Using active tilt correction on the optoCONTROL ODC2700
The optoCONTROL ODC2700 from Micro-Epsilon is an LED optical micrometer for measuring diameters, edges, gaps and segments in a wide range of applications but especially where material is being extruded or drawn through a tool such as in wire, plastic or rubber production. A new function of the ODC2700 is its ability to auto-correct the measurement result regardless of the tilt of the target within the sensors beam path. Allowing for stable measurements on vibrating or moving targets. In this video we take it to the extreme with a target being tilted +/- 20 degrees in the beam path using a cobot.

      Thank you. The sensors are designed for industrial applications and thus the technology is probably not appropriate for personal use.

    Hello, Nice setup ! By what mechanism do you make the horizontal linear movement?

      We use a linear slide with encoder for pulsing the sensor to capture the data. The scanCONTROL is able to accept encoder pulses or can simply be run in continuous mode with a known feed speed to create these images.

    Dear Sir, I'm using the TIM 400 thermoIMAGER but i can't change the focus of the camera even though i configure the distance bar as you show in the video but the image doesn't change.

      Hi, for the TIM 400, the camera has a focus adjustment directly on the lens. You can rotate the front section of the lens to adjust the focus.The distance bar is applicable to the TIM 8, TIM 40 and TIM 41 cameras only which have no manual focus I hope that helps.
