Drop Shotting Evening Walleye!

I went for a short evening fish out on the St. Clair River. The drop shot rig is something I've been wanting to use a lot more lately to try to get better with it and so I decided I'd give it a shot for some walleye on this outing. What do you have more success with , spoons or body baits?

    • @bearbonesfishing
      @bearbonesfishing 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Spoons have been my most productive lures the last 2 seasons. Prior to that it was the Black and Chrome Ripplin Red Fin that did the trick. When I'm by myself running 2 lines, most of the time I run 2 spoons to start and will change to a body bait if things are slow (just like in this video). When I'm running a 4 or 6 rod spread, I'll always have at least 1 to 3 body baits out. I only run body baits (Bandits and Reef Runners) on my planer boards. What's your preference?

    • @user-yt4dk8rm9u
      @user-yt4dk8rm9u 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@bearbonesfishing I prefer crank baits off boards , I only switch to dipsy divers if the fish are really deep and then spoons seem to be better. Recently tried the stealth diver setup and it out fishes the standard diver rig

      Hi Rob. Ask all the questions you want my man! I'm running a 5.5 to 6 foot leader (I measure it by using my wingspan). I use size 2 or 3 Torpedo brand snap swivels. I have a mixture of both because a couple times I went to the fishing shop, they only had one or the other. So now I'm left with a mix 😂.

Had all sorts of recommendations- from bad wiring and bad motherboard to having to recalibrate the GPS compass. Finally broke out the remote foot pedal as a placebo and it worked fine. Turns out the hand-held units are not 'waterproof' but 'water-resistant' as the battery terminals were corroded. Just a heads up. I fish just down the road out of Bruce and follow your content. Adjust the depth of your dipsies or downriggers depending on what depth in the water column you're marking the fish. I've caught them from 15 feet all the way down to 60 feet on some days.
