Canal Street Cutlery D'Holder verses Schrade D'holder Knife
มุมมอง 2634 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey Guys , I have a Canal Street Cutlery D'Holder and a Schrade D'Holder , I thought I would compare the two . When Schrade closed the doors in 2004 , The president of Schrade with one of his associates along with 6 knife makers all from Schrade opened Canal Street Cutlery in 2005 , so these two knifes were probably made by the same Knifemakers .Check out D'Alton Holder fan club on Facebook

One of the Best knife makers in the World!
I totally agree
check out D'Alton Holder fan club on Facebook
I just now found out that he had passed less than two years ago! He hardened one of my blades in 2013 and that was less than 10 years before he passed. I am in Boise Idaho and there's a shop downtown had one or two of his, I got one before I lost chance of r er having one of his....to remember him by. I know he put blood, sweat and tears and most of all, part of the hours of his life into it so it's more a piece of him than anything else. "My Knife" and I'd like to learn more
This one is a keeper for sure , I started a D'Alton Holder fan club on Facebook , check it out
I’m kind of biased. He’s was my father-in-law but we were Big Time Friends….

Boa tarde, você conhece o rifle 22 Valmet de ferrolho?
Hi Joe, lovely guitar. Is it for sale by chance?
I already sold it , I swore I never would , but I needed to pay the house off for retirement . The guy who bought it had been looking for one like it since 1997 , he said this was the first one he ever seen that didn't need any work . He got his dream guitar and I got out of debut
I love these videos--where you show us a knife or tool or something like that. Reminds me of me spending time with my old man back when I was young.
Hey brother , glad you like them
Joe - can you measure the seat? From front to back. That saddle is in amazing shape for its age. Where are you located? I am definitely interested
I sent you a short video on Facebook , maybe we should meet up in Charlotte NC ?
Yeah I'd go with Canal Street fits my personality
I would highly recommend buying one if you can find one . This one has jigged bone handle with amber dye , They also made a stage handle , the stage handle was made exclusively for AG Russell .
Too bad Canal Street closed, bought my daughter a ribbon candy lockback , ag Russel reported that the scales were supposed to be virtually indestructible. Unfortunately they broke and started coming apart after CS closed so I didn’t burden Russel with a refund. I know that A G would have refunded money but he was a good man and we just kept knife. I like both those knives you have and have noticed that stag itself is guite heavy.
sorry about your bad luck with Canal Street Cutlery @@randyblackburn9765
I pulled the bolt apart the other day and Stretched firing spring. On my one.
That is not a work saddle !
so tell me what it is , I'm selling a few saddles for my 88 year old uncle , I'm not a saddle salesman , SO, what is it ??
@@carolinabooboo it’s a pleasure saddle or a trail saddle !@ In my 60 years a horse back I’ve never seen a horn like that , you couldn’t dally a rope on that if you had to ! It also does not have a rope strap to keep your rope on the saddle . It has no saddle strings to keep your saddle bags tied on if your out in the pasture doctoring cattle you have to have some place to carry your supplies .
Thank you, now I know @@williamjenkinsiii70

That's a beauty! I love the black body/ white pickguard. Thank you for the video Joe, have a nice day.
I'm glad you liked it , I wound up selling it to a guy who had been looking for that model since 1997
@@carolinabooboo That's great that you were able help someone out.
Belíssimo rifle meu amigo show de bola 😮👍👍👍👍👍

Use 0000 steel wool to clean that walnut stock! Linseed oil or spray varnish followed with car wax.
Same day I came across your video, I had seen an episode of 'Norm's Rare Guitars ', showing a'32 L OO. Apparently the white pickguard tells you it is one of the early ones.I read 1931 was the first year of production. After that they typically had the 'Firestripe' pickguard. I'd bet your little beauty there has 'The sound'. Congratulations.
this one was also the first limited run of a 12 fret , the first add that come out said 14 fret only
@@carolinabooboo I would predict the 12 Fret version means you are extra lucky then. It has to translate into that extra bit of tonal response for Fingerpicking. Clearly you are aware of this significance, and Clearly I am envious. Until I luck into something like yours, I take solace in my 1933 Kalamazoo KG 11
@@toddheimbuch5429 yep, I wound up selling it to a guy who has been looking for that guitar since 1997 , every time he found one , it needed to much work . I think it has a great new home . I have a Martin OM-21 that I really really love , plus I needed to pay my house off
i played two different hondo acoustics just recently and was surprised at the low action and nice sound. i never heard of hondo guitars before. i do not own one, but for the price, you cannot beat that deal.
Hello, I just recently purchased a 41-P that didn't have a bolt. While waiting for the parts to not be out of stock, I figured I would try and make my own. Is there any chance you can show the bolt disassembled with multiple views per part? Thank you so much if you can!
Hows it lasted over the years?
What was the nut width prior to 1939? THX
1 3/4
I did the same type of rifle up.The stock needed paint stripper. The original finish seemed to have some sort of varnish. After paint stripper came up looking good.Surface rust on Barrel so glass beaded it with blaster.Reblued.I also put a scope on it.Shoots fine.
I bet it looks good
@@carolinabooboo You probably need to paint strip the stock on your Rifle.
The 510 targetmaster was an improvement over the 41 due to the trigger being reworked. All these Remington 22s were very capable in the right hands.
I'm loving this one , it was gifted to me by a dear friend, which makes it special , but it's really fun to shoot
@carolinabooboo I had my childhood 514 stolen so I bought a lot of parts online and made one or two. Now I buy up any I can find. The hard part is finding a good bolt.
@@mcgavin098 I'll have to keep an eye out for parts
Every time I walk into a guitar store, all I do is look for the headstock and if I don’t see a seagull I’m out. They are the best acoustics in my opinion.
No doubt, great guitars
I love my 41. Spent a year gathering parts up from various places to put it together. Probably spent way too much on it but I don't really care. Awesome rifle. Don't make them like that anymore.
I’m loving this one , I shot it yesterday. A good friend gave it to me, I was blown away by his generosity
@@carolinabooboo mine doesn't seem to miss either. I'm almost scared to shoot it on paper but, it's a tackdriver in the field. The 29 inch barrel really helps to lower extreme spread on rimfire ammo and makes it quiet to boot.
@@codyg7789 I bought some CCI 22 Quite SimiAuto , they are really quiet , but the 22 shorts are just a bit quieter . I bought the Simi Auto because there's not a minimum barrel length for the ammo
Noce rifle. I have that same rifle in the Winchester model. It is a tack driver.
Tack Driver ? I’ll have to check them out
@@carolinabooboo model 67 I think. It is at my cabin so I can not confirm the model number.
My first .22 I was gifted by a kind old man in Elkton,MD. gas station owner named Mike in 1967. A 341 Remington tubefed repeater. When I grew up, restored it with a nice piece of Bishop walnut. I have owned at least a hundred rimfires , but that first one is still in the safe.
The first is always special, I kept my first pocked knife , My Uncle gave it to me . When he was dying with cancer , I took it and showed it to him, it was a special moment
Thanks for the information!
you bet , hope it helps
I put together a 41 this year. Bought the barrel and action from one guy and got the stock, hardware, from ebay. I've been wondering how to dress up the wood. Those a well-made rifles and mine is incredibly accurate CCI standard velocity, CB shorts and mini mags. It's quiet too with that long barrel. Thanks for the video! Will go back for part 1 now.
I'm really pleased with the way mine turned out , I think because it's a walnut stock , it darkened up the way it did , keep me posted on your progress
I'm going to get some mineral spirits and boiled linseed oil this week. My stock is fairly dark as well and looks good except for the 80 years or so of grime.
@@codyg7789 be careful with the rags after you use the linseed oil , it's highly combustible , you can burn your house down if your not careful
@@carolinabooboo I wonder if I can post a picture of my 41 in the comments ... it's getting prettier by the day. It's also serving in some marksmanship lesson for a 14-year-old kid down the road from me. He actually enjoys shooting it as much, or more, than my decked-out 10/22 (he's a bit too rambunctious yet to handle my 39a or the 1891 yet). There may be hope for the future yet.
I shot an old Target Master with my Papaw just the other day. I actually used it to carve a pumpkin.
With the shots ??
@@carolinabooboo Yea, lol
I got one... my daddy’s old one.
I think I’m going to love it
I have a Samick SK-5 by S. Yairi. I bought it in early 1990. I was looking for my first 'good' guitar but didn't really know much about the various brands and models. At some point I picked up the Samick and really liked it so I bought it. It wasn't til years later I found out Samick was the largest guitar maker in the world - mostly low to medium priced instruments and mostly with other company names on them. I have several guitars now, plus one of just about every other stringed instrument. But the Samick is the one always in the guitar stand with pic, tuner and capo - and not just because it didn't come with a case. It isn't my best instrument but it is my favorite. The one I play the most.
I think the S Yairi by Samick is a great guitar , you're luck to have one , really rare guitars
From the Godin family!!...
Nice beginner
Just scored one of these in high gloss finish with original case in mint condition from a pawn shop for $180 out the door. Can’t wait to try it out!
yea ? that's a deal, a real deal , how's it working for you ?
Fantastic job
Thanks
Nice !
Thanks
Could you please make another video comparing the sound of that one to your Martin?
Hey Ryan, I sold the Seagull a while ago, probably sold the Martin as well , not sure which Martin video you watched . I have bought and sold a lot of guitars , I have a Martin OM21 that I have had quite a while , I think it's pretty close to perfect , I love the tone and it plays really nice, The second guitar I have that's a keeper is a 712 Taylor , it would be a hard call to make on which one sounds and plays the best , but definitely my two favorites of all I have ever played .
S6 guitars sound great and are very durable.
they are hard to beat
Got this guitar about a year ago. '99 with a tiger stripe pickguard . Cedar top with alot of character (pick slash)! One of my favorite sounding parlor guitars. The A&L blue Ami is the same. Honorable mention is the Takamine G 406 vb and the Alvarez AP66SHB. Thanks for demo!
I have had a Ami , but not the Takamine or Alvarez, I'll keep my eyes open for those two , thanks
I have this same guitar sir. I bought it brand new about 13 years ago, and I still play it everyday.
really great guitars
Love this guitar. Is it for sale?
not at the moment , I'm planing on keeping it a while, I'm going to let Gruhn Guitars in Nashville do a proper set up , really loving it
Too bad. Looking for one of these for a long time…
