"Hollow" music video by Björk + Drew Berry (wehi.tv), 2010

A powers-of-10 exploration of the microscopic and molecular landscapes inside Björk's body. The animation was constructed from molecular models of DNA and proteins derived from various forms of scientific data such as x-ray crystallography. My work is usually defined by goals of didactic science education and accuracy, so this is the first time that I've strayed fully into the world of art, wit...
Cellulose synthesis by plant cells. Powers of ten zoom.

Whale vs Squid
มุมมอง 218K14 ปีที่แล้ว
I made this animation over two weeks for Museum Victoria's marine exhibition in 2006. The science was based on a paper where they tagged a female sperm whale and recorded her dive depth, velocity and duration. This movie was projected onto a large glass screen that was able to turn opaque (for image projection) then turn clear at the end of the movie, revealing a whale skull behind the glass.
Such a clear and illustrative animation! It's very helpful for my geology classes. Thank you so much for sharing!
is the green stuff photosynthetic? are they phytoplankton?
Yes - all microalgae
@@ajbiv nice, im getting smorter
what is up with that face at 3:50 ?
It's Björk's ancestral spirit manifesting as a protein complex, watching her genes flow from one generation to the next.
❤
Geeks are now believing that computers with A.I have concusnus!
11:30 slide was amazing I could actually see the DNA strand duplicating.
I think this video needs a electronic microscope to see what the atoms are actually doing.
Amazing footage, this video needs more views!
This is the most wonderful experience of such a brilliant human being. I'm so inspired by him!
thanks, i didn't catch the spinning of the rosette in a static diagram
The video is so good, thanks.
Putting that face in this video greatly damaged the credibility that I was looking for. Seeing that ruined any desire I had to take this video seriously.
Err... it's a Björk music video. What would you expect?😉
amazing! ☆○°♡°○☆○°♡°○☆
this is what i am looking for
Great animations. Blows my mind. The song... hurts my mind. Just terrible.
c'est super bien fait je suis choquée
Best video about cellulose
There normal size is 16 meters for the whale
Bruh squid can kill the whale
Imagine showing this to a guy who's tripping hard
Tripping balls... right! Man...if we had this in the 80s with four way flash and test tube.....mind blown!!!! Lmao
Amazing!!
I need brain & ven informatoon
so cool !
This is SO helpful for studying!! Really puts all the pieces together. Are there grants to do more of these? You should find them and do it, its SO useful.
It doesn’t. He just refers to „enzymes“ which is very not specific..
4:40 Is that a real protein?
No it's a music clip video 😂 obviously this is Björk's face in a nano world
Good
Good
That would have been cool if the cow ate the plant. I was waiting for it.
nice animation
who won?
Improve your job incompetent
This is what i'm looking for !
"Get off ye big bastard!"
Amazing! 😍
This is amazing but you do not have to much DNA videos can you make more plz probably 10 to 20 more?
No problem, here is my playlist of 70 more th-cam.com/play/PLD0444BD542B4D7D9.html
@@ajbiv awesome response
@@ajbiv Hey, i just want to let you know that youre a freaking legend to create these animation videos. Thank you so so much for introducing this amazingness to us
@@shaikrehanaparveen8862 Thank you Shaik! Appreciated.
Is that face part of the nucluse protein DNA or did you make it fucking up
It's Björk's face...
It's Björk's ancestral spirit manifesting as a protein complex, watching her genes flow from generation to generation.
Yeah is that real???
4:00 dat face!
😍😍😍😍
Is this what I'm looking for?
I love this!!! Absolutely amazing quality animations which makes it so much easier to understand! Thank you very much ♡♡

fun! I'm going to use it in my Plant Phys class!
The squids thought they would be safe down there.
Absolutely awesome simulation. Kudos to the graphic dsigners, illustrators, and CGI animators.
thank you! from the solo animator
This is what I’m looking for
Found this via WEHImovies.
Nice
Love this animation. Captures the mysterious nature of these whales.
How does the cellulose move out of the cell membrane? Is it through diffusion?
Cellulose is just a tough substance and cell wall of plant cells is made up of cellulose
Hello. I hope you are well. Cellulose is just the structure of plant cell walls. It doesn't actually diffuse, it keeps the cell wall strengthened. Hope you understand.
I know this was asked a year ago, but it doesn't seem like it's diffusing. The enzymes take the smaller pieces of the cellulose and transport them out of the cell by adding them onto the protein. You're looking for how the enzyme works. It's probably not diffusion because it doesn't look like that's what the enzyme is doing.
Great stuff thanks, really good watching the propulsion of the bacteria.
So clearly explained and beautifully illustrated thanks.
Very amazing 👍
