I was almost thinking "that was fast" until I saw it wasn't in Freedom units. I wish there was a way to switch the drive-mode to get rid of that damn fake shifting. If you're going to do CVT, then don't cripple the main benefit of the damn thing. Make it an option to fake-shift, or put up w/ the drone to keep things in the optimum torque band.

about 7.6 seconds 0-60 mph not bad for a full sized sedan with a 4 speed trans and 192 horsepower. The 2004-05 toyota se v6 can hit 0-60 mph in about 6.8 to 7 seconds because of the stronger 3.3 v6 engines instead of the 3.0 v6.

This really wasn’t a bad engine at all, especially for the time period. Like a lot of competitors sedans the 4 speed autos of the time tended to numb the acceleration a good bit. A 5 speed Solara with this same engine can be a blast to drive though and will hang right there with all the 3.0/5 speed Maximas, Accords, etc. of the time

It may be a slow and "old" car for 2023 but it will outlast any quality-award winning GM product in the next 7 years

I’ve driven the 5 speed manual mirage and it’s not bad, but the CVT ones are so slowwwww it’s almost comical and I laugh when I have to drive them for work lol

Pretty cool powertrain, these small turbo engines are not that bad if maintenance is done correctly and on time. 5k or 6 month for the oil and 30k for the cvt and it will last just fine. I do like the fake shifts in the mid rpms but simulated shifts when flat out is really annoying imo.

My 74hp Mitsubishi Mirage would give this car a run for its money

i cant stand cvts doing that its so irritating to hear for some reason. love how the 3 cylinder almost gives a v6 sound
