Damn this is so well done😂
Karl’s greatest scene
Maddson is everything Logan was. He’s brunt he’s a bull he wants something and he takes it or crushed it if he feels like it. The siblings can pretend all they want that they are worthy of Logan but I don’t think they understand what kind of people they would fully become. While Roman saying maddson will get bored is the edge that basically guarantees that he ain’t going anywhere now that the Roman has gone at him like this because it’s exactly what Logan would do. Logan would do the dance if he needed to kind of like when he was working with that other rich news family but at the end of the day he drew a line and if I remember told the head of that family to shut up and take the fucking money ahhaha.
I love watching them all squabble like adult children lol
Why did she do that with her arms 😂
Greg is that guy from work that has frendly face but is in fact huge asshole
Making a speech like this was what his death in the following episode so much more surprising, like he’d been revitalised and was about to come back like a bullet train.
The Roy kids were so out of their depth with this guy
0:43 He sounds like Elon Musk today with UK
I watch these clips endlessly because the power of performance comes from when there're only two people speaking at any given moment, but their words move worlds for everyone in earshot. So as an actor, you need to really understand the character and the story deeply to have the correct and nuanced body language when you don't have lines, such as Shiv here, and all siblings in the S2 Pierce showdown scene. Writers can't possibly write all these out in the script (and they don't, I've seen it), so it's down to you the actor.
Great move by Hugo, cut yourself in a pool with a shark.
"Can I frame the question for you?"
Great casting in this show. I hated to see it end.
Logan wouldn’t have even come to this point. He wouldn’t have let mattson drag him like this while he has home field advantage.
Shiv is the most evil character in the show
l literally thought Roman was gonna throw him off the cliff when he smiled and said "Did i?"
4:44 The hate is stronnng!
He was absolutely right in everything he said!
Rich people born with money always think they are smarter than they are.
Nevertheless 🫲😀🫱
I know its a really toxic relationship and that she treated Tom badly but her saying “I broke his heart, he broke mine” about Tom broke my heart too, for both of them. That took a level of self awareness that she rarely exhibits. There was definitely guilt there too.
This episode and Ken in the car wreck. Maybe the most realistic depiction of tragedies. They NEVER happen when you see them coming. The Sopranos’ notable car wreck is the other best example.
The confusion is so real, I had the same experience with my older brothers when my father passed away. This is a very visceral and heartbreaking moment.
I really liked this era of Kendall. He's been through the power plays and mind games, he's been burned and scared shitless and tried to get out, but finally resigned himself to this business and is usually the first person in the room to be genuine and cut through bullshit to make things happen
You have to try really hard to get someone like Roman, who only ever tiptoes and jokes around real emotion, to genuinely blow up on you without any pretense. I knew by how furious this little insult against his dad made him that he was going to break down hard later when the grief actually hit him. He really loved Logan probably more than anyone despite the abuse
I love how this whole show builds up the idea that Connor isn't TRULY a full sibling to the other 3 Roys ( " I'm the ELDEST BOY!!! " ), with him always being on the outside and never being involved in the sibling bonding in the finales then in the final season you realise that in some ways Connor was closer to Logan ( the dinner recording from the finale ) and that he also had a more mature outlook on life what with him not being desperate for their father's love/approval ( which was almost impossible to gain anyway )
team for crossed out here
That “what happened” was heart wrenching.
Greg Hirsch ory
Tom must be on the list 🤣
Tom must be on the list 🤣
this and Karl leaving Frank on stage at the shareholder's meeting are the greatest scenes of the series hands down
Her "what?" at 0:58 is absolutely 100% perfect delivery. Brings me to tears instantly.
2:42-2:47 is painful It's like Kendall is patronizing himself
Shiv is the absolute worst!!
It's ironic how Roman convinced his siblings to pick Mecken as President but then, Mecken ignoring him altogether on this scene.
In any other show mattson would be oblivious to the shenanigans of the protagonist but within a minute he confronted them about trying to tank the deal and it’s so embarrassing. Imagine being that incompetent that you don’t realize people see right through your very simple tricks.
"I'm not involved. I'm nowhere near this. I know nothing" - Logan Roy after signing Cruise payoffs
I felt so fucking bad for her in this scene. Incredible acting from J. Smith-Cameron.
These scenes are all so much funnier when rewatching a year later. Especially Kendall blatantly trying to hide his excitement and desperation. Particularly at 2:07.
Marcia never did catch up with Greg 😂
2:21 Tom understands the joke as much as we do from the context clues "incest" and "Hapsburg" and genuinely agrees. Another unnoticed Tom W that gradually stacked up throughout the series.
TIME FOR SAUNA!
Mattison is actually right about things
no lol, he didn't understand what Waystar was all about
The scary thing is Roman is probably right about Mattson intentionally drags the deal out for months, partly to see if Logan's gonna expire soon. Dude's a bit psychotic like Logan, so I wouldn't rule him out of that inhuman tactic, especially when he's very explicit about waiting for Logan to die, so it'd be a clearer coast for him. And now he wants to close the deal immediately after he died. Mf definitely timed that.
Such a good show, the tension is so palpable
This is far and away the most realistic portrayal of the reaction to a death like this that I have ever seen
could someone explain why Roman "'f*cked himself" here? I don't understand what he said there that Lukas reacted to
"Parts shop", "Tribute band", "already rich". "ok Popeye". The writing on this show was so staggeringly incredible. They served up these perfectly crafted lines to such perfectly well suited actors and it worked so damned well.
For a guy with billions of dollars, Logan should have traveled everywhere with a doc.
he’s too narcissistic and born in a different era for that…
