    I always subscribed to the fact that the tow vehicle is the most important part of towing. I have a GMC 2500hd with a diesel powertrain, same size as a 1500 but heavier. I tow an off road trailer with a max weight of 7,500 lbs, plus I have twin alternators. My son had a trailer which he towed with his 1/2 ton Chevy which was within the towing range, once he tried my truck on his trailer he realized how unsafe his 1/2 ton was when towing. He has since upgraded to a 3500 and he loves it.

    • @rollinwithrver
      @rollinwithrver วันที่ผ่านมา

      That’s a great example of how the right tow vehicle can make all the difference! It’s not just about being within the towing range, it’s about stability, braking power, and overall safety. Your experience really highlights the importance of matching the tow vehicle to the trailer, especially for long or challenging trips. A 2500 or 3500 definitely provides that added confidence and control on the road. Glad to hear your son upgraded and is enjoying a much safer towing experience now!

    This commentator or AI voice is the biggest crock and bull story I ever heard. Once again the wackos from California know how to squeeze people who enjoy life. This idiot says you may have to find an RV at 8000lbs. Lots of luck. They don’t exist. Hey, I got a great idea. Why don’t we eliminate all air traffic over these six states. I can imagine the carbon emissions would go through the roof. How come they don’t tell you where the energy is coming from when charging your vehicle? It’s magic, like the gas out of your ass. Pathetic.

    EXCELLENT video. We had a close call pulling our 25' fifthwheel. We ALWAYS look way ahead at all roads that T into the road we are on. We had a lady pull out infront of us going slow while we were doing 50mph. Looking ahead sure saved a catastrophic accident. It helps that we always have a travel prayer before we hit the road. Oh, love that comment about being safe when CHANGING LANES. I saw that you used "CHANGING LANES" in that particular clip as well as alot of spots in this video.

      Thank you so much for sharing your story! It’s amazing how staying alert and looking ahead can truly make all the difference, your quick reaction definitely helped avoid a disaster. A travel prayer is such a thoughtful tradition; it really adds a layer of calm and mindfulness before hitting the road. I'm glad you noticed the emphasis on 'changing lanes', it’s such a key safety element, especially with larger setups like a fifth wheel. Do you have any other safety tips or habits you follow on the road? I'd love to hear them and share ideas!

      @@rollinwithrver Springfield has one KOA I believe on the north side of the city out on I-44 and then there's more outside the city on the south side towards Ozark & Nixa . Beyond Ozark and Nixa you'r heading for Branson and thats where you find everything . The south side is where it's all at . You might also check some of the mobile home parks . I think there's one right by the Walmart Super Center on South Glenstone that might ? allow overnight R.V.'s but I'm not sure .

    actually, motorhomes are ripe to be electric vehicles, since most RV parks have 30 or 50 amp plug ins already. most motorhome travlers drive 350 miles or less in a day, so if they can reach that limit, they should be good.

    This reminds me of some of the training films in my FD training, very graphic and very gory. One thing I disagree on is tire inflation. When towing I go closer to the max tire pressure on the sidewall vs the truck tire pressure on the door post. AFA trailer tire pressure, I go close to the max on the trailer tire sidewall even on an ultralight trailer. Nothing worse than under inflated tires. Always do your walk around and use a guide backing up. If your not sure, double or triple check and get out and look when backing up. Many of these videos of RV accidents looked like driver error, severe oversteer. I go easy does it when towing, never pedal to the metal. And even if I'm on cruise, I knock it off, slow down and let the trucks pass. You're never going to beat them in the long run. They're on a schedule and I'm not as much. and what does another 5 or 10 mph pedal to the metal get you? Maybe 5 or 10 minutes to your next stop. Not worth it. Easy does it and not speeding is much less wear and tear on you truck, trailer, RV as well. Otherwise good video.

    • @rollinwithrver
      @rollinwithrver 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I appreciate your detailed comment! It’s crucial to prioritize safety and proper tire inflation when towing. Your experience adds a lot of value to the discussion!

    These people are insane. When you own a class A for the most part you drive it to a place and park. generally for awhile. On the hole I'll bet some smart person could figure out that probably burn less then the average person going to work.

    • @rollinwithrver
      @rollinwithrver 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You make a valid point! Class A motorhomes are often parked for extended periods and likely use less fuel overall compared to daily commuters. The new regulations seem to focus on emissions rather than actual usage patterns, which might not fully reflect the environmental impact of motorhomes. What do you think could be a fairer approach to address this issue?

    The sad thing about this it don't have to happen. It happens simply because of greed. Because the big developers offer those people land a lot of money they can't refuse and because of the greed I'm taking that money. They don't turn them down because it's self-interest. Also a lot of self-interest. If these are v, people come together, cause they together they have collectively. They have make a lot of money. They can buy this land and counter the developers. They can counter the developers and have land for RV people and Van dwellers. But again, people in America don't have the will to come together. America is very devicive so I can understand why it wont-work in a mere caredy way.

    • @rollinwithrver

    Like I said, before America's general did not care about their own people, because regular residents will complain about all the people who park in their vehicles and they don't care that they're homeless. They complainn complain they're worried about themselves and they're all about probably both house prices. That's what I worry about. But America is a capitalistic country, it's all about money and greed. So of course, Americans drop take care of each other. Don't care about each other. And that's why in America especially it's getting out of control. How come this is not going on? In other countries, mainly, Australia and Canada. Yes, but most other European countries we don't have that problem. Only in America this happens because of greed. And like I said, before America do not take care of their own people, but there's gonna be a new doning in the future. Americans are gonna pay for that, not caring for their people soon enough.

    • @rollinwithrver

    The developers are buying up the land to build condominiums and factories and houses. For the people that can afford them. What I always recommend. So many of the people come together and buy the land themselves. And then do whatt the gypsies do in England this is what the gypsies do in England they buy land and then all the gypsy friends who will come and park on there for a few more feet and it works out for everybody, Americans don't think this way. That's just like the trailer parks which I disappear as well. It's a little arguing with the rich by the land of them and do it yourself. But if people come together, it can't be done, it can't be done. It's just Americans don't have the will to do it yet.

    I think the sad thing about America is. American general does not take care of their own people. They spend billions of dollars in other countries and we'll go to war to try and control the world, but yet they don't help their own people that don't make sense. America is a big vast country. There is tons and tons of land out there. They can use and people compak of hobbies. But there's so much rules and relative regulations. For they can't pop here. You can't pop-up there. So people gonna find and force themselves apart somewhere because people do have to sleep somewhere at night. And we are the freest country in the world not likely we're not free.

      You bring up a lot of important points about priorities and regulations in America. It’s true that the balance between freedom and rules can feel frustrating, especially when it comes to something as basic as having a safe place to sleep. What do you think could be done to address this and create better solutions for people in need?

    Decide to know about RV living all people who live. Alternatively, the few who make a mess, they spoil everybody else. I did a video about the soldier back. All you got to do is clean up after yourself. These people will not clean up after themselves. And by doing that, they make it bad and worse with everybody else.

    • @rollinwithrver
      @rollinwithrver 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's so true, it's unfortunate that a few irresponsible people can ruin things for everyone else. Taking care of our surroundings and being respectful is key to keeping alternative living options viable.

    Dave, by the watch out, though, because Trump says he's gonna change all this. He's gonna make this illegally and force people off. I don't know how he's gonna do that. Trump is stupid the way he speaks is nonsense. But we'll see what happens because it's gonna affect. Eventually bad life people as well. But what do you think is there's plenty of land where they can put them? There's plenty of land they can do the actors. If there's no place to park, there's no land there's tons and tons of land out here.

    • @rollinwithrver
      @rollinwithrver 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s definitely a complex issue, and policies like that could have a huge impact on van life and alternative living communities. You’re right, there’s plenty of land out there, and finding a way to use it to provide designated spaces could help. The challenge is balancing regulations, resources, and people's needs.

    It's easy to tell the homeless of people from the people who chose it the ones who chose it. They keep moving the homeless ones. Stay in one place for years and years or months because they called for to go anywhere and plus most of these are broken down and don't work anyway, so you can tell the occasional order. People do alternative living VS the ones who are homeless who live in caravans.

    This is what happens when things get popular and when it becomes popular, it comes saturated as it concentrated the government in the system takes notice. And that's when the new rules pop in years ago, when only a few people did it. It was great, even when life is like that, my life is becoming bigger and bigger as well. It's not saturated yet like the RV people but. I would say if things continue where people can't afford to live properly because the West is declining. Then, more and more people are gonna leave out of their vans and choose it as a cheap way to live, then that will become saturated as well and then more laws will come.

    • @rollinwithrver
      @rollinwithrver 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      When a lifestyle grows in popularity, it often attracts attention and eventually regulations. It’s a cycle we’ve seen with RV living, and it could happen with van life too as more people turn to it out of necessity. Do you think there’s a way to balance growth in these communities while still preserving the freedoms they offer?

    • @skapunkoialternativeliving6522
      @skapunkoialternativeliving6522 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @rollinwithrver Fax absolutely my friend absolutely fax. You hit it on the hammer perfectly. I couldn't say better myself. It's true, and I think that's Ellie lifestyle or anything that is cool. Or that is nice that people love are they attracted to a lot of people? And it will be constructed saturated, then it's gonna attract a lot of attention and if we attract attention, guess what? The system and the government is going to see where they can jump on the bandwagon and profit for me. It's like drugs. They know they could stop the drug market. Illegal people smoking weed so I made it. They legalized it so they can profit from it. Not the drug dealers, but it's kind of backfiring even though they're making money from it, they're, the drug. Dealers are still selling their weed. And the weed illegally is so cheaper than buying it. Legally, because if you buy a weed, legally, you're paying taxes on it, which is the point of the government doing it? Taking away the profit from the drug dealers. But it's not working cause the drug. Dealer still doing it. It's kind of like that.

    What these people do in America with these visas no different than gypsies in England with caravans. They've been doing it for years and years refused to buy houses or pay rent. So what a keep gypsies come together. They buy land and all their friends come pack their caravans all day. That's what these people should do come together by land and do it themselves, and this will solve that problem.

    The homeless have FORCED RV Park operators to rent by the month? That's just silly. An RV park owner may decide it works better for him to fill up with permanent tenants, basically convert to a trailer park. Why is that a problem? Someone living in an RV in a permanent spot is not homeless! On city streets, that's different. I've read that cities can't tow them all away because they have no place to put them. As dilapidated as they look, you wonder how they got there! They don't look like they could be driven away. And the guy's right. There's going to be more homelessness. Meaning more RVs.

    • @rollinwithrver
      @rollinwithrver 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You make some valid points. RV park owners have the right to make decisions that work for their business, and someone with a permanent spot in an RV isn't technically homeless. The situation on city streets is definitely more complex, especially with the lack of resources to address it. As homelessness increases, finding sustainable solutions for both RV dwellers and cities will be even more important. What do you think could help balance these challenges?

    • @BlazingLaser
      @BlazingLaser 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have no ideas, really. For a long time I thought cities could just designate a big vacant lot on the edge of town as a 'Hooverville' where people could pitch a tent or live in a car. (They had these in the 30s). But then San Francisco tried that. In a parking lot in the MIDDLE OF DOWNTOWN, they allowed a certain number of people to pitch tents. They brought in one of those luxury rest-room trailers, a dumpster, and 24-hr security. It cost the city $225 per night per tent! They could have put them up in a luxury hotel for that! I think the whole exercise was deliberately designed to fail. San Mateo County, just south of San Francisco, one of the richest and most expensive in the country, decided to put homeless people in jail. Of course they quickly found there wasn't nearly enough room in their jails. I think the problem is how we run our economy, based on money, not people. The whole direction of the economy seems based on concentrating wealth, so MILLIONS of people are not really able to participate. The 'hard-core unemployed' increase year by year. It's a problem no other rich country has. And the problem is certainly not going to improve under Trump.

      It can definitely feel that way sometimes. Addressing these issues often seems to target symptoms rather than root causes, which only makes it harder for those already struggling. What do you think would be a fair solution to support those in need without adding more challenges?

    It's easy to see how this happens Republicans have voted against putting money into affordable apartments for a very long time but when Bush Junior was President he gave away $800 billion dollars in tax cuts to the rich and then cause the financial depression then Trump came along and gave one trillion dollars to the rich while this was happening the wealthy I have so much extra money due to not having to pay taxes they started in also investing in single family homes all over the country buying lots of them closing prices to go up treating it as investments in the stock market as opposed to understanding people's lives are at stake Biden try to put a bill to get Millionaires and billionaires out of the single housing market Investments every Republican voted it down thereby giving the green lights for investors to buy up more property knowing that Republicans will back them up 100% people in red states have to stop screwing the rest of the country and then you start crying about all the homelessness around you when you were part of causing the problem

    Rving and homlessness share nothing in common, it just so happens to be an rv, dont get the blending the two together its a traveling home for business based people, retirees, remote workers, and the homless.. if its falling apart thats a sign of either a hunting rig, or homless occupant. Its also not nessary to buy a new one every 10 years.... If its 30-50 years old well kept dont open send a video shot based on aome guy sitting outside in front of an rv .... There is not a lack of spots but there is a lack of maintenance.

    Rvs in Califuckya account for only 2% of all vehicles on the road. Why CARB waisting time on this?

    • @rollinwithrver
      @rollinwithrver 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      CARB targets RVs because, despite being only 2% of vehicles, their larger engines contribute disproportionately to emissions. It’s part of their broader effort to reduce overall air pollution.

    The competition for RV parks and campgrounds comes almost solely from other recreational travelers. RV parks may be filled with full timers, if the park management is willing to accept older RVs. Most of these parks are located in areas that are not considered to be recreation destinations. Most RV parks near popular destinations DO NOT allow run down or unsightly rigs. Some of this story is factual, but some of what has been presented here is simply disinformation.

      @ absolutely… RV parks on Long Island, in the New Orleans French Quarter and Key West, all well north of $120 a night OR…. “RV parks” in much much less desirable locales that have essentially taken the place of mobile home parks, that will accept just about anyone that pays!
