Fantastic fish shop tour appreciate it you have some fantastic fish there I love the big fish better than the real small ones
Thank you
How big is that istlanus? He’s a stunner
Thank you so much. He's about 7-8"
Drop the socks in your sandals, lol…
Although ankle biter mosquito bites are very desirable to some, I usually try to avoid them 😃
@@thecichliddojo4245 Sorry my good friend across the Great Atlantic. I noticed it and I thought it was hilarious. It was meant in a friendly way. Btw; great fish tanks, awesome looking fish keept by someone who knows a lot about how to care for fish. Greetings from Copenhagen Denmark. 😃
@kristianf8791 thank you so much. Yea wasn't taken in a bad way. Appreciate the support for the channel 🙏🏿
Have you ever tried breeding Super Red Texas?
No I don't keep hybrids
When are those red terrors going to become available i need a female and you're the onky person i know that has bunch at the bigger size everywhere else theyre like 2".
Would an all male Carpintis tank work?
I believe so if had big enough tank and large enough group
@thecichliddojo4245 thank you Matt I appreciate it. I have a fairly large group right now I am growing out and I'm afraid when they mature they're going to start pairing up and I won't be able to keep them all together. They're in a 210 right now. I have 15 of them currently
Daaaaaaang same with those cubans. Fire 🔥 . All your fish are high quality and beautiful
Thank you so much
Man those Carpintis are looking super high quality.
Thank you
Nice as usual Man you wouldn't happen to know anyone who has five spot jewel cichlids.
Thank you so much. No sorry
Nice 🔥
Thank you
So I am going to be stocking a 250 Would this work 4 JDs 2 carpintus 2 Cubans 1 yellow jacket
Will likely depend on mix of the sexes
Great selection as always! Sent you a message.
🤙

@@thecichliddojo4245 thank you
❤️ 🔥 ❤
What's the plan with grow out festae?
Get some beani and take over for COA
@dbrown75 I try to stay away from the sensitive bloating species
Looking good as always
Thank you
I have one! I can't tell if it's male or female. Started watching you a few weeks ago. Loving your content! Definitely inspired me to up my game on quality of fish.
Thank you so much
That Istlanum male is a beast, love cubans but that male is in over his head lol.
How can we get your stalsbergi to get busy and make some fry? lol
First step would have been to pickup the wild caught group. That would free a bigger tank for me and I'd move my F1s up for breeding. Unfortunately not many in the hobby appreciate the species
Wow great color and that’s without a dark substrate! Looking good
Thanks
You always do it right. Good genetics, but everything else you do and you are on point!
Thank you so much
I love Jack Dempsey's I have four of them right now
Damn. Omg they're beautiful!!!!
Thank you
@@thecichliddojo4245 question for you.. my dempsey is predominantly more red than most I've seen. Is it maybe from a different region or something? I'm just curious as to why that may be. Ty
I think that's a good assumption
@@thecichliddojo4245 I figured if anyone knew, it'd be you. Thanks for your time
I want some fish
Absolutely beautiful fish. Wow
Thank you
My favorite fish on the planet. Ty for sharing this
You're welcome
First off amazing looking fish, just got 3 istlanus from a legit local NJ aquarium store, but depending on how that goes I certainly may wind up getting some from you as well, know this is an old video but I've seen some if you're newer ones and think you still have some, there just isn't that many istlanus videos our there. Totally random question, do you just use sponge and HOBs for filtration with frequent water changes? I've never noticed a sump on any of your tanks. While I want to try out a sump im just not confident enough to go for it quite yet but definitely will at some point. I currently use sponges, cannisters, internal filters and HOB, and admittedly typically only do weekly water changes and usually have nitrates in the 60-80 ppm range, which may be from over stocking, overfeeding, under filtration, or some combo thereof. I've been watching you're channel for a year or so now and always noticed the aquaclear hob and sponge filters and was just curious about your setups. And even at the relatively high nitrates I have, my fish seem very happy and healthy, I have a 10in male, 9ish in female hatiensis pair in a 90 gallon who spawn non stop, so the higher nitrates don't seem to be playing a huge factor, but would ideally like to get them lower and am curious what your thoughts are, thanks!
Thanks for following the channel. For filtration I only use hob and sponge. I choose not to waste a space on bottom of a rack with a sump, in addition more power used with the pumps typically used. I also do sufficient water changes weekly
