Hi All, Welcome to my Channel. I have been a TCA member since 2000. I'm a train operator, collector and basic guy that has been fooling with trains for 60 plus years. I'm sharing my trains and ideas with those who would like to have a look.
American flyer running around the Pencil tree 12/10/24
This is just some trains running around the Christmas tree. The trains are American flyer Pre war O scale trains . The track is Lionel fastrack. It lights every time a train car touches the track. The manger was made by my Grand pap in the 1940's. The figures are probably from then also.

Check this out . Pre War Lionel Tank cars redone. I think I'm going to leave them alone as is, Probably going to replace the tricks with pre war tin plate type. The Americen flyer tanker is cool. Not sure the car number just liked the way this one looked. Also all three cars are "O" scale I didn't mention that in the video. I didn't mention that these cars were produced from what I can tell 1929 thru 1940. This car is a type #6 of the 10 variations and types. Hi All had a great find at the Greenberg toy and train show over the weekend. I found a Pre War Lionel O scale 2955 tank car. The car did have a few issues that didn't bother me at all. First thing I found out was the tank that is on the frame is die cast metal and not rolled sheet metal. I had not idea and never really looked at it , Very cool. The mismatch was that thur it's history someone f...

Tom, will you be with Rick at the York TCA meet in April? If so please come around the corner in row K and see me in the LCCA booth I would like to meet you in person.
Hi John, Thanks for watching the video. Yes we will be there . Rick and my self with the crew will be at the Windham gardens hotel Monday thru Wednesday. Then Thursday thru Saturday in the orange hall. Message when we get close if you think of it to remind me please.
@@lionelmaxltd Ok.....Rick knows me very well....LCCA is right around the corner, so just walk over!!!! I am sure Rick will be over with us during set up and to pick things up from us for the shop a couple of times.
@@johnsefko6481 , Looking forward to meeting you also . Thanks
Tom, I lived fora long time behind the Dairy Queen just down the street and I went to UPJ until I moved out East---so I still consider J'town to be home.
Those are pretty neat!
Thank You, someone took some time to refinish them
How do you wire a signal Bridge to this. With a red and green light ?
I'll try to get a video posted for this . Tuff this time of the year...
You gotta love MOMs 🥰
You got that rite. Your talking about the microwave bowel holder. I thought it was a real neat idea. Thanks for the comment.
Glad you didn't break that engine you were trying to pick up with one hand. It had a price of $1000.00 on it!
😓 😯 😉 Yep me also lol lol
Haven't been in a couple of years. Work on Sundays now. Nice train show
Sorry to hear that you have to work . Maybe next year
It looks like to be a house...
??? IDK looks good now
I just came across this video ... Subscribed!!!
Hope to se ya at the next one
Thanks for sharing Tom! Glenn From AZ enjoying your videos!
Thank you for the comment . Maybe we will see see ya next time
Thanks for sharing. I hope I can find a train show in Central/Northern NJ between now and Christmas.
Hi , We are selling at a Greenberg show in Timonium Md this weekend. Hope you can make it , see you there.
Why did they make different size wheels?
This was just another marketing strategy by Lionel and other manufacturers at the time. Also homes were much larger and the larger trains had more room to run the rails.
Love the tree your mom made.
My Mom was very crafty . She always looked at my trains as they were so very precious. That's how I became a train collector and see them the way she did. Check out the family layout this year and see all the trees and cars that mom made , They both worked on the cars. 😉☺
Great find , the tank car most underrepresented car in model train layouts .
Is that 213 repainted?Almost looks too good.
No I looked al over. I saw tell tale runs in the paint on the frame. Also looked at all the tabs for scratches and bend marks and saw none at all. Look at the break wheel stands, surface rust. The top of the tank has very small and lite spots of discoloring. The wheels and axles have the same. BUT IT DOSE LOOK VERY NICE............ never found one like this at a very nice price.... Thanks for looking
How can I find out about the next show in Johnstown? Thanks
HI Great question. The show has been in the past the first Sunday in December. I will try to have more notice next year. Thanks for asking
@ thanks
I wish we would have a spring show too 😀

Just old enough to remember Dad taking me downtown to Bill & Walt’s on Smithfield. When you’re six years old, that builds a love of hobbies for a lifetime. Glad to see you’re carrying on the tradition! 🤟
Your a lucky guy. Stop by and trade some stories with the new owner . Thanks for the short story. Could you tell us more form one of your stops in the Pittsburgh shop?
If they would of put it on Facebook when it was coming
Hey Good idea. I will try that next show. There are a few in the next two months. Thanks
Yo look at this rack you went right by it couldn’t see a damn thing!
I'll try and get it next time...... January show....
I haven't been there yet, but I loved their store in White Oak. Is Bob still there? He was who I interacted with the most. Bought a real nice 682 Turbine from him.
Definitely have to check this place out. Thanks for the show.

Never been to Pittsburgh for the train show. Been to the MD one and Virginia one.
That's too bad , try and make on and stop and say hello.
I could tell you the name of the tool with which you hold the screws and place them under the truck
I was given the tool from my friend Rick Neely from Neely's train shop. I'm Not really sure the name , I did find the tool on the web. The name was called....... 94K0704 - Screw & Nut Grabber Using the Screw & Nut Grabber to pick up a bolt 94K0704 - Screw & Nut Grabber Using the Screw & Nut Grabber to hold a screw by the head 94K0704 - Screw & Nut Grabber 94K0704 - Screw & Nut Grabber 94K0704 - Screw & Nut Grabber Screw & Nut Grabber The company name is Lee Valley . Hope this helps . Please do let me know , Thanks Tom
@ my big dude, thanks a lot !!!
The 2332 was made between 1948 and 50. The peeling is normal for the Madison cars. Since they were made of Bakelite, the paint didn’t always get good adhesion.
So when you put through the new wire of the new cord, does it matter which side go top or bottom? If so how can i tell?
Crap review video. Why did you not go the downstairs, where all of the rest of the trains are displayed?
I live about 4 miles from there. I use to go to Bill &Walts when they were in White Oak (both locations) . Now it's so much closer. Great place.
I to like the new location much better also
Thank you Tom for teaching us! Your knowledge is very appreciated. (Frank)
@@TwistedMacGyversTrains glad you liked the video. Thanks
I wany to.see HO not o!
They have both O and HO scale
Same here.
@@lionelmaxltd Good! I had 'N' scale back in '71 but it didn't have the variety 'HO' scale had, I was going to try 'O' gauge but it was too ''toy like'' and not as realistic as 'HO' which won me over been with that scale ever since.
@@michaelquinones-lx6ks HI Michael, What ever you like. I like them all running in my world. Keep them running....

There is a whole new vibe
The reason why the #2955 is heavier than most is because it’s a semi-scale freight car; just short of it’s big brother the #715 scale freight car. Sweet pick up, and thanks for putting the correct trucks back on that thing - it deserved it!
Thank you It's really cool. I think the hand rails and the "cotter pin" holders are the best
Nice video Tom.
Thank You
It is a shame that you did not pan more slowely. That would enable a viewer to see more of what was there.

Hello Tom, New to Subscribing to your video's. Thanks for your work in providing them. Keep up the great Work ! One question if I may, At 13:13 of your video you show a table with Pittsburgh Steelers Trains and I was wondering if you know and or can find out for me who the gentleman is that was selling them so I may contact him about his items he has for sale? I would VER MUCH appreciate it. I was unable to get down to the show, but saw it on your video clip here. Thanks again for your time.

9:05 Cotter pins used by Gilbert on boilers to secure handrails too.
You are correct. I had a brain fart.... Cotter pins used to hold the hand rail. Also early standard trucks were held with the same.... Thanks
