Great film

I recall this case so close to home. When we speak of social justice we really need to address ability to love not justice. Learning to love is what the adopted mother tragically lacked. She lived a hell of her own making and hell for many others around her and of course Jerry the most. The system really didn't learn much because it seems even more abusive trafficking children when you listen to survivors.

This Directors aim was to make the noisiest film ever. He succeeded.

So is this the same Irving Allen who went on to make hilariously, god awful disaster flicks in the 70s. This is the year I was born, 58. It's like a different friggin planet.

i hereby give this film a rating of Double D.

Irving Allen and Albert R. Broccoli were the founders, behind Warwick films. Taking advantage of Marshall Plan tax incentives, allowed them to make uses, of which Columbia films would also profit from. They turned out some good movies in their time.

This is NOT the full movie. I saw this on TV in 1992. There was way more testimony and it was heinous the various ways the adoptive momster harmed baby Dennis and terrorized the extended family.

You can read about the real case of Dennis Jurgens on Wiki. Absolutely tragic. Lois Jurgens was a monster. Her cowardly husband should have been charged as well, IMO.

So in the real case, the baby died at age 3 beaten to death by the "adoptive mother" who adopted babies just to abuse them. The abuse included: being burned, his little head submerged under water for minutes, he was forced to eat his own feces, left in cold weather with no clothes on and being beaten on a daily basis. One day she beat him so hard his gut ruptured and he died. His body was emaciated and covered in 50 bruises but yet the coroner said the cause of death "undetermined" and she walked free. She murdered the baby in cold blood and sadistically in 1965. When the bio mom searched for him and then found out he was long dead, she went to the press. It was only after that the police started investigating and reopened the case. I believe the murderer only got convicted in 87 and of a 25 years sentence she only did 8, due to her old age. A travesty! That's no justice. The monster should have been made soap.

Sad alright poor baby Dennis. So with Jerry’s story is this where it came to light that women in prison could keep their children if born in prison? Just wondering as per the judges final saying in court.

I watched a channel yesterday called "faces of the forgotten" the creator did a fantastic story about this poor little baby and showed his grave. There's so much more to this story 😢

There was a series from the 1960s, called Occasional Wife, that had the exact same premise...he was an ad executive who needed to get married to get a promotion, and she needed a place to live so they struck a bargain, except they just pretended to be married.

A horrid excuse as a mom towards Dennis, even having Robert scared of his mom, as a child. Sadly too, had the wretched woman in jail, not forced the real mom to sign the papers, relinquishing Dennis, when she was 17. Dennis may have been alive. I know it was heartbreaking for the real mom to open up the case, finding the truth, for justice of her son. May Dennis RIP. Thankfully, Robert opened up, released the truth against his mom, bringing peace to Robert’s soul too, all those years. 1:35:11

Judge was right wicked woman throw away key, can't believe her husband ignored all the abuse

God this is so sad 😢that evil mother can’t stand watching kids be abused it’s horrible

The father should have gotten jail time too. He knew what she was doing and did nothing to stop it. He's just as guilty of Dennis's death as she is
