CII, based at The University of Texas at Austin, is a consortium of more than 140 leading owners, contractors, and supplier firms from both the public and private arenas. These organizations have joined together to enhance the business effectiveness and sustainability of the capital facility life cycle through CII research, related initiatives, and industry alliances. A learning organization with a wealth of knowledge and information, CII is unique in the engineering and construction industry.
Back to the Future of Next Gen Delivery: The Heathrow T-5 Experience
Next Gen project delivery draws upon many years of learning and implementation of effective methodologies and practices (such as Advanced Work Packaging, Lean Construction, Project Production Management, and IPD) in an effort to better understand and holistically improve the project delivery experience.
This has evolved around the challenging and updating of several aspects of “conventional wisdom” to equip future leaders and their high-performance teams with new perspectives and processes to meet ever-increasing industry challenges and project delivery complexity. As it turns out, many of the key ideas emerging as Next Gen were developed and implemented on major projects, including Heathrow Terminal 5 and large micro-electronics projects, almost 25 years ago.
This has evolved around the challenging and updating of several aspects of “conventional wisdom” to equip future leaders and their high-performance teams with new perspectives and processes to meet ever-increasing industry challenges and project delivery complexity. Brilliant Slides now incorporating the System Work Packaging so essential for manufacturing plant and more complex building and public infrastructure projects.
This is an exceptionally well research and well prepared presentation on AWP at the executional and delivery phase. I learned a great deal more than the usual AWP steps involving on EWP, CWP, IWP and no more. The graphics on the interrelation between IWP Constraints and SWP for CSU made it so easy to visualise and understand how they work and sequence amongst themselves.
I have a quick question. so what is the current trend of Integrated Project Delivery 2021? Covid kinda screwed up
