1948 Chrysler Town & Country ⏐ A QUICK LOOK ⏐ SAVOY AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM
Join Steve Starling, a Volunteer Docent, at the Savoy Automobile Museum to take A Quick Look at a 1948 Chrysler Town & Country Woodie.
Chrysler first introduced the Town & Country model in 1941 as a station wagon. However, production was halted later that year due to the U.S. entry into World War II following the attack on Pearl Harbor, which led to a suspension of all civilian automobile manufacturing. When civilian production resumed in the fall of 1945, Chrysler reintroduced the Town & Country-this time as a sedan rather than a station wagon, marking a notable shift in its design approach.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Savoy Automobile Museum connects people to the cultural diversity of the automobile. Through changing exhibits, educational programs, and engaging experiences individuals have the opportunity to appreciate the beauty and history of automobiles. This world-class museum and showgrounds sits on approximately 37 acres in Cartersville, GA just off I-75, between Chattanooga and Atlanta. Guests visiting the museum will be met with an assortment of automobiles and original works of art. Make plans to visit soon!

Excellent presentation....
As a czech myself (and someone who likes tatras) i very much apreciate that you went through the effort of researching and explaining the history of the brand. Thank you.
excellent presentation thanks for sharing!
Who designed the late 60s, early 70s 442, judge c-pillars...
Best builder
GM made such junk in the 1970s. the feds should have never bailed them out. the car world would have been such a better place without the crap they made. eventually U.S. car manufacturers will not exist. the UAW will make sure of that. it happened in Australia and England and it will happen in the U.S.
Chip is one nice man!!
Thank you for these! Are you going to post some of the other Tireside Chats? The British Invasion, the GM Herritage talk, and the Tucker chat with the grandsons? I attended those and would love to watch those again.
Збсь!
Wish I was there! 😍
Because of you i dream always about cars and trucks and i admire you that way you talk about it
Great interview!
Thank you Chip❤
I learned to drive my dads 53 Ford F 100, V8, 4 sp, with side stack exhaust when I was 12... He was a contractor and I would drive the truck around the job site.
It's one of the most beautiful car museums I've been to. I also love how they have a movie theater. A must place to visit.
Chip Foose is the Best car builder in the World. He puts his heart and soul knowledge inspiration and visions and designs of which are totally priceless. Thank you Chip Foose and to all your expert crew members ♥️👍
We love having some of his personal cars on exhibit.
Fantastic insights and stories from an amazing designer that gave us some timeless examples of design excellence.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a class act. And what a massive talent.
He is very talented!
What a great interview. I miss Chip’s tv show.
Thanks for watching!
Don’t you guys have a Ferrari F40 and a Lamborghini Countach?
No, sorry.
Chip Foose designs are so dated
I agree if by dated you mean brilliant.
I love this interview with Chip Foose. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago, at the Grand National Roadster show. He’s a very nice person and great to talk to and my patience. I was very encouraged. In this interview, he’s very transparent. He answers a lot of questions in helping us in the automotive industry.
Thanks for watching! If you get to visit the exhibit, please do so.
Chips the king of the customizers his creations are totally unique and he has the eye for making cars look right He's the best ever Dave kindig and Troy trepanier are close
You ought to get Shaq's car Chip did for him.
Chip.... You're a decnt "car guy", and are very capable of creating some really nice hot rods & unique customs. However, you're just average. No better than any other talented dude which builds equally as nice hot rods in their own garages. You sir *ARE NOT* "Gifted".... Nor will you EVER be!!! You couldn't create an "ICON" to save your life. You're siumply not capable. Lose the attitude and the arrogance dude... Focus on actually creating something special.... if you can!?
Great interview, how well built were the cars on overhaulin in a short period ?
I enjoyed this interview-I have never met Chip but he comes across as a down to earth, approachable, person...!!
He very much is a person that is approachable ! I’ve met him multiple times , his wife Lynn and his kids as well very nice people !👍🏻😎🇺🇸🦅
Yep bloody awesome video ❤
Thanks!!!!
not true there would not of been a foose design because of the building he would of found another place with his talent
I have a 72 nova sitting in my garage I sure would like chip foose to come fix it for me. Sure would be nice.
I have a feeling you might have to get in line.
I actually love chip drawings more
Interesting!
Plugged wd40.. smart man
I along with my friend Junior Garcia met Chip at the Peterson museums Chip is the most kind and humble man you would ever meet We watched his interaction with kids sitting with the kids for over two hours talking cars, the design and building of cars He was only asked to stay for one half hours after his presentations at the Peterson museum
That was very kind of him.
I give you a big thank you Chip Foose is a real car guy and a true gentleman.
Ya, it's not what you know ,its who you know....☸
Chip what a story and loved watching overhauling.....best show ever. What i love about it is that your crews way of COMMUNICATION WITH one another with respect 🙏 and not using PROFANITY TO GET ATTENTION. chip your are the HUMBLEST PERSON IN THE CAR WORLD .WE LOVE YOU and thanks for talking time to say hi and post for a picture.
It was a great evening. Chip is the most talented designer today and very personable. He spent time talking to event participants, answering questions and asking his own questions like "what are you working on?". I was so glad he brought the P-32 which is one of my favorite hot rods. I lived in Coronado and Imperial Beach when I was a kid, father was on an aircraft carrier, I fell in love with airplanes and my dad drove fast cars so, for me, the p-32 is best of both worlds.
WOULD CHIP FOOSE! HIRE ( BADDD CHADDD ) TO BUILD CARS OUT OF MUFFLER EXHAUST PIPE, AT HIS SHOP! A! ONLY! BADDD CHADDD IS ABLE TO BUILD A SOUP CAN CAR! IN CANADA! ONLY DAILLY CARTOON CHANNEL! A!
To Chip's many talents add story teller, he has much to tell and excels at it.
Chip is and always has been The Man Best car builder EVER !
And oh yeah ROCK ON BRO.
I graduated From Syracuse University and studied design and wanted to learn how to render. These industrial designers seriously know how to render light and shadow Chip , light and shadow
Hope you can make it to the exhibit.
Overhaulin' was a great show. I am scandalized by the cost to the people. His is a passion but I am not sure it is worth it without making enough money.
Hmm, wondering if he makes house calls? I've got a couple of cars that could use his expertise. The Savoy Museum cars really do shine.
Very cool teaser video
Really enjoyed the panel discussion. Great insight into Porsche
Steve did a great job on this video. Good info.
Outdoor car events are at the mercy of the weather. Unfortunately, the rain held down the attendance. Looking forward to next year's event.
The Savoy Automotive Museum is a visual treat both inside and out. Highly recommend!
