I didn't see enough closet space inside the camper for the jeep. Nice video anyways. I currently use a NAZ Victron Multiplus II, a NAZ Victron Quattro, and a NAZ Cotek Inverter. House, trailer, and sailboat are all offgrid. Good people at NAZ. I make the drive to Flag to pickup my goods in person and meet the folks I do business with... and ... ah...well... visit the mountain's micro breweries too. lol
Victron have explicitly stated only fine stranded wire shall be used in any connection would a ferrule not mechanically create a solid strand? Also, only Americans needed tutorial on how to use a terminal.
Benjamin was a great help when I upgraded from our 24V system to 48V system. Thank you NAZ for great customer support, service and pricing! 👍🏽
معي ثلاثة الواح طاقة شمسيه الواحد 570 وات وانفرتر 200 هل يكفو لتشغيل الغطاس
Hold on! You said after solar generated power satisfys the critical loads panel and the main panel, the excess is sent back to the grid?? NO, I want the excess to CHARGE THE BATTERIES. Also, we need a better explanation of how the system prevents energy flow to the grid during outages - you know, for safety? Diagrams and a better explanation is needed.
Hello NAZ, can you help me with a Sunny Island inverter connected to e flex 5.4 batteries? It's a new install but it has error codes and it turns off. Fortress helped with a little troubleshooting. Technition hasn't followed up for a long while.
Great video! Easy to follow and very informational. I found the spring system to be a horrible experience! very hard to connect and the wires continued to slip out. It's hard enough in such a small area with larger wires. Please go back to the screw down method!!!
so the only difference between multiplus and multiplus II is size, about 2 lbs and multiplus II has a current sensor?
@3:50 U need some sleeep bro😂
If the system is tricked into thinking the grid still has power what stops the system from feeding excess power into the downed grid to prevent electrocuting the linemen?
Thanks for the helpful explanation!
Thank you for a great and helpful video! Just the info I needed. However, PLEASE nobody strip wires like poor ol' Ben here. Stripping like this (1:49) is a recipe for damaged insulation and arcing under the right circumstances. I've definitely seen it in the wild! If it's not obvious what I'm talking about Support the cable and knife together in one hand while rotating the cable with the other to control the depth of the score on the insulation. Be willing to make 2-3 complete passes around. Only go 60-80% of the way through the outer jacket, and then bend it around until something opens up. (Make another pass if nothing does.) Then add a little tiny bit of score here and there as you bend it and it comes loose. Then, even though it's very convenient (2:08), you should avoid slicing up the outer insulation like this. Usually you can wiggle the outer insulation off with 5 more seconds of patience. If you're working in a difficult place and absolutely have to do more to relieve the jacket, either try to slip the knife blade underneath so you're cutting away from the wires, or follow the paper up the sheath so where your blade pokes through, it isn't scoring the wire insulation underneath. In all cases, keep the underlying wire insulation intact!
I would say it’s a very good thing to go with double pole DC breakers simply because breaking the positive and negative is good if you find that something has failed within the breaker so with a one pole one you may not be able to turn it off but with a double pole one worst case only the negative is isolated but it gives you time to plan out a proper fix
Can you make a video about Victron and Enphase AC coupled?
At 34’ speaker claims the rack Mount style batteries only use 15 cells and don’t achieve the pack voltage required for inverters. This is misleading and deceptive. The older battery chemistries only required 15 cells to meet the 50 volt battery pack requirement. The newer LiFEO4 battery chemistry requires 16 cells to make the 50-51v pack. Rack Mount battery kits and suppliers have been doing this for well over a year Why any expert would make a dishonest public claim to disparage an entire industry is disappointing. Disgusting even. Check out any of several other diy TH-camrs and forums, this was common knowledge well before this video was posted.
Very cool i want one!
How many 500 watt panels can the 12kp handle?
Do you have any diagram or video showing this system working?
Do you know if you can set export limit and when you force discharge of batteries, will it also export to grid, adhering to the limit provided I have a grid interconnection agreement?
The bad thing about the newer multiplus II style is they are loud especially under full load. Quatro all the way. They are way quieter.
Is that 600Volts total for each MPPT, then 300Volts per strinY on each MPPT?
Please provideVideo links to the Suge Test. aLSO When you speak of 200% over Max PV input Power and the Max MPPT Voltage is 600Volts does this mean I can use 1200Volt Max voltage for 1 string on MPPT 1 Thank you for a Great Video
Are they all work on low frequency?
What about saving your settings in the Inverter before you update? You Do NOT mention that WHY? Cause you LOOSE them when you update the Inverter???
really good video for installers
Great review- informative and concise
Hi - I don’t get the 3 dots in the app which gives the option to reset the pin? Also, I have taken a photo of the label on the back of my mppt 75/15 solar charge controller - there are 2 bar codes with a number under each - which one is the PUK code?
Have on myself it's a pretty great inverter and looks to be extremely well built.. looking to buy a 2nd one soon!
I just need to talk my work into buying me one so I can test it.
Can it be installed in a 5th wheel Rv with 50 amp running 15k a day
I've been to the NAZ office in Flagstaff and done business with both Logan and Ben. Both of those guys are legitimate "sales engineers," meaning they are engineers using engineering skills in a sales capacity. They're refreshingly knowledgeable and technically helpful, which is a lot better than trying to deal with someone who has a purely sales skillset.
Good job Janet.
Very cool!
Anyone know rhe default password? Can find it anywhere.
@navsingh2566 definitely call your rep/whoever you bought it from to be completely sure. But often it is set to "0000" at the start.
i can imagine it but it better if you have a diagram visuals...thanks
Hello, I am encountering a problem with my battery, it reached 46v DC when I plug in my regulator, the voltage of my 360A 48volt lithium battery decreases to 24volt, how to resolve please.
hmm.. pv to micro-inverter to main-inverter to charger to batteries - to inverter - to device… .. whats the final efficiency? 65%.. 60? even less?? ….micro inverter seem like a royally dumb idea when considering all aspects of their usage
What’s the torque on end brackets?
Hope to test one on a real every use off grid living since I help many people that don’t have access to the electrical grid hood video 👍🏻
Nice to see more of these 48V Vics getting used. I've been running one of these 48V/5KW Victrons with 20KWh (4 24V in a 2P/2S setup) battery bank and 2KW of solar for about 8 months now. As these units are single phase, I'm only using one side of the 50A input. I avoid tripping the shore breaker by limiting current input to 47A thru the Victron controls app. On the rare occasion that current exceeds that mark the inverter power shares the overage from the batteries. Also, these inverters use 2 AC outputs, one is battery backed and AC2 is only on when on shore or generator. Loads are split so that non-essential loads are disconnected (AC2out) when only on battery/solar. (Items like the fridge and water heater and one AC unit). So far working well. Even with all loads on, the analyzer shows a 67A pull and these inverters are rated for 95A. Total cost was right around $9K but added (ugh) about 400lbs to the front end. I originally tried a SunGold all in one inverter, but there was no seamless transition between battery and generator. The Victron has no problem with that.
Thank you for making this video. I have scoured the internet for information on goodwe inverters with very little success. I bought one from naz this year and was disappointed that there was so little info.
That's exactly why we made this! :)
Thank you! I only needed six of them. Thank you for selling singles. They were a breeze to install and now one year later no issues what so ever.
Your should have pointed out that you dont need 7kw to charge a tesla over night after a day of normal driving.. back and forth to work and store etc.
Why does my multiplus ii not chage off 240v. It clicks then stops.
What piqued my interest is your offer to connect me to a local installer. I'm in Phoenix and am having a terrible time trying to find a company that will do an install for me because I've already purchased my modules, inverters and ground mount hardware. Do you know of Phoenix area installers that work with people like me? I'm trying to get this done ASAP
@NischGTM Sorry we didn't respond right away! Didn't see this notification. Give out office a call and we can absolutely get you hooked up! Sorry that's been a challenge for you.
Can i turn off the wifi emiting from the micro inverter?
I am in the process of gathering components for a 35kW ground mount install here in Phoenix. I have (50) 700w panels already, and they are very large, 48" x 96" roughly. Would the Tamarack system support a 3-stack vertical? I'm noticing on the configurator, they don't recommend panels greater than 45" wide for 3 tall configurations. I just ordered my Hoymiles HMS-2000-4T's and hopefully will have those in the next couple weeks. Once I procure all of my equipment, do you guys have recommendations on anyone that services the Phoenix area that can get my engineering and hopefully installation? Does NAZ service Phoenix? I'm ready to get this project going now that I have the bulk of the main components. Thanks for the video, it's really helpful.
Thumbnail photo spelled “Applications” wrong
This is the first understandable description I've found of what I want to do with my existing solar setup here in RI. I'd love to see a schematic, and I have one question at this stage: Is there a way to automatically disconnect from the grid when it's down (and reconnect when it's back up)? If my array and batteries are hot I don't want to have my lines to the outside world powered while utility company crews are working to reconnect me.
Nice job....helped.
Glad to hear it!
