAD NO CORRECTION FOR; "BE FAITHFUL TO DEATH AND I WILL GIVE YOU A CROWN OF LIFE" ! THIS ENTIRE LIFE IS A TEST, IF YOU PASS YOU LIVE FOREVER ON THE EARTH RECREATED IN THE PARADISE STATE, IF YOU FAIL THE LAKE OF FIRE! GRACE IS THE ABILITY TO LIVE A RIGHTEOUS LIFE IN A SICK AND TWISTED WORLD, TO BELIEVE AND TO HAVE FAITH, IS TO OBEY YEH-HOE-VAH'S WORD AS HANDED DOWN TO MOSES, BUT IF YOU DO NOT OBEY AND LIVE A RIGHTEOUS LIFE, THEN THE CURSES DETAILED IN DEUTERONOMY 28:15-68 YEH-HOE-VAH HAS PROMISED TO YOU, WHEN YES-SHOE-AH, A.K.A. JESUS, SENT HIS DISCIPLES OUT TO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM AND TO BAPTIZE AND HEAL THE PEOPLE AND CAST OUT DEMONS, THE LAST SUMMER OF HIS LIFE, IN HIS FLESH AND BLOOD BODY, THE NEW TESTAMENT DID NOT EXIST! SO THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM IS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT , NOT CHERRY PICKED SENTENCES, OUT OF A SEVERAL PAGE LETTER, WRITTEN TO ENCOURAGE 1ST CENTURY BELIEVERS WHO WERE RAISE FROM CHILDREN OBEYING ALL OF YEH-HOE-VAH'S COMMANDMENTS AS HANDED DOWN BY MOSES, THAT IS INCLUDING OBSERVING THE SABBATH FROM FRIDAY SUNDOWN TO SATURDAY SUNDOWN!!!!! EVERYONE WILL BE REWARDED OR PUNISHED ON THEIR OBEDIENCE TO YEH-HOE-VAH'S WORD! IF YOU ARE NOT PREACHING THE EXACT SAME DOCTRINE AS THE YES-SHOE-AH TAUGHT HIS DISCIPLES, YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF LEADING ANY ONE TO SALVATION!I IF YOU OBEY THE LAW OF YEH-HOE-VAH AS HANDED DOWN TO MOSES, YOU HAVE FAITH, IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE LAW OF MOSES, YEH-HOE-VAH STATES YOU HATE HIM AND HAVE NO FAITH AT ALL!!!! FOR THE PATHWAY TO HEAVEN IS NARROW AND STRAIGHT AND THERE ARE FEW THAT FIND IT, IF YOU ARE IN THE VAST MAJORITY, ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE YOU ARE GOING TO THE LAKE OF FIRE!!!!!! FOR BIBLICAL KNOWLEDGE ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE GO TO AROODAWAKENING, HIT THE PLAYLIST BUTTON AND CHOOSE FROM 100'S OF TEACHINGS!!!
Quite interesting. But, perhaps re-study Sodom and Gomorrah.
50:18- In whatever state you came to #AvinuMalkienu remain as such, Jew and gentile... 54:08- Parables
I believe if you read the Scriptures carefully what you see is how the Pharisee's we're teaching the people to follow the Law through the circumcision of their flesh and the works of their hands. But Paul could see that by following the Law we cast a shadow in the image of a Pharisee which looks like; pride, self-righteousness and judgment. So Paul sought to teach the people to follow Christ through the circumcision of their heart and the work of the Holy Spirit. For he knew that those who follow Christ, who is The Living Word, we would cast a shadow in the image of Christ which looks like the Law, having been sifted through a new heart and spirit of Love (Jeremiah 31:31-33).
th-cam.com/users/shortsyTA4nDhq7SU?feature=share Says it all.
It doesn't seem like she actually believes either Judaismm or Christianityy, they both CAN'T be true. Jesus either is God or he isn't, if he is and you aren't Christian then whatever you believe is blasphemous and of course, if Jesus isn't God then Christians are blasphemous. . .

My last comment was deleted. But Online it says she's an Orthodox Jew. She calls herself "A Yankee Jewish feminist." That says it all....
he isn't. And indeed, seen from judaism and islam, Christianity is blasphemy. It is why Maimonides was more stringent about jews returning to judaism from christianity than from islam, because he saw the former as not purely monotheistic.
@@urbandiscount Jesus is God as he states "I am " before Abraham was born! Christianity comes from the Two Powers in Heaven Israelite theology that recognized the 2 YHWH's in Genesis 19:24. The trinity comes from this Israelite theology.

If the New Testament is considered anti- semitic, then the Old Testament is much more so. God wants to wipe out the entire population of the Israelites and make a new one from Moses's offspring. The Old Testament contains very strong terms against the Jews uttered by God while condemning their unfaithfulness to him. The Jewish prophets too used strong language against the Jews.
Yes. Nu? Intense debate is a Jewish hallmark
Our Lord Jesus Christ does want to die. He came into the world to die. And save sinners. “Not My Will but Thine be done” refers to the sadness He felt at knowing not all men would be saved but only some. Many would reject Him and therefore NOT be saved by His shedding of His precious blood and His death.
Little faith. Nicely said. May God bless you forever
Aww thanks! And you too B!
If he is God and he didn't want to die, he just wouldn't have died. I think the concept that Jesus would, as the physical embodiment of God, would have to choose to be hungry, thirsty, tired, weary, sad, etc. Is often lost on people. And that he would have to choose to die as well. He can't be killed because only he can separate his soul from his body, so his life is something he has to give up of his own accord. It's a very profound concept, and too often neglected
...I agree that He absolutely knew that He had come to die. "And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem." Luke 9:51 Even in v53 "And they did not receive him, because his face (plan), was as though he would go to Jerusalem." Nothing could change his plan. But as far as him praying in the Garden "If possible take this cup from me" Jesus was also showing his humanity, he was in a flesh body and he was preparing himself to drink the cup of wrath for every person who would ever be saved. Sweating as it were, huge drops of blood. Knowing for a time, on that Cross the Father would crush him and turn His face away. Isaiah 53:10 "Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him: he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin..." This was the plan from Eternity past. God does not have a plan B. He does not fail. Acts 3:18 "But those things, which God before had shown by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath fulfilled." Peter says here. And Acts 2:28 He tells us it was determined before hand by God's counsel to be done. Jesus was there in Eternity past when this was determined. He knew, still it was not easy. But look what he has done for us. It's truly incredible. That's why no man can justify himself. God is beyond Glorious. 📖🌷
Wonderful lecture. Learned a lot. Thanks for sharing the video.
Pagan.....
Dr. Levine love listening to you but you are really over reading into this Pharisee thing, the cultural setting in the Bible was Jewish and am sure certain groups at that time were flustered by Yeshua teachings…..what’s more sacrilegious n anti semitic is in the rabbinical literature which I believe was written by the grandsons of the Pharisee about polemicizing Yeshua eg. Jesus burning in excrement really disgusting thing against the Jewish Messiah, it would be great if you could work on redacting that and asking for forgiveness
the relation jew-cath goes nowhere until jewish community kill the Talmud verses against Jesus, Mary and Christianity ( 2nd class citizens) and accept that they do wrong. It won’t happen. She is just one more elite teachers thinking that the stupid christians don’t read history. The father in the end serve well to her cause. One more ignorant priest.
She is a teacher, but she DOES NOT NEED to be so annoyingly condescending. If she is not really insufferable, she should definitely change her tone. And she made a few mistakes so …
Stupidity must prevail in the human race. JESUS AND SATAN AND THE HOLY SPIRIT AND GOD ARE GAY AND HAVE ORGIES .... IT IS THE HOLY BOOK THE BIBLE AND IT IS A CATHOLIC BIBLE ....SO BELIEVE BECAUSE IT IS THE ORIGINAL HOLY BIBLE.
Everything except the, “I was crying because I thought I killed God”. Strike one. I better add the “. . .but because it is easier to forgive sin than a debt” reasoning on the grounds of incoherent logic. Strike two. [is 😮 it ] “rescue us from evil or The Evil One . . .what is easier to forgive, a sin or a debt. Something worth thinking about”. Strike three. It is not worth thinking about. All in all, what we have here is a failure to communicate the unbearable lightness of being Chauncey Gardner in the flesh - but I knew that or I didn’t.
When the Jewish people understand the concealed lexical connection between the name Judah and the word for "ladder," sullam, a hapax legomenon in the Tanakh, and a word that is used only once in all of second temple literature, in the "Testament of Judah," only then will they understand the methods of narrative construction employed by their ancestors, and it will be the beginning of a whole new era of scriptural exegesis. 𒄿 = i = "praise" 𒄿𒇻 = simmiltu, composed of "i" and "udu/lu" Simmiltu is the Akkadian word for ladder and is cognate to "sullam." It also has one other meaning, i-lu, which could also be seen as the phonemes i-udu (lu and udu are the same sign), and i-lu is referred to in Akkadian as niutu (from a reading of i-lu as i-udu), meaning "joyful song" as well as "lament," and niutu is cognate to many Hebrew words related to lamentations. However, as it can be seen as i-udu (and is "niutu"), and as "i" means "praise," this is cognate to the name Judah, and this is the link between the name Judah and the word sullam. The ladder is a "prophecy" about Judah, foretelling Judah's climbing of the ladder in the "Testament of Judah." The Judaic tradition holds that the angels of various groups, such as the Greeks, Babylonians, and Edomites, climbed the ladder and reached various heights, with the angel of the Edomites reaching far above the rest. In the "Testament of Judah," Judah climbs the ladder in an assault of the Edomite stronghold, which leads to the fall of the city and the sons of Esau. They constructed the narratives of the Tanakh using a form of esoteric philology, echoes of which have persisted in the Judaic tradition even to this day, even though the original intents and meanings have been long forgotten. A similar form of esoteric philologizing can be observed in the use of 𒅖 (saḫar, AKK. eperum, "dust") in the foundation of the Israel arc. 𒅖 is isiš, the cuneiform sign for ṣihu, which means "laughter," and is the cognate of the Biblical Hebrew word from which Isaac was derived. It also represents iš, "sand," and mil, "flour." It also represents šadu, "mountain." So, in the chapters of Genesis from Ishmael's birth, through the introduction of the name El Shadday (from šadu), through the classification of Abraham as ha-Ibri (from eperum, as the Abrahamites were actually "apiru"), through the renaming of Sarai to Sarah (phonemically similar to sahar), and to the bizarre naming of Isaac after a word for laughter... the Hebrew scribes used this cuneiform sign to construct the names of the narrative. Furthermore, the first attestation of the name Israel is from Ebla as Iš-ra-il, where the iš is indeed the sign in question. And Jacob is renamed Israel after fighting in the dust ("powder," placed as a wordplay with the name Jacob as the word for powder is phonetically similar to Jacob) with an 'iš, "man."
Date doesn't make sense- March 2022?
I agree with almost every redefinition of Dr. Levine, but how she gets there is unacceptable to evangelical - fundamentalist. They are "redefinitions". Fundamentalists claim that Scripture must interpret Scripture. There is no Scriptural foundation to see the anti-Semitic passages as any way than as there respective contexts explain them. The Mishnah, the Tofseta the Babylonian Talmud are texts that I learn to learn more of; but there is no New testament precedent to forsake the New Testament contexts. As it stands Amy's strained exegesis can only be called "kaka-egesis" "bad exegesis".
