We sailed out of Port Canaveral and it was an eastern Caribbean cruise. The ship was completely full, but that really is the case for all Caribbean cruises right now. I don't know when you are planning to sail but, unless you are going last minute and know there are a lot of empty cabins, you should probably assume it will be a full ship. Having said that, one of the things we really liked about the Escape is that there is so much to do around the ship. That gives you opportunities to get away from the crowds if you so choose. You are correct that there is not a branded Starbucks location on the Escape. However, the Atrium Cafe creates all kinds of coffee drinks and serves Starbucks products. It was very good and didn't trouble us at all that it wasn't an "official" Starbucks location.

100% correct 👍. In fact, I would highly recommend getting a passport. Even though Americans can cruise in the Caribbean with just a birth certificate and ID, if something happens like illness or injury in a foreign country it could be a catastrophe.

There are a lot of good answers to this question since the Escape has so much to choose from. It kind of depends what sort vibe you are looking for. Certainly the pool deck area (Waves bar on the pool deck 16 and sun deck 17) will have the most energy. They will likely be crowded as well. You've got Spice H2O on the rear of the ship on Deck 17; that would certainly be nice for sail away. And the Deck 19 sun deck on the front of the ship has a bar that usually isn't too busy and the views up there are really good. Finally, if you are looking for something more laid back and relaxing with comfortable seating, then try the Waterfront on Deck 8. There's a bar on each side of the ship and we really enjoyed hanging out there when we didn't want to be in the sun. In conclusion, we liked the sun deck bar on Deck 19 on the front of the ship for sail away (if weather is good). It's not too busy and the views are great. And, for a bonus, you could watch sail away from one of the 2 big hot tubs cantilevered off the side of the ship on the Deck 19 sun deck. Have a wonderful trip!

It was September for this video. We did late January once and it was a little chilly. Early November sounds like a great time to go. Obviously check the weather as you are packing. Have a great trip.

Well, you should think of it like a commercial airline with its departure time. The door closes to the airplane about 15 minutes prior to departure and they won’t let you on after that. The ship has a departure time and they have to close the gangway prior to that time. The all aboard times are well known and you need to ensure that that you are onboard before that time.

The captain then allegedly refused to let them board. "The Harbor Master tried to call the ship. The captain refused the call," Jay Campbell told WRAL."We sent emails to Norwegian Cruise Line, the NCL customer service emergency number, and they said, well, the only way for us to get in touch with the ship is to send them e-mails, and they're not responding to our emails. “The captain could have made an easy decision to turn one of the tender boats back, pick us up, safely load us and then go on the way,” Campbell said.“They had no port to call for the next day, they were simply going to be at sea.” This just shows how cold the captains heart was to it's guests. Especially seeing the people could've easily boarded the ship as the harbour master delivered them to the ship. It wasn't a safety issue. He just didn't want to let them on board. Personally I would never take up a holiday with these people, because how assuring is it to know that the people who are looking after you, will go out of their way for you if the situation called for it. Yes these people were late because of the tour guide. so the fault is with them. But it still shows the cold heart of the people tasked to look after you. That alone is a red flag.

The beach (Infinity) and bars (Patron and Bertram's) closest to the tender dock definitely get more crowded than the others. And the videos of those 2 bars were taken in the afternoon. There was a pretty sizable line at 11:15 at the Abaco Taco when it opened. But it moved pretty good. If you want to avoid the crowds, I would recommend heading further away from the tender dock to Cabana Beach and the Lighthouse Beach Bar. We didn't wait at all for any drinks for food down there. And we didn't see any flies, but it was February and there was a breeze.

Great question. It is a great idea to understand what is included and what is not included in your cruise fare before you get on the ship. Assuming you aren't "consuming" any food/drink/service/merchandise that is not already covered by your cruise fare, then the only thing you need to be aware of are the "automatic service gratuities" that most cruise lines charge of ~$18.00 USD per person, per day that will be applied to each guest’s (or in some cases they all go on the primary guest's) onboard account on a daily basis. The gratuity applies to individual guests of all ages. These charges are customary within the industry. However, it is theoretically possible to adjust them by visiting Guest Services onboard before the morning of departure.

Yes. You can prepay them if you so choose. You just need to factor it in to your budget either way.

It’s one really big pool. Zero entry was meant to describe the sloping entrance (no steps or drop off) where the deck gradually slopes into the water that you can see at 3:04. And you would expect more kids in that area.

Disney does the kids clubs a little different from other cruise lines. The younger kids 3-10 are in the Oceaneer’s Club. Then, they have a special space just for “tweens” 11-14 called the Edge. And the older kids 14-17 have the Vibe. So, 14 year olds actually have a choice between the two clubs.
